rock bands.”

Following last year’s acclaimed album KIN and November's EP Serenade, The Duke Spirit march on with poignant new album Sky Is Mine, released on 18th August 2017 via Ex Voto Records. The album is available to pre-order now.
The band have revealed the second track to be taken from the album is In Breath, which premiered on Wonderland Magazine and is now available to stream on The Duke Spirit's Soundcloud page.
Produced by the band themselves, and mixed by Bruno Ellingham (Massive Attack), the album also features guest vocals by long time friends Josh T Pearson (Lift to Experience) on the woozy ‘How Could, How Come’, and Duke Garwood on album closer ‘Broken Dream’.
On Sky Is Mine each song approaches, revises, steps back and looks for humanity on a planetary scale. From the shimmering melodies and prodigious power of tracks like Magenta and ‘See Power’ to the energy-fuelled psychedelic rock of ‘Houses’ and ‘Yoyo’, the album flows with a dark, beguiling grandeur with the majestic allure of Liela Moss’ crystal vocals. Sky Is Mine looks at harm, control and lack of love but burns through it to find the essential human heart.
Talking about the album, front-woman Liela Moss explains: "Sonically, it's the most tender record we have made, the expansiveness will lift hearts but the rawness will burn through greedy fingers. Lyrically, this is where I stand... With feet cold and wet from standing in the sludge of fear that is the world we tread upon, this album snapshots a palpitating heart that values above all things, life. Half-finished sentences describe nasty bits and pieces, shards of cruelty as they are dissolved by being pissed on from a great height with a stream of golden, glowing benevolence!"
Continuing to prove themselves as one of the UK’s most enduring and distinctive rock acts, The Duke Spirit are known for their captivating live shows and will continue to hypnotise listeners with the sweeping power of Sky Is Mine.
Catch the band live at the following dates:

The Van T’s share new video for ‘Fresh Meat’!
“...music that deserves to be played
at ear-threatening decibels to as
many people as possible.” - Noisey
"... untameable Gordian knots of noise and forays into psychedelic fuzz..." - The Line Of Best Fit
"...a surf rock band, but only if your idea of surfing involves getting pummeled by a giant wave..."
- Consequence of Sound“...sounding big, drenched in feedback...”
- Huw Stephens BBC Introducing
Glasgow based four-piece The Van T’s have imposed their reverb-laden brand of alt.rock upon the musical landscape over the past twelve months or so. Their relentless sound has resonated on both sides of the Atlantic; picking up impressive support both at home in the UK and Europe as well as some of the most notable North American tastemakers. The Van T’s continue their impressive run of releases with their new single Fresh Meat, which is out now via LAB Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream via Spotify.
The video for the single premiered on Upset and is now available to stream on The Van T's YouTube channel.
Caustic, jagged yet endearingly melodic, The Van T’s are one of the most exciting young bands to emerge from the Scottish music scene in quite some time. Fresh Meat further enhances The Van T’s burgeoning reputation. Waves of gutsy, riff-driven guitar soundscapes wash over you and are accented beautifully by a rhythm section creating foot-tapping, hip-shaking grooves, neatly fused together by the effected harmonised vocals bleeding out from the speakers.
The audio for Fresh Meat premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and is available to listen to via LAB Records' Soundcloud page.
Comprised of twin sisters Hannah and Chloe Van Thompson (guitar, vocals), Joanne Forbes (bass) and Shaun Hood (drums), 2016 was a breakout year for the band. Premieres on the likes of Huw Stephens' BBC Radio Introducing show, Noisey, Consequence of Sound, Clash Magazine and Dork were followed by support slots with Yuck and Rat Boy as well as appearances at T in The Park, where they headlined the BBC Introducing Stage, Electric Fields, Wide Days and Stag and Dagger. 2017 has seen the band continue to make their mark having supported The Jesus And Mary Chain in Amsterdam at the renowned venue Paradiso, as well as Clean Cut Kid at London’s Scala and performing a two day stint at the Great Escape Festival.
Fresh Meat by The Van T’s is out now via LAB Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream via Spotify.
HAWK release new single ‘Sin’!
“…waves of heavy percussion and
intertwining riffs." - DIY
"... a raucous dip into empowerment..." - The Line Of Best Fit
“…stunning…” - Noisey
HAWK are back with another truly majestic release, combining an abrasive edge with celestial vocals and activism at its core. Their new single Sin is out now via Veta Records and is available to buy on iTunes and stream on
Spotify.
The audio for the single premiered exclusively on The Line Of Best Fit and is available to stream on Soundcloud now.
Sin addresses the need to embrace female sexuality and autonomy, instead of demonising it or ignoring it full stop. The track is propelled forwards by front woman Julie Hawk’s poignant, crystal-clear vocals and twinkling hooks, oozing a sweeping grandeur throughout. Filled with an empowering grace, Sin asserts that we should be proud of being sexual and recognise the power of consent. It’s about stepping out of an age old framework that women should be ashamed of promiscuity or expressing self-love. Julie explains “it’s shouting about embracing our feelings, our cravings, our pasts, and even our mistakes, as we define them. We wear them on our skin and let them empower us as women”.
