Lebatol formed in 1999 and began playing regularly around London. 10 tracks were recorded the following year and then in January 2001. Lebatol's first radio play came when they were Steve Lamacq's spotlight band of the week on the Radio 1 Evening Session. In October that year, debut single The Single was released through the band's own Function Records label. Since then they have released one album and three more EPs in-between putting out the releases of countless other bands through Function.
