Shvllows release new single ‘Zurich’!

"...an impeccable sense of melody." - Clash
"...a prospect who're impossible to ignore."
- The Line of Best Fit
Edinburgh's Shvllows have released their latest single Zurich
via Choose Rude Records available via iTunes and Spotify.
The video for Zurich premiered on Clash and is available to watch now via Shvllows' YouTube channel.
Shvllows create uplifting, atmospheric pop, with Zurich combining soaring melodies and a synth-infused indie sound that has become the Edinburgh four piece's signature sound.
You can also stream Zurich now via the band's Soundcloud Page.
Zurich explores anxiety and self doubt, and the extreme lengths that people will go to overcome them, however the overall message is that no one is ever truly alone. The track itself is vibrant and uplifting in contrast to the lyrics. Shvllows write music that focuses on dissimilarities and allow the listener to create their own concepts.
The band have enjoyed a rapid rise from obscurity following the release and subsequent wide spread success of their debut single, Shake in April 2016. Amongst the band's supporters are BBC Radio Scotland’s Janice Forsyth and Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly, who featured Shake as his No.1 track of May 2016 in The Scottish Sun. During 2016 Shvllows rising success has been translated live with the band playing a sold out show at The Mash House in Edinburgh, followed by a headline slot at legendary venue King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.
The official Zurich single launch is at The Mash House in Edinburgh on October 15th.
Shvllows single Zurich is out now via Choose Rude Records available via iTunes and Spotify.
Introducing… Gallery Circus!

"...a raw, energy-fuelled slice of pop-rock."
- Gigslutz
Identical twins Daniel and Graeme Ross aka Gallery Circus are set to release their latest riff-infused single Club House Killer on October 14th 2016 via Think Tank? Records.
The single premiered on Gigslutz and you can also stream it via the band's Soundcloud page now.
Club House Killer kicks off with Daniel’s undeniably unique and infectious pop-rock vocal before his distortion-heavy guitar comes into play and turns everything on its head. As the song reaches it peak, it is oozing with an incredible raw energy akin to the likes of Royal Blood and Cold War Kids. Daniel explains “Club House Killer is a brutal story that depicts some of the characters we met when hanging out with a punk gang in Logan Square, Chicago. These guys swore by the punk rock motto: ‘Live fast, die young’ - It was a crazy situation, so we grabbed a few bottles of whiskey and joined in for a little taste!”.
Having played together in various bands all their lives, Daniel and Graeme eventually decided to form Gallery Circus while they were living in Chicago. Over the past year Gallery Circus have quickly built up a reputation as being one of the UK’s most formidable new live bands and have supported acts such as Hanni El Khatib, King Charles, Little Comets, Kill it Kid and Arcane Roots. This is the twins’ second release produced by Dan Austin (Pixies, Doves, Mallory Knox) and will coincide with their first headline tour this summer. The duo will also be releasing another single and EP later this year via Killing Moon.
Gallery Circus have already received praise from a pleather of well-regarded publications including The 405, The Crack and Q Magazine as well as BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Jen Long to name but a few. With Club House Killer the twins want to continue to spread their explosive sound across the UK and beyond.
Club House Killer is out on October 14th 2016 via Think Tank? Records.

Lowla release new track ‘Those Days Are Gone’!

"Pop that is unashamed to be pop, that is plastic, fantastic, and completely in your face.” - Clash
90s loving denim-clad pop duo Lowla have released new track Those Days Are Gone, taken from their forthcoming new EP Walls, due for release on 30th September 2016 via DIY.
Those Days Are Gone premiered on Ultimate Music and is available to listen to now via Lowla's Soundcloud page.
You can also watch Lowla's video for EP track 'Walls' via their YouTube channel now.
Lowla have set out to create a diverse and inspired collection of songs on their Walls EP. Their own unique brand of fun alt pop is ever present but the meaning behind the songs is a little more serious this time around with the girls focussing on relationships and the world around them but there are still some light-hearted moments in-between.
'Walls' flows with delicate harmonies, alongside grittier vocals, tribal beats and screeching riffs. Carrying topical themes of revolution and social awareness, the track is a step away from the romantic reflections of previous single 'Reckless' and sets out to look at the bigger picture. Of the track Lowla say: “‘Walls is all about the here and the now and the world that we live in. It's a very personal number for us. We truly believe in the power of people getting together and making a change.”
‘Those Days Are Gone’ is about a broken relationship and inner conflict whilst ‘Money Doesn’t Matter’ looks at the disparity between the classes - the rich becoming rich, whilst the poor struggle. However, the EP ends on a more positive note with ‘Electrified’ - the track asks us to focus on the positives in life, our relationships and the ones we love.
Meeting by chance when creative stylist Lara featured as a guest vocalist on a track that Lo was producing, Lowla was born and the pair continue to pride themselves on their musical and visually pioneering creations.
After the success of 'Reckless', Lowla aim to move forward into different territory with their latest EP and as pop artists, exploring more serious ground but with an undying love of denim. Some things never change!
Lowla’s EP Walls is released on 30th September 2016 via DIY.
Introducing… Tokyo Taboo!

London duo Tokyo Taboo’s debut album 6th Street Psychosis is out 25th November 2016 via TT Records. The album features ten tenacious, in-your-face tracks that combine the band’s rock and pop punk influences.
The duo comprise of singer Dolly Daggerz and guitarist Mike, who are joined by a band for their live shows. Dolly takes inspiration from iconic performers from Heart to David Bowie and Karen O and Mike simply loves a good riff. Tokyo Taboo is a perfect amalgamation of Dolly and Mike’s influences; inspired by Manga, Japanese culture, drag and 80s fashion, they are true performers, with an image that equals the intense vibrancy of what you hear on record.
The video for the band's previous single Make It Out Alive is available to watch now via Tokyo Taboo's YouTube channel.
You can also stream the single via the band's Soundcloud page.
Featuring hectic, heart-pounding hooks and soaring rock-inspired vocals, Tokyo Taboo cover a range of subjects on the album, which was recorded in Downtown LA. From Dolly’s quarter life crisis to politics and vulnerability, they aren’t afraid of smashing the expectations of ‘the industry’ whilst wearing their hearts on their sleeves - cuts, bruises, tears and all.
On the album, ’Bubbilicious’ is a racing, high-octane opener, whilst ‘Emotional Suicide’ is filled with an uptempo, feisty power and ‘N.A.R.C.I.S.M’ oozes brutal honesty, raw riffs and dark undertones. Meanwhile, single Make It Out Alive was inspired by the vote to bomb Syria and the feeling of frustration, hopelessness and anger Dolly felt, which seethe through the music as she spits and snarls each lyric over Mike’s raucous riffs.
Make It Out Alive gained support from the likes of Radio X and BBC Radio 1 and with 6th Street Psychosis out soon, Tokyo Taboo hope to bring their own brand of modern pop punk kicking and screaming into the public consciousness. You can catch the duo live at the following dates:
30th Sept - youbloomLA - Los Angeles
6th Oct - Molly Malone’s - Los Angeles
25th Nov - Album Launch Show - The Borderline - London
6th Street Psychosis is out November 25th 2016 via TT Records.
