You can also stream and download 'Lies' for free via the Totem Terrors SoundCloud page and watch the live video that accompanies it via the band's YouTube channel.
Narrowman, showcases the duo’s ability to write stripped back dance floor fillers, with agitprop lyrics and synthetic disco beats surrounded by the chaos of distortion, while the rest of the album could easily soundtrack a factory scene from Lang’s Metropolis, with its masterful use of drone and repetition to create a surreal industrial rock soundscape.
Hard Science was written, recorded and mixed by the duo themselves, and they have been known to fabricate their own pedals and instruments, very much staying true to the ideals of their post-punk influences. They’ve already picked up airplay from the likes of BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio, and with a Summer tour in the works and a limited edition 7” vinyl set for release in the autumn, Totem Terrors ability to shape noise into immediate nuggets of post-punk genius is sure to make an impact on 2015.
Narrowman is released 22nd June 2015. The single is taken from Totem Terrors second album Hard Science, released 29th June 2015 via Diet Pops.

Gene Serene releases free track ‘Hazza’!

Gene Serene has released 'Hazza', a free download track taken from her forthcoming album, The Polaris Experience, released 6th July 2015 via Duchess Box Records.
'Hazza' showcases Gene's experimental side, blending ethereal electronica with intense beats complemented by an understated vocal track that adds the finishing touch to this fascinating track. You can stream and download the song for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page.
You can also stream and download album track and single Singularity for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page and watch the cosmic video that accompanies the song via Gene Serene's YouTube channel.
Inspired by the Mars One project, where members of the public have been given the chance to sign up for a one way ticket to the red planet, The Polaris Experience tells the age old story of boy meets girl, of true connections and love as the technological singularity takes place and the world becomes increasingly toxic to mankind. As war ensues, the star crossed lovers are offered an escape route that will take them off the Earth. Placed in suspended animation and heading away from their celestial home, songs such as ‘Hold Me’ and ‘Upload’ explore the emotions and connections experienced in a technologically superior and interstellar future, existing outside of space and time.
A concept album in the classic sense of the word, Gene Serene enlisted the help of producer and sound engineer Bob Earland (Radiophonic Workshop, Clor) who co-wrote and co-produced the album, providing Gene with a sample library and the tools to create something brilliant. With a sound that owes as much to prog staples Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa and Cardiacs as it does stylistically to Goldfrapp and St Vincent, The Polaris Experience is a stellar addition to the oeuvre of intelligent, vocally driven electronica.
The album was written to be experienced in cinemas and theatres, as well as traditional venues and found spaces, so watch this space for a full list of UK tour dates.
The Polaris Experience is distributed via Duchess Box Records on 6th July 2015.
Watch Piney Gir’s latest video ‘Purple Heart’!

"A retro delight…" - The Guardian
"…open-hearted pop that has you clutching your knees with glee"
- Drowned In Sound
Piney Gir has released another captivating video, this time for album track ‘Purple Heart’. The song is taken from her sixth album mR hYDE’S wILD rIDE released 29th June 2015 via Damaged Goods.
The video premiered on Clash Magazine's website, who described it as "Simple, innocent yet striking." You can watch it now via Damaged Goods' YouTube channel.
You can also stream single Keep It Together via the ABoF SoundCloud page, and watch the video that premiered on Artrocker via YouTube.
Piney's previous video 'Gold Rules' premiered on Gigwise and is now available to watch on the Damaged Goods YouTube channel.
"The year I wrote the album mR. hYDE’S wILD rIDE I was having a really difficult year, with things around me spinning out of control, my work, my life, punctuated by death. It was a hard year," Piney explained to Amelia's Magazine. "I used 'Purple Heart' as a metaphor for what I was feeling, the swelling challenges of forging a path, the artists’ walk is a difficult one, a road less travelled, and it’s full of obstacles. I needed to make this song the way that I made it: with me playing guitar in the rough way that I play, singing and layering more and more voices almost random in the way that they join in, like ghosts of past, present and future."
Piney has pulled together a stellar band for her latest album, with members of Gaz Coombes and Emiliana Torrini's touring band jumping in on guitar, bass and drums alongside The Smith Brothers & regular collaborator Garo Nahoulakian taking a seat in the producer’s chair. Andy Ramsay of Stereolab makes an appearance on drums, and the bulk of the album was recorded in his South London studio. The rest was whipped-up in Piney’s little Hackney Studio, small and perfectly formed like a musical toy box, chock-full of space echo, marimba, omnichord and pocket piano, which combine to create a euphoric indie-starshine. Think Yoshimi-era Flaming Lips alongside sparkling tableaux of Mercury Rev., the tunefulness of Grandaddy and riff-led counter-melodies like Pixies.
You can catch Piney Gir live at the following dates as she embarks on a UK tour:
17th June - Green Door Store - Brighton
18th June - The Bassment - Chelmsford
19th June - 60 Million Postcards - Bournemouth
20th June - Four Bars - Cardiff
mR hYDE’S wILD rIDE is released 29th June 2015 via Damaged Goods.

"...considered, earnest, reflective folk... - Digital Spy
Sorren Maclean's debut album, Winter Stay Autumn, is out now via Middle Of Nowhere Recordings. It's available to buy digitally on iTunes.
'Rows & Rows of Boxes', one of the stand out tracks on the album, premiered on Folk Radio UK and you can stream it now via the ABoF SoundCloud page.
Sorren also released a cover of Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire's 'Tree Of Darkness' which you can stream and download for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page. You can also stream the title track from Sorren's previously released EP Way Back Home via the ABoF SoundCloud page and watch the video that premiered on Clash Magazine's website via YouTube.
The album began taking shape in 2012 when Sorren was commissioned by the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow to write and perform as one of their New Voices. Originally written for a 7 piece band and recorded shortly after being performed live and in full, there is a sense of weight and purpose to the album. Sorren’s delicate touch can be found in every facet of the arrangements, whether it’s the swelling strings of ‘Bootlace Chases’, the laid back meandering guitar of ‘Aeroplane Leaving’ or the barn-storming ballad, and title track, ‘Winter Stay Autumn’.
Sorren has performed on over 20 albums, including upcoming releases from Nashville singer Eliza Lynn, Rura's Steven Blake, Andrew Mitchell from The Hazey Janes and the legendary King Creosote. Winter Stay Autumn quickly follows recent EP release Way Back Home which picked up support from the likes of Clash Magazine, Folk Radio and BBC Radio Scotland. Having just finished touring with the aforementioned King Creosote, Sorren hit the road with Idlewild throughout the month of March, making 2015 another prolific year for the talented singer songwriter.
EP Way Back Home was released earlier this year, and his debut album Winter Stay Autumn is available to buy digitally on iTunes via Middle Of Nowhere Recordings.
