GANGS announce single ‘Dance With Your Own Bones’!

For fans of... Slaves, Royal Blood, Black Lips, The Amazing Snakeheads

“Raucous garage punk that stays just on the right side of unhinged…" - Clash

"Pounding, stomping, gritty rock 'n' roll..."- Tenement TV

"...raw energy with a driving beat and layered guitars..."- RMP Magazine

Following the success of previous single Thieves, rock and roll four-piece GANGS are now back with their pounding, riotous sound, as they get set to release a brand new track Dance With Your Own Bones out on December 9th via Smooth Action Records.

Having shown their ability to fuse together the racing energy of garage rock with hazy psychedelic vibes, GANGS have established themselves as an anthemic indie-rock band combined with a fresh, contemporary attitude. Dance With Your Own Bones races with a raw energy alongside gritty vocals and relentless riffs; thunderous beats propelling the track into a raging oblivion before it comes to a sudden, screeching halt, leaving you hungry for more of its intense, reverb-fuelled power.

The video for Dance With Your Own Bones premiered on RMP Magazine and is now available to watch on the GANGS YouTube channel.

The stream of the single premiered on Gigslutz and is available to stream via the GANGS Soundcloud page.

GANGS were born out of the dregs of the bottom of a double Jack and Coke in 2016 as the band came together in the shadowy underbelly of Glasgow during its cold winter months. Comprised of Steven Young (vocals, guitar), Alan Davidson (guitar), Marc MacCallum (bass, vocals) and Stephen Forbes (drums), the band came together through their mutual love of all things rock & roll and quickly made their mark with a sold out debut show announcing them as ones to watch. In the short time they have been together the band have gained support from the likes of Clash Magazine, Tenement TV, Visions Magazin, Little Indie Blogs and renowned Scottish radio DJ Jim Gellatly.

Now, with two fantastic singles under their belt, GANGS look set to spread their distinctive, raucous sounds out of Glasgow, throughout the rest of the UK and beyond.

Dance With Your Own Bones by GANGS is out on December 9th via Smooth Action Records.

Introducing… Mickey 9s

For fans of... Two Door Cinema Club, The Rapture, Primal Scream, Miami Horror

“...Mickey 9s know how to make you move."
- Gigslutz

Glaswegian four-piece Mickey 9’s are gearing up to bring their eccentric sound and visual style to a UK wide audience with the release of their latest single Superman, out on 2nd December 2016 via Good Guy Records.

Taking in elements of 90’s era acid house, german techno, funk, pop, new-wave and indie-pop, the band playfully experiment with both performance and sonic elements of the creative process, producing music that is as much Primal Scream as it is The Rapture. The video for Superman premiered on Gigslutz and is now avaiable to watch via the band's YouTube channel.

The audio premiered on Fame Magazine and can now be streamed on the Mickey 9s Soundcloud page.

It’s abundantly clear on Superman, as well as past releases Ammunition and Psycho Control, that Mickey 9’s are gleefully stretching the limit of what a modern pop band is expected to be. The opening notes to Superman are akin to Daft Punk channeling the 80’s funk-rock stylings of INXS’s Suicidal Blonde; St. Cool’s (vocals) incisive vocals cut through the funkadelic style guitar pieces, snapping synth-like drum beats and grooving bass lines. A refreshing take on modern dance music, Mickey 9’s have concocted a contemporary dance-funk sound in the realms of Chromeo and Dam-Funk, combined seamlessly with grittier electro-rock segments associated with acts such as Two Door Cinema Club.

Comprised of St. Cool, Ants (guitar), DaveOne Man Rave’ (bass) and Ross Ross Ross (drums), Mickey 9’s formed in 2007 and have gone onto be a leading member of the Scottish festival circuit making appearances at The Barrowlands as well as supporting prominent bands such as Sugarhill Gang. The release of Superman will be the first track taken from the bands album Galactic Radio which they aim to release in 2017.

Superman by Mickey 9’s is released on 2nd December 2016 via Good Guy Records.

