Introducing… Belle Mt.!

For fans of... Bon Iver, Local Natives, Ray LaMontagne

"...cinematic alt-pop..."

- Mahogany

Belle Mt. (pronounced 'Belle Mont’) are ready to pull at your heartstrings with the release of their enigmatic debut single Hollow, out now via LV Music, and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.

The single premiered on Mahogany and is now available to listen to via Belle Mt.'s Soundcloud page.

You can also watch Belle Mt. performing Hollow live for a Mahogany Session on YouTube.

A dark tale of a woman unable to let love in, Hollow flows with sweeping strings, delicate melodies and lead singer Matt Belmont’s soaring vocals. Exuding a cinematic, evocative power and rich layers, it’s an epic ballad with lyrics that echo the emotive storytelling charm of Leonard Cohen. Of the track and its protagonist, Belle Mt. explain: “There’s the impression of a fork in the road for this woman and ultimately she takes the tragic path, as she can’t accept the intimacy or love that this man is committed to giving…”

The concept of Belle Mt. was created during a period of Belmont’s withdrawal from public performances. During this time, he dedicated his time to introspective songwriting development, creating the basis of a sound which would eventually find its way into the hands of Nashville-based, Grammy Award winning producer Femke Weidema. The musical connection between the pair has resulted in a unique writing and production style, evident in the layered ambience and depth of this ethereal new single.

Now, having packed out a Nashville industry showcase at The Basement, as well as playing a Sofar Sounds set at London’s Amnesty International HQ this summer, Belle Mt. are ready to grace your ears with the rousing splendour of Hollow.

Hollow is out now via LV Music, and is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.

Introducing… Moviestar!

For fans of... Television, LCD Soundsystem, The Cramps, Super Mario

"...an adventurous and energetic single built on enthusiastic shifts that you wouldn’t expect..."
- IDIOTEQ

Intergalactic archeologists Moviestar prepare to astound and amaze with their new collection of sci-fi infused punk-rock tracks. Their debut album Stupid People / Happy Days is out on 9th February 2018 via Oh Yeah!.

Taken from the album, lead single Stupid People premiered on IDIOTEQ and is now available to stream via Moviestar's Soundcloud page.

Stupid People is a fuzz-filled, electro-punk anthem about people on earth. Infinity Vik explains “When we came through the wormhole, we were shocked to see how badly people treated the earth and each other. We realised that people just don't care!”. The track is instantly catchy from the offset, filled with a plethora of futuristic sounds and a shit ton of reverb.

Moviestar are like no other band on earth. Having formed in the future on planet Fenris, Infinity Vik, The Octopus Goddess and The Anaconda create their own unique version of art punk pop, filled with sonic twists and eccentric electronica throughout. The dynamic trio were chosen to go on a dangerous mission through space and time to retrieve “the stone” and save the world. Moviestar were then sent to Norway, the safest nation in the world, in the dreaded year of 2016.

Throughout the album, a cocktail of sounds are created by the eclectic threesome. Infinity Vik plays a disfigured guitar with only four strings, The Octopus Goddess plays an alluring 32 stringed instrument as well as a synth bass triggered by her toes and The Anaconda uses a child’s drum kit to create astounding, rhythmic soundscapes.

Moviestar are not just a band, they are a reality experience. Their live shows encompass performance, art, storytelling, fashion and music in a whole new transcending form. Infinity Vik is a true performer with an explosive stage presence, having been compared to being a female incarnation of the likes of David Bowie and Freddy Mercury. With Stupid People / Happy Days, Moviestar are ready to put the feeling of danger back into rock ’n’ roll.

Catch Moviestar live at the following dates:

October 6th - Blackmarket VIP, Hastings
October 7th - The Flower Pot, Maidstone

Run Rivers share new video for ‘Lost Love’!

For fans of... Bon Iver, RY X, James Vincent McMorrow

"...a faultless fusion of subtle folk

and electronic grandeur..."

- The Line of Best Fit

"...a pastoral electro-folk outfit cut from the same delicate cloth as Bon Iver, Willy Mason and Blue Rose Code."
- M Magazine

New electro-folk project Run Rivers are due to release their stunning, cinematic debut, Lost Love, out on 15th September 2017 via AWAL.

The video premiered on M Magazine and is now available to watch on the Run Rivers YouTube channel.

The single originally premiered on The Line of Best Fit and is also available to stream via Run Rivers' Soundcloud page now.

Fronted by Chris James, solo artist and former lead singer and key songwriter of electro-rock pioneers Stateless, the new single soars with atmospheric folk and subtle electronics. James explains, “it's about being thankful for the journey without getting too hung up on the destination, that's why I wrote: "do not swim straight to the shore, feel first the sensation of water”. Chris’ soft, warm vocal blends effortlessly within stunning harmonies and Matthew Kelly’s stirring string arrangement throughout. Musically, James combines influences from his Stateless days, fusing electronica with his deep love of folk. Inspired by songwriters such as Nick Drake, his compelling vocals take centre stage with epic atmospheres reminiscent of Bon Iver.

After living in east London for the past eight years, Chris met Lorna Rose (vocals) on the live circuit. Through Lorna, Chris was introduced to the east London folk scene where he met singer-songwriter Adam Beattie who lent his double bass skills to this track. While touring with DJ Shadow, Chris met up with producer Suneil Pusari (Michael Kiwanuka) who now produces and mixes for Run Rivers.

