EyeSeeSound Live Session: Ex Libras!

EyeSeeSound have recorded a wonderful live session and interview with the coolest band on the block, Ex Libras.

The video includes the tracks Underachiever, Sum Numbers and Radar, and was beautifully shot by the EyeSeeSound guys at The Luminaire.

You can watch the live session HERE.

This is a prelude to the Ex Libras' "The EyeSeeSound Session" DVD EP which will be out to buy on July 26th for a measly £5.

Here, EyeSeeSound have created a new and exciting music format where each DVD EP is beautifully packaged and designed as a singular piece of art reflecting the band and their music.

This release includes storming live interpretations of 4 tracks taken from their debut album, as well as one new and previously unreleased song, Magical Mervyn, which is an integral part of their live set. The style of the edit and grading also takes the visuals away from traditional live performance footage to create an artistic and beautiful 30-minute live performance.

Phantom: “Voodoo Romantic” free single release!

Phantom's Elsie and Jonny

"The aural equivalent of a black cat sneaking across silk sheets..."

- Q Magazine

Phantom release a free download only single - Voodoo Romantic - on 2nd August 2010. This will be the band's second single but the first to be released from their forthcoming debut album Smoke & Mirrors. The album us out on La Nausée Records on August 16th 2010.

The album creates a new percussive landscape for their music. They used recordings of places, objects and sounds found organically around them, both familiar and alien: an antique typewriter thump, the flap of a letter dropping through a letter box, heels clicking on concrete, the Mars Space Rover rumbling across the surface of the red planet. Each sound has been carefully treated and morphed into a rhythm to support compositions.

Voodoo Romantic uses these aforementioned sounds and builds into an incredibly haunting crescendo with Elsie’s unique and sensual tones calling out over the echoes and beats. The single is akin to the sound of The Cure with the tone similar to the seminal band’s brooding, somber album Faith.

You can download the single from the band's brand new
official website. The single is available to download via the home page or the music page of the website.

You can also stream the single from HERE, their website or the player below. If you're having trouble seeing this player then click here (download also available via this link).