The Van T’s single ‘Fun Garçon’ is out now!

“...music that deserves to be played at ear-threatening decibels to as many people as possible.” - Noisey

"...packed with attitude..." - Dork

“...sounding big, drenched in feedback...” - Huw Stephens BBC Introducing

For fans of: Sunflower Bean, Best Coast, Black Honey, Veruca Salt

Four-piece surf rock band The Van T’s have released their fabulous reverb-drenched single Fun Garçon, out now via Bloc+Music and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.

2016 has been a breakout year for the Glaswegians following the release of their EP A Coming of Age, which was acclaimed by influential members of the music press. The band secured premiere’s on Huw Stephens' BBC Radio Introducing show, Noisey, Consequence of Sound and Clash Magazine, as their name began to resonate throughout Europe to North America and beyond.

The Van T's have picked up exactly where they left off as they showcase their unlimited talents through the release of single Fun Garçon, which premiered exclusively on Dork. The track is now available to stream on The Van T's Soundcloud page.

Fun Garçon encapsulates all the great elements of a band who exude talent beyond their youthful demeanour; relentless guitar washes over the listener like a crashing wave, as the duel vocals of twin sisters Hannah (guitar, vocals) and Chloe Van Thompson (guitar, vocals) amplify the diner-like retro feel the song already has, fused together beautifully by the tight rhythm section headed up by Joanne Forbes (bass) and Shaun Hood (drums).

The release of Fun Garçon will complete what has been a wonderful year for the band. Having previously supported Honeyblood and Catholic Action in the last twelve months, they have since added stints with Yuck, Sunflower Bean and Rat Boy, who personally chose the band to play. The band followed these support slots by appearing at festivals such as T in The Park, headlining the BBC Introducing stage, Electric Fields, Wide Days and Stag and Dagger. They also picked up further press from the likes of The Scotsman, Beat Surrender, Backseat Mafia, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing Scotland, where they recently performed a superb live session, culminating in a nomination at this years Scottish Alternative Music Awards.

Introducing… The Imagineers!

For fans of... The Growlers, Ben Folds, Burt Bacharach, Ennio Morricone

"...fuses strident indie songwriting with ambitious, widescreen arrangements." - Clash

"...emphatic, inspired and distinctive." - Tenement TV

Eclectic Scottish five-piece The Imagineers make a welcome return with the announcement of their forthcoming album Utopian Dreams, due for release on 24th February 2017 via Hit The Light Records.

To celebrate the announcement the band have released the video for the title track, which premiered on Clash, and is now available to view via The Imagineers YouTube channel.

The audio for the single premiered on Tenement TV which is now available to stream on The Imagineers Soundcloud page.

The album is full of melodic twists and turns throughout; taking in elements of west coast surf, baroque pop, and singer songwriter, giving the album a film score feel. However, there is no denying a clear brill building pop inspiration and the band’s unique take on it, creating a sonic storyboard that could have starred the likes of Burt Bacharach and David Bowie, orchestrated by Ennio Morricone. The Imagineers have endeavoured to create an intriguing sound akin to The Growlers combined with a storytelling quality that would make Ben Folds proud. Lead singer Stevie Young’s (vocals, guitar) undeniable Scottish twang, as well as the band’s natural cinematic flare, mean that The Imagineers have created a sound uniquely their own.

After the original band members parted ways in 2013, Stevie travelled Europe with his guitar in tow, finding new inspiration by playing with various musicians around rural Spain, France and Italy. Eventually, Utopian Dreams was created and, with the help of producer Tommy Phillips (keys), the record began to take shape. With Scott Forsyth (drums, percussion, backing vocals), David Dunsmuir (bass) and Craig McGown (lead guitar, backing vocals) added to the ranks, The Imagineers were officially reborn.

The band appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in 2012, before receiving praise from an array of publications including The ScotsmanThe Skinny, The Daily Record and The Evening Times as well as performing live at festivals T in The Park and Wickerman.

Utopian Dreams by The Imagineers is out on 24th February 2017 via Hit The Light Records.
