"“...an outfit making considerable waves...”"
- Drowned in Sound

For fans of... Sonic Youth, Metz, Hookworms

One Unique Signal return with their second album Aether, out on 11th November 2013 via Genepool. The album is a hypnotic ten track journey that effortlessly travels between noise, prog, psychedelia and stoner rock.

You can download the free album track 'Lunar Attractions' now via Soundcloud.

The video for 'Lunar Attractions' is also available to watch now via the band's YouTube channel.

If you'd like to find out more, an EPK is also available via the band's YouTube channel featuring snippets from the album, the band chatting about the album writing process and more information on the tracks.

This second offering feels like the band’s most focussed to date. Although it is only their second full length, it is their eight release overall, making them clear contenders as one of the most hard working bands in the underground scene. ‘Luna Attractions’ packs a punch as the first track on the album, with hints of hectic Sonic Youth rock, crescendoing into glorious noise. This slides effortlessly into ‘A Beginning’ and that in turn takes a darker turn as you reach the middle of the album. ‘Amplitude’ feels like Metz, slowed down, given The Cure treatment and a Slint-esque post-rock edge. It’s quite a mix and a testament to the band’s varied influences. Aether was mastered by Sonic Boom who’s worked for MGMT as well as mastering records for Wooden Shjips and Red Krayola.

Although the band have remained an underground staple since 2002, their music has not gone unnoticed amongst the music press with Drowned in Sound hailing them as one of the capital’s best alternative bands and plays on XFM, BBC 6Music (Introducing) and Resonance FM.

Live, the band have supported Girls Against Boys, Spectrum (ex Spacemen 3), Trumans Water and Part Chimp plus many more. Members of One Unique Signal have also played in bands with Damo Suzuki (Can) and Eat Lights Become Lights alongside their well documented and ongoing association with shoegaze legends The Telescopes.

Aether is the sound of a band able to transcend their scene and wield a sound that effortlessly blends the best of their influences old and new.

The album will be available via Genepool on 11th November 2013.
