Tetish release video for single ‘Luck’!

For fans of... The Cardigans, Lucius, Rilo Kiley, Bat For Lashes

"Immediately beguiling ..." - Clash

Tel-Aviv based indie-electro band Tetish have announced their new single Luck, due for release on 22nd July via Solarie Records.

The track is taken from the forthcoming debut self-titled album, which is out on 28th July 2016, and showcases the band's high octane indie sound as snapping drum beats are flanked by the wonderfully delivered vocals of Etan Solomon, rasping guitar and crisp electronic elements. The video for the single premiered on Clash Magazine's website who described the band's sound as "...material recalling the artful impact of Bat For Lashes, or The Cardigans...". The video for Luck is now available to watch on the Tetish YouTube channel.

You can also stream Luck from the Tetish Soundcloud page.

The release of Luck follows quickly on from their previous single Shipwreck, which premiered on GigSlutz and is now available to stream via the band's Soundcloud page.

The band is the brainchild of Etan Soloman and Itai Shitrit who have been active members of the local Tel-Aviv indie music scene for a number years now. Both have released material while working on different projects, but it wasn’t until after the long-time friends started to play around with a few ideas towards the end of 2014 that they discovered they were able to take each other’s music to the next level. This is highlighted perfectly on the album track 'Glow', a free download track the band released in May to celebrate the announcement of the forthcoming album release.

18 months on and the pair have achieved a dynamic sound perfectly encapsulated on their debut album, with a medley of influences from pop and rock all the way through to classical and middle eastern music, giving Tetish a deep, rich, complex and ultimately unique sound. Openers Luck and the aforementioned 'Glow' draw comparison with classic artists such as Laura Mvula as well as contemporary musicians like Jessie Ware, whereas Shipwreck explores the band’s pop/rock leanings and is a nod to influences ranging from The Cardigans to Bat For Lashes. Salomon explains “the album is about the longing for self-fulfilment, about the struggle between reality and our hopes, dreams and ideals, in life, in art and in relationships.”

Both Salomon (vocals/keyboards) and Shitrit (keyboards/vocals) are classically trained musicians which becomes apparent on the record as they showcase their skills through the quality of their musicianship and arrangements. Their sound is further enhanced by Nir Shlomo (guitars/vocals), Noam Shacham (bass/vocals) and Daniel Azta (drums/vocals) who joined from Shitrit’s previous band Kalbey Ruach and are noted for their session work with bands such as Eatlitz, Brain Candies and Lola Marsh respectively.

Tetish are intensely determined to expose the world to their sound as they attempt to reach and relate to as many people as they possibly can. It’s been a great start for the band as their demos were picked up by some of the biggest local radio stations as well as being picked up for CMW in Toronto, CMJ in New York as well as gaining support from the likes of Clash, The Vinyl District, The Revue and Little Indie Blogs.
Tetish will be playing a number of shows in the UK including this summer’s WOMAD Festival. You can catch the band in the following towns and cities throughout July and August.

27th July - Sticky Mike's - Brighton

30th July - WOMAD Festival UK - Charlton Park

1st August - Fallow Cafe - Manchester

2nd August - AlleyCat - London

3rd August - The Dublin Castle - London

Luck by Tetish is out on 22nd July 2016 and is taken from the self-titled debut album released via Solarie Records on 28th July 2016.

Introducing… Tanners Pool!

For fans of... Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction, Frank Zappa, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Tanners Pool are ready to broaden the horizons of alternative rock with the release of their debut EP Out of Line, due for release on 22nd July 2016 via Alt/Logic and is available to pre-order via the band's website.

In addition to the EP announcement, Tanners Pool are giving away free track Plastic Wings, which is available to download via the band's Soundcloud page.

In keeping with the EP’s title, the record explores themes of going against the grain rather than following the mainstream trends we are force-fed and ultimately drawn to in life, instead promoting idea of individuality and following ones own path. Opening track Bad Advice kicks off with Jess Ashdale’s thrashing distorted guitar, which mirrors contemporary acts such as the Arctic Monkeys’ punchy, electrifying sound. While on I’m Long Gone the band click into a funk rock groove akin to the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, as Jess steals the show with an expertly delivered wah-wah pedal affected guitar solo. The band reverts back to their rock ’n’ roll roots in Nothing and Nobody and Plastic Wings; both tracks filled with fuzzy guitar riffs and pounding drums throughout. Each track on Out of Line offers something different as you work through the EP, as Tanners Pool impressively traverse the line between indie rock, funk and classic rock sounds of days gone by.

