Dave Rowntree (Blur) remixes The Cadbury Sisters’ single ‘Milk’

"…beautiful harmonies and gorgeous vocals."
- Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music

The Cadbury Sisters have announced their forthcoming single Milk, due for release 5th May via Fear Of Fiction. They've also revealed that former Blur drummer Dave Rowntree has remixed the track especially for the single's release. Dave's reasoning for chosing The Cadbury Sisters as his first ever remix work outside of Blur is the stuff that PR dreams are made of: 'with my name being Rowntree and theirs being Cadbury, I thought wouldn’t it be nice if we could merge the chocolate empires somehow?'.

Dave's 'Rowntree Cadbury Milk remix' received its UK debut on XFM, but you can listen to it now via The Cadbury Sisters' SoundCloud or via the embed below.

The video for 'Milk' was premiered exclusively on Gigwise, but you can watch it now on the trio's YouTube channel or via the embed below.

The Cadbury Sisters' great great grandfather was William Cadbury, the man behind the world famous chocolate company.  Jessica (vocals and percussion), Mary (vocals and electric guitar) and Lucy Cadbury (vocals and acoustic guitar) are his direct descendants and yes, they are all sisters.  Their goal is simple; to take the spirit of traditional English Folk music, infuse its DNA with contemporary influences such as Fleet Foxes, Daughter and First Aid Kit before disseminating it into the world.  If Cecil Sharp House were run by Saga Noren this is how its corridors would sound.

The Cadbury Sisters live in a half forgotten dream, inhabiting places we remember, yet sometimes feel uneasy about returning to.  Their music is a meld of harmony, discord and mindfulness, their songs the sonic equivalent of watching Swallows And Amazons or The Railway Children inter-spliced with The Wicker Man or Lord Of The Flies.

The Cadbury Sisters release their debut EP Close via Fear Of Fiction on 16th June 2014, and they've already picked up support from the likes of Q Magazine and NME. The EP will be receiving a dual launch at The Islington, London June 11th and The Louisiana, Bristol 12th June. They’ve also confirmed festival appearances at The Bristol Folk Festival, 2000 Trees Festival and The Alternative Escape in May and have picked up radio play from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens,
BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, and XFM’s John Kennedy.
