"…a vibrant composition that brings

the old spirit alive...”

- Tenement TV

"... a compelling pro-indie anthem..."
- The List

Having already received critical acclaim as part of Edinburgh-based dream pop band Collar Up, musician Stephen McLaren has now released his new solo album We Used To Go Raving, out now via Errant Media. Is it available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes now.

To celebrate the album release, McLaren has shared a brand new video to accompany his single I Sing To You. You can watch the video via his YouTube channel now. The single originally premiered on The Skinny and is available to stream on Stephen McLaren's Soundcloud page now.

Previously released debut single No More (Say Yes) premiered on The List and is available to watch via Stephen's YouTube channel.

Aiming to evoke feelings of nostalgia, loss and longing, We Used To Go Raving was created as a musical commentary on the post-millennium human condition. With subject matter ranging from the personal to political, the distant past to the harsh reality of the present, the album is an inspired and thought-provoking collection of electro-rock tracks. From the anthemic piano melodies and New Order-esque twinkling grandeur of title track ‘We Used To Go Raving’, to the glitchy beats and soaring cinematic power of ‘Patience’ and the shimmering emotion-strewn hooks of ‘I Sing To You’, each song whirrs with a nostalgic grace, harking back to the ‘80s new wave generation.

With his solo work already having caught the attention of The Skinny, Tenement TV, The List and Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly, Stephen McLaren now hopes to capture listeners’ attention with the dark, dreamy power of We Used To Go Raving.

We Used To Go Raving is out now via Errant Media. Is it available to stream on Spotify and buy on iTunes now.
