We Came From Wolves return with single Ruiner!

“Feels, hooks and more feels...”- Rock Sound
We Came From Wolves return with single Ruiner, out March 18th 2016. The single is taken from their self-titled debut album, which was released last year via Saraseto Records.
You can listen to the track now on band’s Soundcloud page now or by clicking the embed below.
The album gained praise from Rock Sound, The Sunday Herald, The Daily Record, Team Rock, Amazing Radio and XFM amongst others and although Ruiner is taken from their last album, it feels like a fresh start for the band. After the success of the album and winning the Best Alternative Rock category at 2015’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards, We Came From Wolves have since had a line-up change with new members Andy Donaldson and Michael MacKay joining founding members Kyle Burgess and Robert Whytock.
“Ruiner is a frank and bleak self-assessment of a dark period in my early 20’s,” says frontman Burgess. “The song battles the realisation of pain you are causing others through selfish choices and lifestyles, and opens up to the failures in my life at that point.” It’s apt that the single features as the penultimate track on the album, with final track ‘I Need Something’ offering a glimmer of hope, showing progression, a different mindset and what is yet to come. We Came From Wolves’ album is one of self-discovery and single Ruiner shows us the end of that journey. .
Musically, the band are influenced by Arctic Monkeys and fellow Scots Biffy Clyro. Ruiner reflects Biffy’s earlier sound - there’s a raw energy and urgency about the single. However, despite these influences, We Came From Wolves have very much made this sound their own and with a Highlands tour confirmed for March 2016, a new EP planned later in the year and festival announcements to come, the band continue to make their mark as one of Scotland’s most exciting new alt rock bands.
The band will also heading on a short Highlands Tour in March, full details of the dates below.
19/03- Drouthy Cobbler, Elgin
20/03- The Green Room, Perth
Ruiner is out March 18th 2016 via Saraseto Records.

The Cradles release ‘Ideal Girl’ video

“…a powerful blast of young energy.” - Clash
“Intriguing psych-inflected indie-rock” - Songwriting Magazine
Welsh indie rock band The Cradles have released their awesome video for brand new single Ideal Girl, which is out on March 25th via Solva Records.
The video premiered on Clash and you can watch it via the band’s YouTube channel now.
You can also stream Ideal Girl via The Cradles’ Soundcloud page or via the embed below.
Ideal Girl tackles universal themes of wallowing in self-pity as one blindly searches for love and companionship. The track kicks off with a ‘Misirlou’ style surf-rock guitar riff before building into a undeniably catchy chorus akin to the likes of early Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines. Lead singer Joe Norman’s vocals water tight throughout, as he emotes an almost effortless feeling, whilst still managing to maintain a gritty yet dynamic rock sound.
Having met at school in Cardiff in 2012, The Cradles quickly started to make a name for themselves on the local music scene in Wales, and have now cemented themselves as one of South Wales’ most celebrated acts for 2016. Band members Joe Norman (vocals), Kieran O’Brien (guitar), Luke Haines (bass) and brothers Toby Andrews (guitar) and Declan Andrews (drums) have been praised for their live performances in particular, cutting their teeth and honing their set while supporting the likes of Pretty Vicious and The Bohicas.
The Cradles have received support from the likes of BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, Radio X’s John Kennedy, BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton and Bethan Elfyn alongside a variety of online websites and blogs. As well as landing support slots, the five piece have also played a number of festivals including Swn Festival, X Music Festival and they will be supporting Bill Ryder-Jones this March. The Cradles are eager to show that they are not just another indie rock band, rather they are a band of unique personalities who’s mandate is to write and perform good old-fashioned rock and roll with a modern twist.
Ideal Girl is out on March 25th 2016 via Solva Records.
Introducing… The Calm Fiasco

Glasgow rockers The Calm Fiasco are set to release their fantastic sophomore EP The Fear due for release on 22nd April 2016 via Chewy Records.
Knitting together a killer combination of dangerously catchy indie guitar pieces, energetic drum beats, mesmerising pop-hooks and Glaswegian accented vocals, The Fear perfectly captures the bands enthusiastic live performances on record. Influences from the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix shine through on tracks such as ‘She Said’ and forthcoming single Lose Control as the band embrace the use of California-pop style guitar licks and infectious choruses.
You can download the EP track 'She Said' for free via the ABoF Soundcloud page or by clicking the embed below:
Comprising Del Morin (lead vocals/guitar), Greg Totten (lead guitar/backing vocals), Harry Fleming (bass/backing vocals) and Andy McInnes (drums), the band came together in 2012 after bonding over a shared love of music both past and present. Finding time out from blagging their way into festivals, interviewing A-list celebrities under the guise of Harry being James Cordon’s younger brother (he bears an uncanny resemblance), The Calm Fiasco began to build their presence on the Scottish music scene.
With their first release receiving support from Amazing Radio, The Daily Record and The Sunday Mail as well as playing 2 sold out headline shows at King Tuts, The Calm Fiasco are now eager to share their music with a wider audience, aiming to turn even more heads with their addictive mix of indie, pop and rock with a Glaswegian twist.
The Fear out 22nd April 2016 via Chewy Records.
Introducing… AmatrArt

AmatrArt are due to release the double a-side single Mirror/Soft Skin on 8th April 2016 via Bloc+ Music. Subversively playing with the indie/electro dynamic, the band have carefully constructed a sound that embraces the immediacy of indie-pop, allied to a distinctively high brow ambient sound, all unified by the dreamy Mark Hollis (Talk Talk) style vocals produced by Jonathan Mullen.
Mirror is the first track to be released from the double a-side and was premiered on BBC Radio 1's Vic Galloway show. The track is now available to stream via the ABoF Soundcloud page or by clicking on the embed below.
Mirror, which opens with a sweeping synth and heavily reverbed guitar, is a song of self-reflection with the protagonist questioning his decisions, before summing up with the line “where did I go wrong?” A rasping guitar riff emanates throughout the chorus followed by a searing solo, as the song builds and builds before coming to a crashing end.
Not to be outdone, Soft Skin offers another example of the talent AmatrArt possess despite their young age. Encapsulating the electronica intricacies of Kid A era Radiohead, Soft Skin kicks off with the alluring sounds of synth straddling chiming guitar, while singer Mullen shows off his vocal range, the verses delivered flawlessly, as the mix between his and the rest of the bands punctuated choral vocals help to create an almost overwhelming effect.
Having known each other and played music together from a young age Jonathan Mullen (Vocals & Guitar), Josh McGeechan (Guitar) and Niall Jootun (Bass) formed AmatrArt after a series of jams and bedroom recordings. Completing the line up with Niall Morris (Samples/Synths) and Lewis Orr (Drums) the band have gone onto produce as sound that sits somewhere between contemporary acts such as alt-J, Dutch Uncles and Nothing But Thieves. Having already played the T Break Stage at T in the Park last year as well as picking up support from the likes of BBC Radio Scotland, the Scotland on Sunday and The Herald, AmatrArt are eager to share their sound with a wider audience throughout 2016.
Mirror/Soft Skin is out 8th April 2016 via Bloc+ Music.
