Tetish release video for single ‘Luck’!

For fans of... The Cardigans, Lucius, Rilo Kiley, Bat For Lashes

"Immediately beguiling ..." - Clash

Tel-Aviv based indie-electro band Tetish have announced their new single Luck, due for release on 22nd July via Solarie Records.

The track is taken from the forthcoming debut self-titled album, which is out on 28th July 2016, and showcases the band's high octane indie sound as snapping drum beats are flanked by the wonderfully delivered vocals of Etan Solomon, rasping guitar and crisp electronic elements. The video for the single premiered on Clash Magazine's website who described the band's sound as "...material recalling the artful impact of Bat For Lashes, or The Cardigans...". The video for Luck is now available to watch on the Tetish YouTube channel.

You can also stream Luck from the Tetish Soundcloud page.

The release of Luck follows quickly on from their previous single Shipwreck, which premiered on GigSlutz and is now available to stream via the band's Soundcloud page.

The band is the brainchild of Etan Soloman and Itai Shitrit who have been active members of the local Tel-Aviv indie music scene for a number years now. Both have released material while working on different projects, but it wasn’t until after the long-time friends started to play around with a few ideas towards the end of 2014 that they discovered they were able to take each other’s music to the next level. This is highlighted perfectly on the album track 'Glow', a free download track the band released in May to celebrate the announcement of the forthcoming album release.

18 months on and the pair have achieved a dynamic sound perfectly encapsulated on their debut album, with a medley of influences from pop and rock all the way through to classical and middle eastern music, giving Tetish a deep, rich, complex and ultimately unique sound. Openers Luck and the aforementioned 'Glow' draw comparison with classic artists such as Laura Mvula as well as contemporary musicians like Jessie Ware, whereas Shipwreck explores the band’s pop/rock leanings and is a nod to influences ranging from The Cardigans to Bat For Lashes. Salomon explains “the album is about the longing for self-fulfilment, about the struggle between reality and our hopes, dreams and ideals, in life, in art and in relationships.”

Both Salomon (vocals/keyboards) and Shitrit (keyboards/vocals) are classically trained musicians which becomes apparent on the record as they showcase their skills through the quality of their musicianship and arrangements. Their sound is further enhanced by Nir Shlomo (guitars/vocals), Noam Shacham (bass/vocals) and Daniel Azta (drums/vocals) who joined from Shitrit’s previous band Kalbey Ruach and are noted for their session work with bands such as Eatlitz, Brain Candies and Lola Marsh respectively.

Tetish are intensely determined to expose the world to their sound as they attempt to reach and relate to as many people as they possibly can. It’s been a great start for the band as their demos were picked up by some of the biggest local radio stations as well as being picked up for CMW in Toronto, CMJ in New York as well as gaining support from the likes of Clash, The Vinyl District, The Revue and Little Indie Blogs.
Tetish will be playing a number of shows in the UK including this summer’s WOMAD Festival. You can catch the band in the following towns and cities throughout July and August.
