New Tango in the Attic Album Coming Soon!

“Scotland’s answer to Vampire Weekend, without the smugness that the New Yorkers seem to have acquired of late…” – No. 35 in Artrocker’s Top 100 Records of the Year (2009)
Scottish five-piece, Tango in the Attic, have been causing mini waves of joy. The boys’ live shows have gained them quite a stellar reputation in recent times. Summer 2009 saw the lads play to a crammed tent full of bouncing festival goers at T In The Park and they’ll be back again for this year’s TITP stint.
In a short space of time, Tango have established themselves as one of the freshest, most exciting bands in Scotland, especially with their most recent release, single Seven Second Stare. The band managed to beat the likes of bands such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, claiming a solid no. 35 spot in Artrocker.com’s Records of the Year for 2009.
“…slightly angular, almost chatty indie which rolls along on cutely raw basslines before exploding into an amiable chorus...” – Seven Second Stare single review, Drowned in Sound
Their influences are plucked from the best pop, avant-garde and east coast garage music from the last forty-years. The boys cite Paul Simon as one of their song-writing heroes along with avant-indie pioneers The Velvet Underground. Their debut album Bank Place Locomotive Society conveys the band’s sense of tongue-in-cheek fun and melodic sensibilities, which make the perfect soundtrack to the summer.