As part of Stateless, Chris has received praise from the likes of Uncut, MOJO, Clash and Q Magazine amongst others and their music has also been featured on an array of film and TV shows including Film 4, CSI, The Vampire Diaries and Suits. His various projects have gained him over 20 million Spotify plays. After months in the studio, Chris is excited to introduce his new project Run Rivers.

Lost Love is out on 15th September 2017 via AWAL.

Mt. Doubt announce new single ‘Mouthwash’ + live dates!

For fans of... The National, The Twilight Sad, The Birthday Suit

"...mixes stark, jangling guitars with

confessional lyricism..."

- Team Rock

"...emotive indie-tinged rock..."
- The List

"...distinctive vocals and accomplished songwriting..."
- The Scotsman

Following the success of their latest EP The Loneliness Of The TV Watchers, Edinburgh's Mt. Doubt are due to release their instantly infectious single, Mouthwash, on 15th September 2017 via Scottish Fiction Records.

The single premiered on The List as well as Roddy Hart's BBC Radio Scotland show and is also available to stream on Mt. Doubt's Soundcloud page now.

An uptempo sonic delight, Mouthwash is filled with jangling riffs and synth-filled melodies throughout. These are combined effortlessly with front-man Leo Bargery’s distinctively, deep baritone, sounding akin to the likes of The National’s Matt Berlinger. With the addition of some twinkling vocal harmonies and rich poetic lyricism, it’s a hugely infectious slice of indie-rock.

Of the track, Bargery explains: "I think of Mouthwash as a bit of a sister track to 'Reference Books' from our most recent EP. Whereas the former focuses on the lust-rush of forays into new relationships, Mouthwash, explores the opposite end of that experience; the gradual disintegration, the subsequent moping, the self-pity…”

Starting out as Leo Bargery’s solo project, Mt. Doubt has since expanded into a collective of five musicians, each bringing something unique to the table. Since the release of their critically acclaimed albums In Awe Of Nothing and My Past Is A Quiet Beast, and most recently The Loneliness Of The TV Watchers, Mt. Doubt have received praise from the likes of The Scotsman, The National and Team Rock, as well as BBC 6Music and BBC Radio Scotland to name but a few. They are also no strangers to the Scottish live circuit, having performed at T In the Park, Brew At The Bog and supported We Were Promised Jetpacks, Admiral Fallow and White Lies amongst others.

Catch Mt. Doubt live at the following dates:

14th September - The Tooth & Claw, Inverness (With Acrylic)
16th September - Single Launch - The 13th Note, Glasgow (with Acrylic & Life Model)
7th October - Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh (with Peaness & Tongue Trap)
13th October - Drummonds Aberdeen (with The Deportees & Broken Rivers)
18th November - SEALL, Isle Of Skye

Mouthwash by Mt. Doubt is out on 15th September 2017 via Scottish Fiction Records.

HVMM release debut EP ‘Talk To Me Like I’m Dead’!

For fans of... Jack White, The Kills, Led Zepellin, King Nun

"Heavy riffing with a blistering dose

of sarcasm..."

- Clash

"...a ferocious blast of thundering blues rock with a spine of
steel."

- Classic Rock

"... a distinct, inspired swagger..."
- Gigslutz

Worcester’s apoplectic rockers HVMM have released their debut EP Talk To Me like I’m Dead, out now via ILA. To celebrate the release, the EP premiered on Punk News and is also available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify now.

The band's video for their single Going Postal premiered on Clash and is now available to watch on the HVMM YouTube channel.

The band previously shared the audio for Going Postal, which premiered on Classic Rock and is also available to stream via the HVMM Soundcloud page along with Beggars and Thieves now.

Kicking-off with their ferocious first single Lacerate, HVMM combine blues rock influences with eerie bass lines and melodic riffs to create something truly powerful. Lead singer Andy Teece’s sharp, distinctive vocal steals the show, sounding akin to the likes of Jack White or Rage Against the Machine’s Zach De La Rocha. Double a-side single Beggars and Thieves / Going Postal continues the band’s anachronistic and subversive themes with Beggars and Thieves slamming head first into unapologetic, heavy-laced rock and Going Postal’s impressively slick vocals from lead guitarist Ebony Clay complimenting Andy’s charged sound perfectly.

“Try limiting any preconceived ideas when listening to the tracks and enjoy them for what they may or may not be to you,” Andy explains and goes on to say, “or choose to get suckered in by some standard marketing bullshit to help lead you down the road like a two-year-old, needing constant guidance when learning to use a knife and fork”.

Having met as a result of an unexplained scuffle in a county pub, Andy and Sam Jenkins (drums) formed the band in 2015. Andy and Ebony then went on to meet as a result of Ebony approaching him in his favourite coffee shop and after a caffeine- induced conversation followed by alcohol, Ebony found herself in the band. Ebony then called upon her old friend Jack Timmis (bass) and the line up was complete. Although the band are still new to the scene, their irrepressible and unforgettable presence on the live circuit, which is epitomised by their relentless energy, has seen them become the first British act signed to US label ILA.

With Talk To Me Like I’m Dead there are no fucks given and HVMM are ready to share their raucous, terrifying sound with the rest of the world.

HVMM will be playing their first London headline show - now sold out - here:

22nd November - Sebright Arms - London

Talk To Me Like I’m Dead is out now via ILA and is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify now.
