Introducing… Megan Henwood!

For fans of... Lucy Rose, Laura Marling, Daughter, Elliott Smith

“…bravely down-to-earth and her songs impressively eclectic.”
- The Guardian

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Megan Henwood returns with another majestic alt-folk single, Seventh, out now via Dharma Records. It is available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes now.

The single is also available to stream on Megan's Soundcloud page now.

The single is taken from Henwood’s forthcoming album, River, which depicts her lifelong relationship with the rivers and seas that flow into her creativity. Its alt-folk essence is illuminated with shades of sophisticated jazz and low-key electronica, on a record of dark hues and discreet optimism. Seventh soars into force with Megan’s immaculate finger picking skills, combined with her warm, smooth vocals sounding akin to the likes of Laura Marling or Lucy Rose. As the track seamlessly blends acoustic and electronic soundscapes throughout, Megan manages to to create something truly mesmerising and yet completely intimate.

In 2009, Megan won the BBC Young Folk Award, aged 20, alongside her brother Joe. Since then, she has gone on to become a formidable British talent. Megan has received praise in numerous well-regarded publications including The Guardian and Folk Radio as well as support from the likes of BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe, Simon Mayo, Terry Wogan and Janice Long to name but a few. Megan is also a regular on the UK live circuit, having played numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival and Secret Garden Party amongst others.
