Lead by sibling duo Robin Christensen-Marriott and Catherine Marriott, Oxford band Catgod return to grace our ears with immersive new single Keep My Promises out now.

Taken from forthcoming EP Heartbeat In My Hand, Keep My Promises is a spellbinding fusion of sounds. Interweaving swirling folk-tinged melodies with trip-hop-inspired beats, Robin’s soaring vocals are perfectly complemented by Cat’s exquisite harmonies. Showcasing the band’s unique musicality, it’s an epic, cinematic soundscape that’ll captivate on first listen.

Impossible to pigeon-hole into one single genre, Catgod combine an eclectic range of influences on Heartbeat In My Hand - merging elements of traditional folk, jazz, trip-hop and classical instrumentation to create something wonderfully original. Reflecting on the range of emotions that any loving relationship entails, rich musical layers and an impassioned grace run throughout the EP, making for a truly majestic listen.

Formed when Cat and Robin started singing together when Cat moved back home to Oxford from London, Catgod was created as something positive to focus on during a time of change. The siblings’ connection is evident in their intuitive partnership on stage, and over the last year Catgod have charmed crowds at Truck Festival, O2 Academy Oxford and many Sofar Sounds showcases. They have also received acclaim from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit and both Lauren Laverne and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.

Heartbeat In My Hand, the upcoming EP from Catgod, is out 22nd June 2018.
