Maria Kelly returns with new single ‘Stitches’!

Irish singer-songwriter Maria Kelly continues to soar as she exhibits her raw and intimate style through the release of Stitches, out on 7th October 2016 via Veta Records.

Stitches again displays Maria’s fragile vocal ability, as well as her capacity for bittersweet storytelling, as she effortlessly creates a sound the likes of Lucy Rose and Lisa Hannigan would be proud of. The single is an honest, plaintive track exploring themes of self-preservation and coming to terms with the inability to open up to your partner as a result of self- doubt and past experiences. Maria has always managed to absorb her listeners into her music due to her beautiful lyricism, evident once again on Stitches, which she has delightfully paired with an affective string arrangement throughout the track.
Growing up in Mayo, Ireland, Maria spent many years crafting and developing her sound into a stunning combination of delicate indie-folk. She has been writing music since the age of 10 and has already played numerous shows in both the UK and Ireland supporting the likes of Orla Gartland and Wyvern Lingo.
Maria has received praise from various online publications including Consequence of Sound, The Irish Times, Nialler9 and Radio X to name a few, and is currently working on new tracks for her next EP as well as developing her live sound in preparation for a hectic 2017.

The Beautiful Fear’s new single ‘Never Yesterday’ out now!

Brooklyn based artist Matthew Bannister, aka The Beautiful Fear, has released his latest single Never Yesterday, which is out now via Addictaclique Records. The single is taken from The Beautiful Fear's latest album One, the first instalment of a two part project.

Never Yesterday is an atmospheric track filled with beautiful piano melodies and heartfelt melancholic lyrics. Mixed by Metric and The Kills producer John O’Mahoney, it oozes a delicate, haunting beauty; Bannister describes the track as a “relationship collapse song” about falling out with a time, person and place. With shades of the emotive power akin to the likes of Radiohead and the dreamy poignancy of Pink Floyd, Never Yesterday flows with an emerging energy that subtly transforms into a powerful cinematic finale.
The Beautiful Fear was born out of Matthew Bannister’s desire to use music as a form of therapy and program, the artist name itself a term Bannister coined to convey the frightening yet beautiful changes required in life. In 2012 he began recording his recollections, dreams and musings together with Carl Negin. Having received acclaim from the likes of Morrissey co-writer Spencer Cobrin and Jools Holland’s musical director Phil Veacock, The Beautiful Fear have played a number of gigs across New York and now plan to release the second instalment of their concept album in 2017.

Scottish synth-pop four piece Rebel Westerns have released their hook-laden single Atomic Blonde, out now via Depot Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
Exploring themes of relationships, infidelity and the in built human desire that often propel us to make self destructive decisions, the indie-pop Edinburgh band manage to strike the right balance between contemporary pop music and the kind of neon tinted 80’s new wave that would have Molly Ringwood shaking her hips.

This followed the exclusive stream of Atomic Blonde, which premiered on Clash Magazine, and is now free to stream on Rebel Westerns' Soundcloud Page.
Encapsulating the very best traits of the band, Atomic Blonde opens with snapping drum beats playfully interacting with popping bass lines, lifted by soaring, melodic vocals and combined effortlessly with the uplifting sounds of synth dreamily washing over you.
Comprised of Dominic Thomson (vocals, guitar), Callum Munro (bass), Glen Gordon (keyboard) and Daniel Garvie (drums), the four school friends formed in 2014 after spending a number of years in various bands who were prevalent on the Scottish music scene. The decision to join forces was justified instantly with the band picking up support from the likes of Dermot O’leary’s BBC Radio 2 show, Amazing Radio, Jim Gellatly, The Scottish Sun, The List, Clash Magazine, EQ Music and Little Indie Blogs as well as playing sold out shows at King Tut’s and Cabaret Voltaire.
To celebrate the release of Atomic Blonde Rebel Westerns will be playing La Bell Angele in Edinburgh on 23rd September and will be following up the release with another single in November.

Big Boys Don't Cry is taken from Melissa's latest album In The Light, which charts the journey of how a girl from Canada met the love of her life in Las Vegas whilst attending a friend’s wedding. Little did she know, this meeting would change her life forever and she’d be relocating to the rural coasts of Devon as a result. Each track on the album showcases a different side to Bel, filled with the killer combination of infectious pop beats, powerful soul vocals and heartwarming ballads. Opening track ‘Real Tonight’ is an upbeat, funky rendition of ‘that’ night in Vegas, highlighting Melissa’s incredible ability to write an impressive pop hook akin to the likes of Meghan Trainor and Taylor Swift. Previous single Stay Gone along with tracks such as ‘Dirty Word’ captivate instantly with their contagious pop-infused melodies. Whereas title track ‘In The Light’ is a vulnerable ballad encapsulating the naked hope and fear of finding profound, visceral love.
Melissa grew up listening to soul, classic rock and draws inspiration from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Christina Aguilera amongst others. She also regularly receives creative support from producer/songwriter Justin Gray who has worked with artists such as Joss Stone, John Legend and Amy Winehouse and also produced Melissa’s album.
Melissa is certainly not afraid of hard work, having already released three albums over six years and played numerous live shows including Montreal’s Festiblues and supporting Juno Award winning Canadian artist Matthew Good. With In The Light Melissa has truly found her voice, promising her most vulnerable and electrifying album yet.

Eyes For You, taken from debut EP I See You In The Darkness, explores the feeling of suppression and how things can be seen as defeatist or unreachable. Tackling the subject with grace and dignity, EMILIE allows the music to speak for itself combining electro-pop beats and stunning ethereal vocals akin to the likes of London Grammar's Hannah Reid.
Currently based in Edinburgh, Emily dedicates her time solely to EMILIE. On all her tracks Emily performs vocals and synths herself with the help of a producer and drummer for percussion and sampling. She has already received praise from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, The Skinny, Songwriting Magazine and Amazing Radio to name but a few. Having played the Scottish live circuit for the past year, including a support slot with SG Lewis in Glasgow, Emily is ready to introduce the rest of the UK to her broody take on electro-pop.
