PRS for Music arrive in Edinburgh this September to host an Inspire workshop in association with grass roots organisation Small Business Saturday, featuring key local business owners discussing the impact of music in their businesses for both customers and staff. This will be followed by PRS for Music Presents; a live gig featuring Fatherson, Holy Esque and Be Charlotte.

Both events will take place at Electric Circus on Thursday 15th September with the panel kicking off at 5pm – 6pm and the gig from 7pm. The panel is invite-only but will be live streamed via Periscope and PRS for Music Presents will be inviting music industry, members and licensees down to enjoy the amazing music some of their members are creating.

From 7pm PRS for Music Presents hosts a live show with headliners Fatherson and fellow Scots Holy Esque and Be Charlotte. PRS for Music Presents exhibits the best in live music, with each session hosting unique, intimate performances from new and established members. This allows PRS for Music to invite a broad range of business owners and experts to one place where they can experience members’ music first hand and help them understand how the PRS for Music licence fee contributes to the creation of great new music. Previous artists that have donned the PRS for Music Presents stage include Ghostpoet, PEACE and Rag N Bone Man amongst others.

PRS for Music is extremely excited to be bringing two events to Edinburgh next month,” says PRS for Music’s commercial director Paul Clements. “Working with one of our key partners, Small Business Saturday, who are as passionate as we are about celebrating small businesses, we will be speaking to some of our key customers about the positive impact music has for both their customers and staff as well as the incredible benefits using music in the right way has overall. This will be followed by the latest in our PRS for Music Presents series showcasing some of our members and amazing local talent headlined by Glasgow band, Fatherson.”

The UK has a proud tradition of creating wonderful music that is enjoyed the world over. PRS for Music provides business and community groups with access to over 10m songs through its music licences and in turn, protects the rights of songwriters, composers and music publishers, ensuring they are fairly paid whenever their music is played, performed or reproduced in public.

Small Business Saturday UK is a grass roots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.

PRS for Music’s Inspire workshop and the PRS for Music Presents show are both invite only.
