Introducing… EMILIE!

"...a three-chord gem helmed by Atkinson's breathy, crystalline vocal."
- The Line of Best Fit
EMILIE, aka Emily Atkinson, creates dark, melodic electro-pop with her latest single Eyes For You, due for release on 9th September 2016 via Stellar Recordings.
The track premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and you can also listen to it via EMILIE's Soundcloud page now.
Eyes For You, taken from debut EP I See You In The Darkness, explores the feeling of suppression and how things can be seen as defeatist or unreachable. Tackling the subject with grace and dignity, EMILIE allows the music to speak for itself combining electro-pop beats and stunning ethereal vocals akin to the likes of London Grammar's Hannah Reid.
Currently based in Edinburgh, Emily dedicates her time solely to EMILIE. On all her tracks Emily performs vocals and synths herself with the help of a producer and drummer for percussion and sampling. Having played the Scottish live circuit for the past year, including a support slot with SG Lewis in Glasgow, Emily is ready to introduce the rest of the UK to her broody take on electro-pop.
Eyes For You by EMILIE is out 9th September 2016 via Stellar Recordings.
Introducing… Gallery 47!

“…Jeff Buckley-esque vibrato with sheer youthful exuberance…”
- Drowned in Sound
Set for release on 11th November 2016 via AWAL (Artists Without A Label) / Bad Production Records, Gallery 47's latest album Clean is a collection of heartfelt, melancholic melodies written and performed by songwriter Jack Peachey accompanied by a manifesto of local Nottingham musicians.
Following the release of Jack’s sophomore album, All Will Be Well in 2014, Gallery 47 set off on tour with Paul Weller across Europe and signed a publishing deal with BMG Berlin shortly after. The album revolved around a badly timed break-up during a period where Jack was facing health problems, forcing him to leave his job. Since then the couple reunited and married, hence the title All Will Be Well.
You can now watch the videos for 'Free Range' and 'Its Been A Long Day' from the forthcoming album Clean via Gallery 47's YouTube channel.
Alternatively you can listen to the track 'Rising Star', also featured on the album, via Jack's Soundcloud page.
Clean is Jack’s third album, which is a departure from his previous release. His latest album mirrors All Will Be Well by expressing his new found peace with songs like ‘Never Alone’ and ‘Dream Real’. Jack’s ability to reflect on personal experiences feels similar to the likes of Bob Dylan’s raw writing style mixed with Iron & Wine’s soft, bittersweet sound.
Amongst Jack’s supporters are BBC Radio 2‘s Bob Harris, BBC 6music’s Tom Robinson, BBC Radio Nottingham’s Dean Jackson, The Guardian, Drowned in Sound and Folk Radio to name a few. Gallery 47 has also supported a number of well established acts like Paul Weller, Alice Phoebe Lou, Ian McCulloch and Andrew Montgomery as well as playing on the BBC Introducing stage at T in the Park.
Gallery 47’s album Clean is out on 11th November 2016 via AWAL / Bad Production Records.
Tanners Pool release new video for ‘Bad Advice’!

"A racing, energy-fuelled blast of funk-rock..." - Gigslutz
To celebrate the release of their debut EP Out Of Line, Tanners Pool have shared a brand new video for track Bad Advice.
The video premiered on Gigslutz and you can also watch it via Tanners Pool's YouTube channel now.
You can buy Out Of Line via the band's website and stream tracks Plastic Wings and Bad Advice via their Soundcloud page.
In keeping with the EP’s title, the record explores themes of going against the grain rather than following the mainstream trends we are force-fed and ultimately drawn to in life, instead promoting idea of individuality and following ones own path. Opening track Bad Advice kicks off with Jess Ashdale’s thrashing distorted guitar, which mirrors contemporary acts such as the Arctic Monkeys’ punchy, electrifying sound. While on I’m Long Gone the band click into a funk rock groove akin to the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, as Jess steals the show with an expertly delivered wah-wah pedal affected guitar solo. The band reverts back to their rock ’n’ roll roots in Nothing and Nobody and Plastic Wings; both tracks filled with fuzzy guitar riffs and pounding drums throughout. Each track on Out of Line offers something different as you work through the EP, as Tanners Pool impressively traverse the line between indie rock, funk and classic rock sounds of days gone by.
Tanners Pool formed in Oxford in late 2015 after joint songwriting duo Matt Ashdale (vocals, guitar) and Jess (lead guitar, backing vocals) had been playing and writing together for a number of years. Having begun practising with Seth Roberts (bass) for a few months, they enrolled old school friend Shoji Maeno (drums) who was keen to get involved after seeing the band perform their debut show. The rest, as they say, is history. Now with a debut EP on the horizon, a music video in the works and live dates to follow, Tanners Pool are excited to take the next steps on their journey as a band together.
Out of Line by Tanners Pool is out now via Alt/Logic and is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
John Alcabean’s new single ‘Fire’ out now!

"...a taut, energised piece of noise rock bluster..."
- Clash
Riotous Danish three-piece John Alcabean have released their explosive new single Fire via Tapetown Records, which you can download now via iTunes.
The track premiered on Clash and is also available to stream via the band's Soundcloud page.
You can also watch the video for John Alcabean's previous single Need Comfort via the band's YouTube channel.
Both Fire and Need Comfort are explosive, no nonsense post-punk excellence, surrounded by electrifying guitar riffs and undeniably catchy melodies akin to the likes of Drenge and Royal Blood. Upcoming EP Real Time Fiction is the result of the duo trying to find their sound for the debut as Victor Ryle Shack (lead singer & guitar) stated that from the beginning of the writing process that the band knew what sound they wanted to sound like and the aim was trying to accomplish this in the studio.
The title Real Time Fiction is about the reality of succeeding in something you once thought was fictional and how mind over matter can prevail. This came to be when Victor had a sudden realisation on the impact your thoughts have on your decisions and how they are almost working against your self development at times. Musically, their sound draws upon multiple influences from indie, pop, alt-rock to post-punk, creating a mix so contagious you will have them playing on repeat for days. Imagine a one-night stand between the music of the 90s and the 00s and John Alcabean is conceived.
Despite being relatively new to the live circuit, John Alcabean have already played Offspring Festival and Uhørt Festival as well as playing at a local carnival in front of three people - including two drunks and a handicapped man - who asked them to “sing him a lullaby”. John Alcabean are now ready to introduce the world to their incredible sound and take the rest of 2016 by storm.
John Alcabean’s new single Fire is out now, and available to buy on iTunes. The band's EP Real Time Fiction is out on 2nd September 2016.
