"...biting yet plaintive indie

songwriting..."

- Clash

"Gritty, poetic descriptions of life up
north..."
- The Guardian

Having released their debut album Well Well Well ten years ago, Sheffield indie rockers Milburn return with their latest single Take Me Home, out now via Red Essential. It is available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes.

The single premiered on Clash and you can listen to it now via the band's Soundcloud page.

Known as the band who helped kick start the Sheffield revival alongside the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Milburn’s new single feels refreshingly modern. After being away for ten years, Milburn recently reformed due to overwhelming popular demand. As a result, the band have sold out four massive anniversary shows in their hometown with a combined capacity of 10,000 tickets sold in under 5 minutes and a further 11,000 tickets for a sold out UK tour. They have also announced a 12,000 capacity hometown show on 2nd June 2017 at Don Valley Bowl with support from Reverend & The Makers and Cabbage.

The show will celebrate the release of the band’s new single and the upcoming release of their third studio album, which has been recorded in Liverpool with help from critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Bill Ryder-Jones.

Catch Milburn live at the following dates:

28th May - Sound City - Liverpool
2nd June - Don Valley Bowl - Sheffield

For fans of... Lapsley, The Knife, Goldfrapp

"... a completely mesmerising

experience..."

- Wonderland

“... blissful synth-pop with dreamy, almost shoegaze, harmonies…”
- Clash

Portuguese duo Ed Rocha Gonçalves and Catarina Salinas - aka Best Youth - have re-released their debut album Highway Moon via Station 5. The album is available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes now.

Taken from the album, latest single Sunbird premiered on Wonderland and you can listen to it now via Best Youth's Soundcloud page.

You can also watch the video for previous single Renaissance via the band's YouTube channel.

Filled with reflections on love, sex, doubt and insecurities in the modern world, Highway Moon is a collection of dreamy, electro-fused creations. From the delicate ethereal melodies of single Renaissance and the sensual, laid-back vibes of ‘Black Eyes’, to the twinkling, synth-heavy melodies and driving beats of the likes of ‘Ride’, each track is a sweeping, effervescent indie-pop delight. With Salinas’ silky-smooth vocals flowing throughout and shades of nostalgic 80s pop, Highway Moon will capture the hearts of many.

Having previously played together in the band Genius Loki, Gonçalves and Salinas formed Best Youth back in 2011 although the pair have been playing music together since their teens. They topped radio charts with their 2012 single Hang Out, have played festivals such as Optimus Primavera SoundNOS Alive and Paredes de Coura, opened for Father John Misty and received acclaim from the likes of Clash and Mahogany. With their debut album having sold out in Portugal back in 2016, the duo look set to gather many new followers with its worldwide re-release this year.

Stars and Rabbit reveal new ‘Man Upon The Hill’ video!

“...a truly spectacular piece of

forward-thinking folk."

- The Line Of Best Fit

For fans of... Joanna Newsom, Björk, Emiliana Torrini, First Aid Kit

Indonesian folk-pop duo Stars and Rabbit have unveiled their magical new video for single
Man Upon The Hill, out now via Green Island Music. The single is taken from the band's debut album Constellation, which is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify now.

The enchanting new video is available to watch now via the band's YouTube channel.

The video is a feast for the eyes; visually stunning from the offset, framing the captivating lead singer Elda Suryani and guitarist Adi Widodo in numerous ethereal landscapes in their native Indonesia. This video was directed by Bona Palma, in collaboration with senior D.O.P Arief Pribadi, telling the story of two separate entities unwittingly interconnected by time and space. “Being in nature connects you to your own deepest thoughts and feelings and only through that can you really listen to them." explains Elda, ”the song was created out in the open, in nature, therefore the music video needed to be echo those same feelings”.

Man Upon The Hill originally premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and is available to stream via the Stars and Rabbit Soundcloud page.

Man Upon The Hill is a whimsical folk tale about a man on top of a hill who is accepting reality, letting go of his past and moving on. Lead singer Elda Suryani’s incredibly unique vocal carries the song effortlessly and conjures memories of gifted female vocalists such as Björk, Lamb and CoCoRosie. Combining her enchanting vocals with guitarist Adi Widodo’s stunning musical arrangement, Man Upon The Hill is a wonderfully quirky track, filled with dream-like qualities that fans of Emiliana Torrini and First Aid Kit will identify with.

The duo formed in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2011 when Elda enlisted the skills of Adi to help her with her songwriting. As their songwriting thrived and compositions began to take shape, the pair decided to come up with a band name, settling on Stars and Rabbit, and the rest, as they say, is history. Since the release of previous singles Worth It and The House, the band have continued to create a name for themselves in their home country, where they have a huge reputation, gaining support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit and IDOL Magazine in the UK as well as Indonesia's Rolling Stone Magazine and The Beat Magazine amongst many others.

Man Upon The Hill by Stars and Rabbit is out now via Green Island Music. Their debut album Constellation is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify now.

Introducing… Stalagmites!

For fans of... The Stone Roses, Editors, Interpol, Foals

"Like a lone voice in the dark."

- Steve Lamacq, BBC 6Music

Manchester’s Stalagmites present their captivating blend of alt-indie and dark pop with the release of their debut single Binary, out on 9th June 2017 via Veta Records.

The single is available to stream and download via the band's Soundcloud page now.

Lead singer Bradley Lynch explains Binary is about “coming from a dark place and finding a way out, hoping it might be a simple switch but knowing it’s much more than that”. As each instrument comes together, new layers are added bringing fuzzy guitars, melodic bass and minimalist electronics together. The feeling is almost hypnotic, sitting perfectly alongside Bradley’s warm and melancholic vocals.

Bradley (lead vocals / bass) and Alex Hardman (guitar) initially formed Stalagmites at school in Salford in 2010. After their first drummer left, they found Nick Toft (drums) two years later, immediately fitting right in with the lads’ personalities, wider musical tastes and discipline. The trio have already received praise from the likes of BBC 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and Radio X’s John Kennedy to name but a few.

Stalagmites have signed to London’s Veta Records for the release of Binary, with more material to come later this year.

Binary is out 9th June 2017 via Veta Records.
