Kill The Waves have released their debut album, The One That Could Have Been via Bloc+Music. It's available to buy digitally via iTunes.

You can stream and download single and album track 'Better Days' for free via the band's SoundCloud page.

You can also watch the video that accompanies the single via the band's YouTube channel.

The One That Could Have Been defies convention as Kill The Waves pull on their vast array of inspirations to create a sound that straddles genres, with elements of ethereal electronica fused effortlessly with anthemic pop-rock, creating something truly extraordinary. The album has already received support from the likes of The Skinny, Podcart and BBC Introducing Scotland. There’s a depth to the band’s compositions rarely seen on a full length debut, boasting immaculately arranged strings, synths and guitars which are all held together neatly by Tim Kwant's impressive vocals as he jumps between octaves with ease. While there is no formal theme to the album, love, death and sacrifice are major inspirations behind their songwriting, as evidenced in tracks such as ‘Oak Tree’ and the techno-minimalist ‘Deadwave’. While it’s difficult to pigeonhole Kill The Waves as there are elements of lo-fi indie present throughout their work, the band’s ability to create complex, syncopated soundscapes that fill the room bear comparison to the likes of M83 and Four Tet.

Stream and download album track 'Vow' for free via the band's SoundCloud page and watch the video that accompanies it via The Skinny's YouTube channel.

Benjamin Yellowitz releases ‘Ash Wednesday’ video!

"There's a subtle funk to his gruff acoustic turns..."
- The Line Of Best Fit

For fans of: James Blake, John Frusciante, Justin Timberlake

Benjamin Yellowitz has released the dark and compellingly sinister video for his powerful single Ash Wednesday.

The video premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and you can watch it now via Benjamin Yellowitz's YouTube channel.

You can also stream and download the single for free via Benjamin Yellowitz's SoundCloud page.

Ash Wednesday is a dark and powerful showcase of Benjamin’s distinctive guitar technique and vocals, incorporating elements of industrial electronica and alternative rock, but with an uplifting edge that speaks to the soul. The single is a testament to Benjamin’s skill as a songwriter and producer, and is an exciting introduction to his debut EP, due for release this Spring.

Benjamin has spent time in a number of different bands, spanning genres as diverse as jazz, indie and metal - elements of which can still be heard in his music. He was briefly taught by soulful songstress Laura Mvula and at the age of 17 was performing as a professional musician, drumming for Tru-Thoughts singer Lizzy Parks. He’s also supported acts such as Bonobo and Norman Jay, and played live on BBC 6 Music for Craig Charles.

After a year touring as a solo singer/songwriter, Benjamin found like minded musicians Terry Downs (bass guitar), Josh Fowley (drums, samples & percussion) and Hilda Sibeck (backing vocals). With these three on board, Benjamin’s clever, modern and stripped back sound was finally complete.

With a European tour underway and the aforementioned EP in the pipeline, Benjamin Yellowitz’ dark and soulful sound is sure to make a big impression on 2015.

Ash Wednesday is out now via BYz Records.

Hello Future ‘Circular Motion’ EP out now!

For fans of: Biffy Clyro, Blink 182, Dinosaur Jr.

"...great hooks, killer harmonies and a spirited chorus…"
- Artrocker

Hello Future's debut EP, Circular Motion is out now via Hold The Line Records and available to buy digitally on iTunes. To celebrate the EP's release, Punktastic are streaming Circular Motion in full and you can also listen to it on the band's SoundCloud page.

You can watch the video for single and EP track Ideas via the band's YouTube channel.

You can also stream the single via the band's SoundCloud page.

Circular Motion is very much an amalgamation of a swathe of alternative underground rock bands such as The Appleseed Cast and Texas Is The Reason spliced with the noise-pop sensibilities of Dinosaur Jr and Sebadoh. As such, it’s apparent how much the band have grown in just six months. Opening track ‘On Judgement’ pulls on the Californian lo-fi, yet uplifting sound similar to the likes of Pavement, as memorable solo guitar pieces are flanked by strong harmonies and a rousing chorus. Third track ‘Drift’, which you can download for free from the band's SoundCloud page, kicks off with a guitar solo that conjures memories of Minus The Bear at their best as the pace quickens and then slows, illustrating the bands ability to vary their sound, before epically breaks down into a considered, high calibre rock number.

Since their formation last year Hello Future have picked up support from XFM Drivetime, who made their single ‘track of the week’, XFM X-Posure, Artrocker, Bring The Noise and a ‘new band’ feature in The Scottish Sun. They have also shared a stage with Dry The River, We Came From Wolves, Bear Arms, Tijuana Bibles, Vigo Thieves and will be playing King Tut's this evening with Hidden In Plain View.

Circular Motion is out now via Hold The Line Records and available to buy on iTunes.

Broken Boy release video for ‘Just To Leave You’!

"… three-piece indie outfit that's set to take the music world by storm." - Gigwise

For fans of: The Strokes, The Vaccines, White Lies, Franz Ferdinand

Broken Boy have released the video to their forthcoming single Just To Leave You, out 27th April 2015 via Canvas Records.

The video premiered on Gigwise and you can watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.

You can also stream the single via the ABoF SoundCloud page.

Blending the best elements of bands such as Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes, Broken Boy have produced a single that explodes into life before breaking down into a minimalist yet catchy verse showcasing Cam Black’s distinctive vocals and low rumbling bass, while brother Stewart Black provides a punchy attack on lead guitar.

You can also download and stream their previous single She Said for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page and watch the video that accompanies the track via Broken Boy's YouTube channel.

Broken Boy began in 2013 when brothers Stewart and Cam began to write together after flirting with several separate musical projects. Initially, the ambition was to expand their sound into an Arcade Fire style six piece band, but they decided their sound was more suited to a stripped back three-piece indie vibe, and in 2015 the brothers joined forces with drummer Fraser Laing who was the final piece of the jigsaw.

With the band fresh out the studio with Chem 19’s Paul Savage (Twilight Sad, Teenage Fanclub) and having recently played shows with Catfish and The Bottlemen and Circa Waves, 2015 looks set to be a breakthrough year for the talented trio.

Just To Leave You by Broken Boy is out on 27th April 2015 via Canvas Records.
