"... amazing crossover of electro rock... " - XFM
”... pummeling, rocked-up electro…” - Sunday Mail
Innovative, rule-breaking Scottish band Crash Club have shared new track 'Chemicals' feat. Dougie Mickey 9's ahead of the release of their debut EP C.C.101 released on 2nd December 2016 via Samba Hut Records.
The track premiered on Gigslutz and is available to stream now via Crash Club's Soundcloud page.
You can also watch the video for the band's last single Pennydrop via Crash Club’s YouTube channel.
Consisting of brothers Aran and Neal McHarg, with cousins Sammy and Colin, Crash Club are proving to be one of the most exciting bands around. In the last year alone, they were voted ‘Best Electronic Artist’ at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards, played a blinding set at Isle of Wight Festival, performed at a buzzing sold-out show in Glasgow’s Stereo and returned to T In The Park for a second year running.
With no one permanent vocalist, Crash Club expertly introduce a collection of session pals onto tracks inspired by the New York dance scene to really light up their Scottish electro-rock sound. And they’ve crafted that sound through influences ranging from the wide realms of the XTRMNTR work of Primal Scream to the Chemical Brothers with a heavy 90s Leftfield influence amongst it all.
With the melting pot of session guests including Ian Mackinnon of Medicine Men and Tony Costello of Tijuana Bibles, the band skilfully fuse together influences from rock and dance, creating a sound that’s truly unique. Imagine the groove of DFA or Soulwax with a rock ’n’ roll twist.
Having received acclaim from the likes of Louder Than War, Sunday Mail, Tenement TV and XFM Scotland, it’s not just the press that are singing their praises but their peers as well; Kasabian, The Klaxons, The Whip, Jagwar Ma and many more have been raving about Crash Club.
The first in a series of releases, C.C.101, the forthcoming debut EP from Crash Club is out on 2nd December 2016 via Samba Hut Records.

Sludge-pop three piece Rootwork have released their fabulous EP Some Of Us May Never Bloom out now via Ubiquity Project Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
The full EP premiered exclusively on The Sludge Lord, following on from the release of free download track ‘Trust’, the EP opener, which premiered exclusively on Punktastic. The track is available to stream and download via the ABoF Soundcloud page.
Rootwork continued to enhance their reputation with the recent release of single Zero, featuring huge riffs, straddled beautifully by gorgeous harmonic vocals as the track rocks and sways, leading into a savage outro. The video premiered on German online rock site Visions Magazine and is now available to watch via Rootwork's YouTube channel.
Creating a sound that is as brutal as it is harmonic, Rootwork have embraced many of the elements of modern metal music perfectly taking the listener on a journey through metal, stoner rock, prog, post-hardcore and doom-pop over five faultlessly comprised songs. This is evident on the aforementioned 'Trust', while songs such as ‘Ozymandias’ is akin to being lost in a sonic maze; riffs twist and turn throughout as Rootwork pulverise their way through just over six minutes worth of mesmerising melodies, before closing with a gorgeous dream-like outro. Intelligent, challenging, explosive yet intricate, and technically gifted, Rootwork are a band whose resonance should be felt throughout the alternative rock community much like contemporaries such as Baroness and Torche.
Comprised of Max Woodhams (guitar, vocals), Jamie Benzine (bass, backing vocals) and Chris Booth (drums, vocals), the band formed in Farnborough towards the end of 2013 having come together through their mutual love of heavy, melodic and complex rock music. In December 2015 they released their first full length EP which picked up support from the likes of Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing. With the wind in their sails the band quickly followed the EP release with single Code Talker, the video premiering on Team Rock. Rootwork have continued to develop their sound and grow as a band, really hitting their stride on Some Of Us May Never Bloom, further impressing the rock and metal press, and picking up more and more support with every new release.
Some Of Us May Never Bloom by Rootwork is out now via Ubiquity Project Records and is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.

The video for the band's latest single Domino premiered on A Music Blog, Yea? and is also available to watch on Animal House's YouTube channel.
Alternatively, the audio for the single premiered on Gigslutz and you can also stream the track via the band's Soundcloud page now.
Having already received critical acclaim for their single English Girls, Animal House’s new EP is filled with witty lyrical storytelling, racing riffs and infectious choruses. With its undeniably catchy, high-energy garage-infused sound, reminiscent of the likes of The Strokes and The Raconteurs, Sorry oozes a welcome tongue-in-cheek attitude.
Animal House explains that Sorry is an “apology to our parents, friends, past employers who put their faith in us to lead a sweet and comfortable life in Aus and instead we’ve blown all that on a shot at making music”. Remembering the hedonistic adventures they’ve had whilst making music, the band admit they’re actually ‘not sorry’, and revel in the fun they’ve been having in the UK on each vibrant and uptempo track.
Finally settled in the UK, Animal House have already supported the likes of Courtney Barnett, Surfer Blood and Drenge to name a few. They have also received praise from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Sean Keaveny, NME, DIY and Clash. They now hope to continue charming listeners with their “stupid garage pop songs” on Sorry.
To celebrate the release of Sorry, you can catch Animal House live in the UK on 29th November 2016 at Birthdays - London for free.
Animal House's EP Sorry is out now and available to buy via iTunes and stream on Spotify.
