Exploding onto the scene in 2009, this five-piece band from Glenrothes have steadily cemented their reputation as one of Scotland's most captivating live and recorded acts, with a fun tropical sound fused with melodic guitars and vocals.
The ethereal tour de force of title track, Sketch by Quentin Blake, is dripping with African guitar, and the band's love affair with reverb is alive and well in the song's production.
The single's b-side, "King's Arms", sees the lads turn their back on the usual punchy, two-minute pop nugget template, with a six and a half minute minimalist descent into discord and distortion that put them on par with international contemporaries such as Of Montreal or The Walkmen. The contrast between these two songs further proves that Tango in the Attic are more than capable of creating something truly diverse and eclectic.
