Gallery Circus release gruesome new video ‘The Flood’!

“The band’s most infectious track to date..."
- Upset Magazine
“...infectious insistent riffs and raw energy reminiscent of Royal Blood."
- Louder Than War
“...a powerful blast of indie-rock that’ll leave you hungry for more."
- Gigslutz
Following on from their last, riff-infused track Club House Killer, identical twins Daniel and Graeme Ross - aka Gallery Circus - have released their brand new single The Flood out now via Killing Moon Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
The high octane track is accompanied by a brilliantly gruesome video, think Game of Thrones The Red Wedding meets Falling Down, as Gallery Circus continue to prove that their boisterous sound is certainly not for the faint-hearted. The video premiered on Upset Magazine and is now available to watch on the Gallery Circus YouTube channel.
The single stream premiered on Gigslutz and is now available to stream on the Gallery Circus Soundcloud page
Blasting their infectious sound into your eardrums, the brothers have created another riotous track, sucking you in through its raucous, unbridled energy; thrashing riffs rage alongside uptempo beats and impassioned vocals as the track . Building to an intense, pummelling climax, the track oozes shades of the likes of You Me At Six, Taking Back Sunday and Motion City Soundtrack as its catchy hooks soar with a raw, energy-fuelled edge.
Having played together in various bands all their lives, Daniel and Graeme eventually decided to form Gallery Circus while they were living in Chicago. Over the past year the duo have quickly built up a reputation as being one of the UK’s most formidable new live bands and have supported acts such as Hanni El Khatib, King Charles, Little Comets, Kill it Kid and Arcane Roots.
Due to release an EP later in 2017, Gallery Circus have already received praise from a plethora of well-regarded publications including The 405, The Crack, Q Magazine, Louder Than War, Clash, Upset Magazine and The Metro as well as BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Jen Long and BBC Radio 6 to name but a few. Now, with the truly infectious single The Flood, Gallery Circus are aiming to continue to spread their explosive sound across the UK and beyond.

HAWK release new track ‘Take It Away’!

“…a sharply defined melodic affair…"- Clash
"...emotional..." - Stereogum
“…stunning…” - Noisey
“…simply sublime…” - The Line of Best Fit
Following the release of their last single 'Mirror Maze', Hawk have now shared their new track Take It Away, ahead of their 2017 EP release She Knows out on 17th March 2017 via Veta Records.
The track premiered on Dork and is available to stream now on Hawk's Soundcloud page.
Take It Away was written as a reaction to singer Julie Hawk’s friend being followed home after a night out. Her friend was told that she “shouldn’t have been out on her own at that time” but Julie says that comments like that “miss the point and are the main cause of the problem” in that it’s not the fault of the person being followed but the man who takes away her freedom to walk back home on her own.
Previous single 'Mirror Maze' is about what society expects from us from a female perspective, which is touched upon again on a global sense in ‘Ghosts’ - we should break free from society’s standards and be comfortable in our own skin. Meanwhile, ‘Static’ shines a light on those in power who pay lip service but fail to insight real change.
She Knows covers a range of themes including inequality, exclusion and preconceptions and generalisations faced by different social groups every day. Hawk’s acute social awareness is a trait that the band hold dear but instead of unravelling these ideas into brash political punk songs, they convey their message with beauty and grace. Hawk are not a ‘political band’ but instead a group of friends using their creative talents to mirror the inequalities they witness in everyday life.
Amongst the band’s supporters are Noisey, Stereogum, Clash, The Line of Best Fit and Amazing Radio, who have all commented on Hawk’s edgy emotionality. Now, with She Knows, the band are ready to defy expectations once again, soaring to new heights on this latest release.
Hawk's EP She Knows is out on 17th March 2016 via Veta Records.
Thula Borah release single ‘The Psychopath Test’!

“...a sludgy and melodic brand of rock music that recalls Hum, Silversun Pickups, and Blue Album-era Weezer..." - Stereogum
“...unsettling..." - Upset Magazine
Four-piece alt.rock band Thula Borah are delighted to share their bleak video for single The Psychopath Test out now via Bandcamp, and taken from their six track EP Near Life Experience, out on 27th January 2017 via Kill Jester Records.
The Psychopath Test follows the brilliant free download 'Confabulation', which premiered on Stereogum, and was inspired by Jon Ronson's book of the same name. The video premiered on Upset Magazine and is now available to watch on the Thula Borah YouTube channel.
You can stream The Psychopath Test via the Thula Borah Soundcloud page.
Putting down a marker for all rock bands in 2017, Thula Borah have produced one of the best records your likely to hear all year, creating a sound that defies any one genre; switching seamlessly from post-rock, post-hardcore and dream-pop to grunge, indie-rock and emo. Indeed, Thula Borah have taken post-hardcore sensibilities and fuzzed out, meaty riffs and amalgamated them with catchy hooks that demand your attention. Opening track ‘Analysis Paralysis’ combines chiming guitar riffs with heavy distortion, atmospherically enveloping the listener in ways that bands such as And So I Watch You From Afar, Yndi Halda and Explosions In The Sky achieve so well. Official single The Psychopath Test recalls the feedback-laden stylings of Hum, while ‘Confabulation’ has all the immediacy of an indie-rock classic; a track the likes of Silversun Pickups would be proud. The second half of the record is more subtle, introspective, as the band play with a lo-fi sound and simple acoustics, creating an ambience that draws parallels with the quieter elements of bands such as The Appleseed Cast, Moving Mountains and Dads.
Hailing from Glasgow the band initially started when Lloyd James Fay (guitar/vocals) and Matthew Williams (bass/vocals) began jamming with a drum machine in 2009 before becoming a fully fledged band in 2010 when Kevin Heimann (guitar) became a full time member. The current line-up was complete when Michael O’Rourke (drums) was introduced to the band by a friend and Thula Borah haven’t looked back since, picking up support from BBC Radio Scotland as well as playing festivals such as Jocktoberfest in Inverness and Manchester’s Indie Week Europe. The band will be aiming to play more festivals in 2017 on the back of their impressively brilliant EP release, which is sure to capture new supporters in the industry and beyond.
Single, The Psychopath Test by Thula Borah is available to buy now with the full EP Near Life Experience set for release on 27th January 2017 via Kill Jester Records.

