Mt. Doubt announce new EP ‘Moon Landings’!

For fans of... The National, The Twilight Sad, The Birthday Suit, Franz Ferdinand

- The Skinny

"...mixes stark, jangling guitars with

confessional lyricism..."
- Team Rock

"...distinctive vocals and accomplished songwriting..."
- The Scotsman

Following the critical acclaim of their previous EP, The Loneliness Of The TV Watchers, Edinburgh's Mt. Doubt now prepare to release their new EP, Moon Landings, on 3rd November 2017 via Scottish Fiction Records.

To celebrate the announcement, the video for single Mouthwash premiered on The Skinny and you can also watch it via the band's YouTube channel.

The single is also available to stream on Scottish Fiction's Soundcloud page now.

The EP flows effortlessly, combining uptempo indie rock melodies with synth-infused beats and dark undertones throughout. Tracks such as ‘Conduits’ and ‘Teeming’ ooze Leo Bargery’s signature melancholic lyricism and distinctively deep baritone, while ‘A Shy Distance’ and ‘Moon Landings’ use scattered electronics to create something truly atmospheric. Lead single Mouthwash is undeniably catchy from the offset, sounding akin to the likes of Franz Ferdinand’s infectious indie pop roots.

Talking about the EP, Bargery explains “it all really benefits from the input of Ryan Firth who has recently become more involved in the whole recording process with Mt. Doubt. His keys really elevate a lot of the material as do the lovely vocals of Annie Booth, which are a bit more of a focal point here than they have been in the past!”

Starting out as Bargery’s solo project, Mt. Doubt has since expanded into a collective of five musicians, each bringing something unique to the table. Since the release of their critically acclaimed albums In Awe Of Nothing and My Past Is A Quiet Beast, and most recently The Loneliness Of The TV Watchers, Mt. Doubt have received praise from the likes of The Scotsman, The National and Team Rock, as well as BBC 6Music and BBC Radio Scotland to name but a few. They are also no strangers to the Scottish live circuit, having performed at T In the Park, Brew At The Bog and supported We Were Promised Jetpacks, Admiral Fallow and White Lies amongst others.

Catch Mt. Doubt live at the following dates:

29th October - The Blue Man, Brighton
11th November - Songs from Northern Britain, Stockton-on-Tee
12th November Surf Café, Tyneside
18th November - SEALL, Isle Of Skye
