Watch Gene Serene’s video for ‘Travel A Million Miles’!

"Blissfully experimental..."- Clash
Gene Serene has released a video for 'Travel A Million Miles', a track taken from her debut album, The Polaris Experience.
'Travel A Million Miles' premiered on GigSlutz, who described the video as "another twinkling slice of melodic electronica." You can watch it via Gene Serene's YouTube channel.
You can also stream the track via Gene's SoundCloud page.
The video for single Weightlessness premiered on Clash Magazine's website and you can watch it now on YouTube.
Inspired by the Mars One project, where members of the public have been given the chance to sign up for a one way ticket to the red planet, The Polaris Experience tells the age old story of boy meets girl, of true connections and love as the technological singularity takes place and the world becomes increasingly toxic to mankind. As war ensues, the star crossed lovers are offered an escape route that will take them off the Earth. Placed in suspended animation and heading away from their celestial home, songs such as ‘Hold Me’ and ‘Upload’ explore the emotions and connections experienced in a technologically superior and interstellar future, existing outside of space and time.
With a sound that owes as much to prog staples Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa and Cardiacs as it does stylistically to Goldfrapp and St Vincent, The Polaris Experience is a stellar addition to the oeuvre of intelligent, vocally driven electronica.
The Polaris Experienceis a concept album in the classic sense of the word, and Gene Serene enlisted the help of producer and sound engineer Bob Earland (Radiophonic Workshop, Clor) who co-wrote and co-produced the album, providing Gene with a sample library and the tools to create something brilliant.

The Polaris Experience is out now via Duchess Box Records and available to buy digitally on iTunes.
We’re No Heroes single ‘Voodoo’ out now!

"Shifty disco beats, syncopated guitars and flawless vocalpassing."
- The 405
- The 405
We’re No Heroes' single Voodoo is out now via Spiral Icon. You can buy it on Google Play.
The video for Voodoo premiered on Stereoboard who described it as "the sort of indie-pop song designed to rattle around countless late afternoon singalongs and the accompanying lost nights." You can watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.
You can also stream the single via the Spiral Icon SoundCloud page.
Voodoo is a punk and math rock inspired belter, but its origins come from a very personal place. Lyrically, it captures the uncertainty following a painful break up, and the need to move on into the unknown before being able to truly find happiness. While the theme may sound heavy duty, the upbeat guitar and driving vocals creates a truly accomplished party song.
The lively Cardiff 3-piece draw influence from the raw and aggressive motion of punk and indie but fuse it with the deep grooves, melody & soul of their favourite funk acts, cementing a real & exciting approach to pop music that resonates strong with their dedicated fan base who name themselves the WNH Wolfpack. Originally formed in a downtown studio space in Chicago, the band are Tom Collins (vocals & guitar), Luke Llewellyn (drums & vocals) and Michael Owen (bass & Vocals. Having known each other since childhood, their close connection shows in everything they do from their performances to their hands on approach to the loyal fans who extend past the borders of the UK and around the world.
We’re No Heroes have played alongside the likes of Public Service Broadcast, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Future Of The Left (to name but a few), and plan to spend the rest of the summer playing a host of UK festivals before releasing their next single Stay Weird in September.
Voodoo is out now via Spiral Icon and available to buy on Google Play.

