Newtimers release remix for single ‘Best Of Me’!

Newtimers have shared a new Monsieur Adi remix of their single Best of Me. The track and the remix can be found on their forthcoming release EP One, out June 10th 2016 via Cosmos Music.
Premiering on Ultimate Music, the remix is also available to stream and download for free via the band's Soundcloud page.

EP One is a blend of synth pop, RnB and 80s soul with the duo Andreas Britton Cavaco (vocals) and Tim Lundblad (drums, production), finally coming together as Newtimers after writing and recording music for many years under various guises for miscellaneous projects and collaborative ventures.
The tracks on the EP were written at a time when the pair were both suffering from broken hearts. “It's full of who, what, wheres and whys - seeing past, present and future,” say the band and although the songs were written under somewhat sad circumstances, there’s more hope here than melancholy.
The duo have had dalliances with various labels from indies to majors but finally as Newtimers, they’re ready to present their own brand of alt pop to the masses. Previous single Perfect Ten racked up nearly 90k plays on Spotify and the way the pair combine their influences, carving out their own unique space within the pop genre, is their biggest draw - it’s hard to pin Newtimers down and that’s a good thing.
The EP also features two remixes of Best Of Me by Monsieur Adi and Sailor & I. Critically acclaimed Monsieur Adi is known for creating the official remixes for Ellie Goulding as well as Beyonce, Bastille, Lana Del Rey and The Kooks.
Newtimers’ EP One is the perfect introduction to a band that are more than the sum of their various influences, they create modern pop that’s full of heart, soul and depth.

Caralis release ‘Logic’ EP!

Caralis have released their debut EP Logic via Fairfield Records, available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
To celebrate the release of the EP, Caralis are giving away 'Parting Shots' for free with the track available to download on the Caralis Soundcloud page.
The video for official single and title track Logic premiered on The Revue and is now live on the Caralis YouTube channel.
Over the past year, electronic pop artist Caralis has emerged from the shadow of London’s urban landscape, producing a discordantly melodic sound captured superbly on the release of their debut EP.
Beginning as an experiment between two friends, Dan (vocals, drums, keys, guitar) and producer John Merriman (production, drums, percussion, backing vox), Caralis has morphed into the bones of what loosely could be considered a ‘band’, with the added additions of Phil Merrimen (keys) and Ex Libras front man Amit Sharma (guitar, noises) adding a little something extra. The result is the noticeable growth of an embryonic, raw sound laid down in 2015 through the release of single Clicks In and free download track Be Automatic, into something more delicate, subtle and, ultimately, more complete.
There is no mistaking the organic qualities that distinctively permeate Caralis’ sound. These qualities offer an almost bedroom producer-like charm that emanates through the music however, this acts as a mere distraction to what is, in fact, an impressively sophisticated level of production, musicianship and collaborative songwriting. Title track Logic exhibits all of the best facets of what Caralis has to offer. Ethereal beauty pours from Dan’s falsetto vocals, enhanced further by the bands unerring ability to create melody and hooks, neatly finished off with an ominous outro, turning the song completely on its head.
Despite being in the early stages of their growth as a band Caralis have picked up an impressive amount of press with support coming from the likes of Clash, Artrocker, Candid Magazine, The Revue and Louder Than War as well as receiving radio airplay on BBC Radio 6 and Absolute Radio.

Maria Kelly announces single Black & Blue!

Irish singer-songwriter Maria Kelly is back with her latest single Black & Blue, out on 1st July 2016 via Veta Records.
The single premiered on Consequence of Sound and is also available to stream on Maria's Soundcloud page now.
Maria left quite an impression last year with debut single Before It Has Begun - a mournful finger-picked song that shows off Kelly’s pin-drop vocals and beautiful lyricism. Her latest single Black & Blue still feels vulnerable, with a hint of foolish optimism, managing to effectively captivate her talent for bittersweet storytelling - fans of Regina Spektor and She & Him will feel at home here.
Growing up in Mayo, Ireland, Maria spent many years crafting and developing her sound into a stunning combination of delicate indie-folk. She has been writing music since the age of 10 and has already played numerous shows in both the UK and Ireland supporting the likes of Orla Gartland and Wyvern Lingo. Maria has also received praise from various online publications including The Irish Times, Nialler9 and Beat Surrender to name a few. Maria is working in the studio on new tracks for her next EP and developing her live sound in preparation for a busy 2016.

Mairearad Green announces ‘Summer Isles’ UK Tour!

To celebrate the release of her critically acclaimed album Summer Isles, Mairearad Green has announced a selection of tour dates across the UK running from May 31st - June 29th 2016.
Alongside the announcement, Mairearad has released album track The Island, which premiered on Folk Radio UK and is available to stream via the ABoF Soundcloud page and available to buy on Bandcamp now.
Mairearad will be supported by Hector MacInnes; a songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and audio producer from the Isle of Skye. Hector has worked with some of the finest acts in Scotland's folk and acoustic scenes including Dàimh, Fras and Amy Henderson as well as performing guest vocals on Mairearad’s Summer Isles album.
Along with Hector (vocals, drums, bass), joining Mairearad onstage will be producer and multi-instrumentalist, Iain Hutchison (vocals, guitar, piano), with Mairearad herself on vocals, accordion, pipes and piano. Renowned musician and composer, Mike Vass (fiddle, guitar, vocals) completes the live line-up as he joins the band for appearances at The Quay Sessions, Brew at the Bog and The Summer Isles Festival.
Having grown up in the Scottish Highlands and performed in various folk bands, The Summer Isles and the folk tradition are deeply rooted in Mairearad Green’s composition. Summer Isles is an exquisite collection of acoustic, folk and cinematic vignettes that create a listening experience that is sonically rich. Each song tells a story of the islands’ history, embracing a contrasting emotion from track to track.
Summer Isles received praise from a range of publications including The Scotsman, The List, Folk Radio, Songlines, R2 Magazine and Songwriting Magazine to name but a few. Mairearad has also become a leading figure in the folk festival world; performing at the likes of Celtic Connections Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Tonder Folk Festival. In
addition to these tour dates Mairearad will also be the festival director, as well as performer, at The Summer Isles Festival in August.

Introducing… Rootwork!

Straddling the line between elements of metal, post-hardcore, prog-rock and stoner rock, Rootwork are a band who take no prisoners, disarming you in a whirlwind of harmonies before bludgeoning your eardrums with a ferociousness that is as unexpected as it is welcome.
Rootwork have found the sweet spot either side of technical, contemporary metal combined with an energetic tunefulness rich in hooks, time changes and soaring choruses. Indeed, last year’s EP Gallows Humour, which is available now on Bandcamp and iTunes, runs through a gamut of influences in just four pulsating tracks; embracing the sludginess that has become synonymous with the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age and Mastodon juxtaposed with the upbeat doom- pop made famous by contemporaries such as Baroness and Torche.

Single Code Talker is taken from the aforementioned EP release and sees the band showcase their full technically gifted repertoire as blistering, yet intricate, heavy guitar explodes from the speakers, punctuated by piercing vocals, beautifully delivered sweet harmonies all brought together by metronomic, brutal drumming.

Comprising Max Woodhams (guitar, vocals), Jamie Benzine (bass, backing vocals) and Chris Booth (drums, vocals) Rootwork formed in Farnborough towards the end of 2013 having come together through their mutual love of heavy, melodic and complex rock music. In December 2015 the band released their first full length EP picking up support from the likes of Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing as well as a plethora of blogs, and are delighted to announce the official single and video taken from the record with the band eager to share their sound with a wider audience.