HAWK originally formed in London in 2014 to hone their unique style of grunge-filled indie. They now produce all music themselves and have also recently started working with Rocky O’Reilly (And So I Watch You From Afar) to help develop their post-rock sound.
Since the release of critically acclaimed singles such as Take It Away, Mirror Maze and Once Told, HAWK have received support from Noisey, Stereogum, Wonderland, DIY and The Line Of Best Fit to name but a few. Their music covers a range of topics including inequality, gender-preconceptions, and generalisations faced by different social groups whilst still managing to exude a dreamy, haunting elegance with each offering.
Sin is out now via Veta Records and is available to buy on iTunes and stream via Spotify.
Greta Isaac reveals new video for ‘Comfortable’!
"A superbly crafted, glitchy electro-pop song which marries folk-instrumentation with electronic experimentation..."
- Mahogany
"… acoustic instrumentation, textured samples and soaring vocals...”
- The Line Of Best Fit
Hailing from South Wales, London based artist Greta Isaac has released her new single Comfortable, which is available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes now.
The video premiered on Mahogany and is now available to stream on Greta Isaac's YouTube channel.
The project as a whole is an exploration into habits and destructive human tendencies; each song explores and exaggerates a different unhealthy trait from the perspective of a neurotic character. Comfortable explores apathy and selfishness.
The track features cleverly written, glitchy electro-pop akin to artists like Grimes and it’s a change in direction for Isaac who’s always had an affinity to her folk roots. However, with this latest project, Isaac amalgamates folk-inspired instrumentation with unsettling beats and innovative electronic experimentation, creating a fresh new sound and this is prevalent in Comfortable.
The audio for Comfortable premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and you can also listen to it now via Greta Isaac's Soundcloud page.
With demand building, Greta is set to debut this project live at a secret London show on 5th September followed by a return to Wales to play at Festival No.6. She’s already gained the attention from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Clash, The Line of Best Fit and The 405 and she’s set to seduce listeners further with this intriguing blend of electro folk.
Comfortable is out now and is available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes.
Tryptamines unveil new video for ‘More Unforgotten Friends’!
"...a luscious soundscape that
wouldn't seem out of place in an
indie flick." - The List
“...full of sadness and ambiguous grace." - Podcart
"A truly majestic offering..." - Gigslutz
Experimental Scottish band Tryptamines have unveiled their brand new video for More Unforgotten Friends, which featured on the highly anticipated concept album, The Way Which Can Be Named Is Not The Nameless Way, out now via FitLike Records and available to buy on Bandcamp.
The video premiered on The List and is available to stream via the Tryptamines YouTube channel.
Tryptamines have previously released A Landslide O Tiny Robots, premiering on Gigslutz and 'This Is My Feelings', which premiered on Podcart. Both tracks are available to stream on the Tryptamines Soundcloud page now.
Tryptamines are aiming to build upon their recent success having been voted Best Eclectic EP at the 2016 Independent Music Awards, judged by the likes of Tom Waits, Slayer and Suzanne Vega. It comes as no surprise that some of the world’s most respected musicians voted for the band considering their expansive approach to songwriting, arrangement and recording which has a grandeur more associated with classical music. On The Way Which Can Be Named Is Not The Nameless Way, Tryptamines have created an avant chamber-like sound: emotive, affecting and truly beguiling, evoking memories of band's such as Bing & Ruth, Dirty Three and Rachel's.
Written as a concept album, Tryptamines have tried to engage the listener in an almost apocalyptic narrative, apt considering the current mood permeating the day to day lives of many people around the world. Asserting that 1984 was written as a warning rather than an instruction manual, Tryptamines have challenged the listener to think for ones self, not to believe everything that we are fed by a corrupt, corporate media and to resist becoming too reliant on engaging with one another through technological means as opposed to real life experiences. The Name That Can Be Named Is Not The Nameless Way is a are a cathartic, poignant and, at times, challenging experience knitted together beautifully by the classically trained Callum Peterkin’s talented songwriting ability.
Originally hailing from Buckie on the Moray Firth coast of Scotland, Trypatmines are led by composer, multi-instrumentalist and doric poet Callum Peterkin (aka Chemical Callum) and joined by Tom the Noise Monger (vocals, samples, guitars), Tiny Broken Keyboards (echoes, noises), Fox Beats (drums, bass guitar, baritone), Ignatious D Funt (guitar, synth) and Mophamish (sound production, design). Remarkably, the band were almost finished before they had even begun after Callum suffered a horrific injury to his arm in 2011, with doctors advising he would never fully recover due to the nerve damage his arm suffered. However, after battling a painkiller addiction, depression and a cancer scare, Callum battled against the odds to rebuild his arm, his life and music career. Fast forward six years and Tryptamines have established themselves both at home and abroad, performing at a number of psychedelic festivals, releasing several records and, ultimately, gaining recognition at last years Independent Music Awards.
The Way Which Can Be Named Is Not The Nameless Way by Tryptamines is out now via FitLike Records and available to buy on Bandcamp.