Tackling social issues her listeners can easily identify with, Be Charlotte creates vibrant, captivating music while skilfully integrating intelligent, affecting songwriting. This is evident on One Drop, co-produced by Charlotte and Marcus Mackay (DrivingBell lounge) which was inspired by the sense of being unable to clearly see what’s in front of you, capturing the idea that, once something is done, it can’t be changed. Ultimately, the way we deal with the situation, finding solutions along the way, is more important than the problem itself.
Her unorthodox approach has picked up a well of support; Be Charlotte have already charted in the viral Top 50 on Spotify, been playlisted on Radio X’s evening playlist and accrued support at BBC Radio 1.
Comprised of Charlotte (programming, guitar, keys, vocals), James Smith (keyboard, bass) and David Calder (drums), the trio recently returned from a tour of South East Asia playing in Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong, as well as spending two weeks recording at Karma Studios where The Libertines and Placebo recently recorded their albums. Bookending a successful year, Be Charlotte have received acclaim from Huw Stephens and Radio X, and have been confirmed to play SXSW 2017 in Austin, Texas. They have also been named one of The Great Escape’s First Fifty and have been chosen as one of only two acts representing the BBC at Eurosonic Festival. Be Charlotte is due to appear on the BBC Introducing Stage at Eurosonic on Friday January 13th 2017 and, as if this wasn’t enough, she was invited to play at the world famous Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh at the end of 2016 alongside Paolo Nutini, The Charlatans and Frightened Rabbit.
One Drop by Be Charlotte is due for release on 20th January 2017 via AWAL / Kobalt Label Service and is available to stream on Spotify now.
Rainbrother reveal latest single ‘Blue’!

“...endearing, touching and memorable...”
- Drowned in Sound
“...a real treat - pastoral, poetic, and idiosyncratic.”
- Clash
Danish five-piece Rainbrother have shared their second single Blue, taken from debut album Tales From The Drought, which is out on 3rd February 2017 and available to pre-order on Bandcamp now.
The single premiered on Clash and is also available to stream on their Soundcloud page.
After the success of psychedelic folk outfit The Migrant, frontman Bjarke Bendtsen is ready to transcend furthermore into electronic folk-rock territory with the release of his latest project Rainbrother’s debut album.
Tales From The Drought is all about making your way whilst on the road, dwelling on memories both beautiful and troublesome and coming to terms with the decisions that have been made. Album opener ‘Riverside’ is a stunning piece of songwriting that carries you away into the abyss and as the album continues, so do your thoughts. Each one a little more comforting than the next. Tales From The Drought invites the listener into a speckled dream, filled with steady beats, wistful Pink Floyd inspired guitar slides and a storytelling charm akin to the likes of Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver.
Rainbrother was formed after Bjarke eventually found his way back to Copenhagen. While touring with The Migrant in Europe, he performed with a group of fellow Danish musicians and after moving back to his home turf, Rainbrother was born. The album was produced by Noah Georgeson (The Strokes, Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart) whose flickering elements have been spun into the group’s tight rock sound making Tales From The Drought both an earthy and elevating affair.
Bjarke has already received praise from numerous well-regarded publications including Rolling Stone, Americana UK, Drowned In Sound and Pop Matters to name but a few. He has also been praised by the likes of BBC 6music’s Lauren Laverne and has supported acts such as Kurt Vile, Villagers and Sharon Van Etton. Rainbrother will also be performing at the upcoming SXSW festival in 2017 along with the following live dates:
22nd February 2017 - Paper Dress Vintage - London
23rd February 2017 - Castle Hotel - Manchester
24th February 2017 - The Glad Cafe - Glasgow
Rainbrother's previous single Break Out is out now and available on iTunes and Spotify. Tales From The Drought is out on 3rd February 2017 and is available to pre-order on Bandcamp.