"...as blissful as they are boisterous." - NME
"This is slick, modern kraut for an uneasy Britain..." - The Skinny
Following up their sonically intense Pink/Blue EP, Outblinker are back with free track, 'Pink (Machines In Heaven MIX)'.
The song premiered on State.ie who called it "positively savage." You can stream and download it now via the ABoF SoundCloud Page.
The Skinny premiered the video for EP track 'Blue', describing it as "tripped out and politically emblematic" before asking the band to talk them through the footage. You can watch it now via the band's
YouTube channel.
Alongside choice contemporaries, Outblinker are looking to bring electro, krautrock and new-wave back to the underground. Up close and personal. No laptops. No safety net. So it follows all aspects of Outblinker (including recording, production, videos, art) handled in-house or via close friends, such as Good Grief Records who will be releasing the forthcoming EP, PR collaborators A Badge of Friendship or Ben Powers (Fuck Buttons/Blanck Mass) who will be producing the group’s debut album this autumn. The emphasis is on side-stepping the inherent bullshit-machine of the modern industry as often as humanly possible.
The EP has already received support from the likes of NME and The Skinny, so if you enjoy the sounds of Holy Fuck, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Marvin, Fuck Buttons/Blanck Mass, Trans Am, Neu! and Turing Machine, then chances are you might get a kick out of this.
The Antoni Maiovvi remix of EP track 'Blue' is also available to download for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page, and you can watch Outblinker's
video for 'Pink' on their YouTube channel.
Pink/Blue by Outblinker is released via Good Grief Records / GabuAsso and available to buy digitally on iTunes and on limited edition 10" vinyl via Bandcamp.
Watch James Mackenzie’s video for ‘Maybe’!

James Mackenzie has released the video for 'Maybe', a track taken from his forthcoming EP Winter out 14th August 2015 via Tornface Music.
The video premiered on GigSlutz who described it as "Heartwarming", and you can watch it now via James Mackenzie's YouTube channel.
You can also stream and download 'Maybe' for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page.
James deals in heartfelt lyrics and sumptuous guitar melodies. On Winter he has chosen to take listeners on a journey through some of the most private moments of his life, opening up his heart for all to see and casting a probing eye on past failed relationships, and how they helped form the man that he is today. Instead of pure introspection, James steps outside of himself, with the help of co-writer Chris Gorman, to gain better perspective and deeper understanding.
With Influences ranging from Neil Young to Charlie Simpson, along with a long-lasting love affair with heavy metal, James’ sound undulates between the accessibility of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and the passion of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, landing somewhere in the middle to create something truly unique. He’s already received support from the likes of BBC Introducing’s Ally McCrae as well as XFM’s Jim Gellatly and The Daily Record, and has supported Midge Ure, Idlewild’s Roddy Woomble and played the main stage at festivals such as Belladrum, Tartan Heart and Rockness.
James will spend the rest of 2015 performing live in and around Scotland before heading back to the studio in July to start work on a new album.
Winter is released 14th August 2015 via Tornface Music.
Reverieme’s EP ‘Or Else The Light’ out now!

Reverieme has released her captivating EP Or Else The Light via 9th Story Records. It's available to buy digitally on iTunes.
The video for EP track 'Plankton' premiered on Clash Magazine's website who described it as "A mixture of floral beauty and something rather disorienting..."
The track also premiered on Gigwise and you can stream and download it now via the ABoF SoundCloud page.
A combination of melancholic, hopeful, dark and insular sounds, there is a distinct edge to Reverieme’s songwriting. Steering away from a single grandiose theme, each track on the EP exists in its own separate world, with its own personal story - some are gloriously offbeat, whilst others, like the aforementioned ‘Plankton’, are haunting and heartbreaking. The meaning behind these songs is very much left up to the listener to decide. She has an undeniable folk influence, but peppered with a pop sensibility that makes her sound all the more universal.
Louise has been influenced by those who have walked before her, such as Jenny Lewis, Kimya Dawson, Amanda Palmer and Regina Spektor, but instead of treading the same path she has chosen to create her own, so others may one day follow. On stage, she may or may not be joined by other talented friends to help her elevate her music before it reaches the audience as the occasion demands.
Reverieme has already supported acclaimed acts such as Gotye, Emmy The Great and Newton Faulkner and performed at T in the Park and Wickerman festival, to name but a few. 2015 will see her return to Wickerman on July 25th, and she’ll also be performing various acoustic gigs in and around Scotland before heading to Sweden in late July/early August.
Or Else The Light is out now via 9th Story Records and available digitally on iTunes.