Tanners Pool formed in Oxford in late 2015 after joint songwriting duo Matt Ashdale (vocals, guitar) and Jess (lead guitar, backing vocals) had been playing and writing together for a number of years. Having begun practising with Seth Roberts (bass) for a few months, they enrolled old school friend Shoji Maeno (drums) who was keen to get involved after seeing the band perform their debut show. The rest, as they say, is history. Now with a debut EP on the horizon, a music video in the works and live dates to follow, Tanners Pool are excited to take the next steps on their journey as a band together.

Catch the quartet live at their Official EP Launch on 22nd July 2016 at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford with tickets available via We Got Tickets.

Out of Line by Tanners Pool is out on 22nd July 2016 via Alt/Logic and is available to pre-order via the band's website.

If you'd like more information on Tanners Pool or our PR services, please email info@abadgeoffriendship.com.

Yvonne McDonnell shares free track ‘Endless Soul’!

For fans of... Laura Marling, First Aid Kit, Kate Rusby, Lisa Hannigan

"...a powerful mix which draws the listener in."
- For Folk's Sake

"...a newcomer to contemporary folk music but whom we feel will be making her mark..." - Folk Radio

Newcomer Yvonne McDonnell is quickly making a name for herself as she joins the burgeoning list of incredibly talented female singer songwriters making waves in the music industry today. Following the success of her recent EP Not Her Own, Yvonne is re-releasing her debut EP Endless Soul, which is out now via Reality Is Over and available to buy on Bandcamp.

In addition to the re-release, Yvonne is giving away single Endless Soul, which is now available to download via Yvonne's Soundcloud page.

The video for Endless Soul is now available to watch via Yvonne's YouTube channel.

The entire EP has one core narrative; each song exploring the various sets of emotions associated with being hurt by someone with deep set insecurities and how we learn to understand and accept others point of view. Opening track I Didn’t Know begins with the initial empathy of what the perpetrator is going through, with Yvonne’s striking vocals taking centre stage, exquisitely supported by her talented backing band. Title track, the aforementioned Endless Soul, tackles themes of anger as the emotion kicks in with a sense of melancholy, while still harbouring a glisten of hope - a feeling that resonates throughout the track. As the EP continues the listener is taken on a journey, with each song skilfully written and performed with the same story-telling charm that has worked so well for to the likes of Laura Marling, Lisa Hannigan and Kate Rusby. McDonnell’s hypnotic vocal remains the focal point throughout the EP, with her unique vibrato swelling effortlessly.

Originally from East London, Yvonne started performing acoustically in 2012 at university in Portsmouth. Yvonne has already received praise from the likes of Folk Radio, For Folk’s Sake, Gigslutz and Pure M Magazine amongst others. She has also performed live sessions for Sofar Sounds in London and Cambridge. Yvonne is ready to take another step up the folk ladder as she introduces the listener to a fresh, darker exploration of British modern folk.

The re-release of Yvonne McDonnell’s EP Endless Soul is out now via Reality Is Over and available to buy on Bandcamp.

GANGS release video for single ‘Thieves’!

"...a relentless battering-ram of a tune..."- Clash

"Pounding, stomping, gritty rock 'n' roll..."- Tenement TV

For fans of... Slaves, Royal Blood, The Stooges, The Amazing Snakeheads

Rock & roll four-piece, GANGS have introduced themselves to the music world with the announcement of their official single Thieves, due for release on 22nd July 2016 via Smooth Action Records.

On Thieves, the band exhibit all their best qualities as grimy caustic vocals prowl your ear drums, allied to relentless, raw guitar pieces and a rhythm section that propels GANGS, kicking and screaming, for two and half exhilarating minutes, before settling on a booming outro; a crescendo of distortion and affected vocals screaming “…take a look around thieves are coming TONIGHT!”. The video for Thieves premiered on Clash and is now available to watch on the band's YouTube channel.

The stream of Thieves was unveiled exclusively on Tenement TV with the site exclaiming that "the scope of GANGS really does seem limitless". Stream Thieves now from the GANGS Soundcloud page.

Born out of the dregs at the bottom of a double Jack and Coke, the band have had a sharp rise to prominence in their hometown having come together in the shadowy underbelly of Glasgow during its cold winter months.

Combining elements of American garage rock and psychedelic rock made famous by the likes of The Stooges, with the modern punk rock swagger of bands like Slaves and Royal Blood, GANGS have very much laid down their marker as a booming, anthemic rock band with plenty of attitude to burn.

GANGS were formed in 2016 when Steven Young (vocals, guitar), Stevie McLaren (guitar), Marc MacCallum (bass, vocals) and Stephen Forbes (drums) came together through their mutual love of all things rock & roll. Refreshingly, the band are forthright in their belief that they are content writing songs they believe in, rather than being populist, maintaining that they want to run their own race, all the while creating music they enjoy making. If Thieves is anything to go by, GANGS are certainly enjoying the music they make.

Thieves by GANGS is out 22nd July 2016 via Smooth Action Records.
