We’re No Heroes release hilarious new video for ‘Stay Weird’!

For fans of: Circa Waves, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Swim Deep

"Shifty disco beats, syncopated guitars and flawless vocalpassing."
- The 405

We’re No Heroes have released a hilarious new video for their latest indie funk infused single Stay Weird, released digitally on 13th November 2015 via Spiral Icon. The single will also be available as a double a-side single on vinyl along with indie punk belter Voodoo, on 27th November 2015.

The video follows the Annie Lebowitz of food photography and the fame, the money and the ego that go with success in this high pressure world. Croissants, Pineapples and Strawberries are shot to perfection but a change of subject nearly derails everything…

The video premiered on A Music Blog, Yeah? and you can also watch it now now via the band's YouTube page.

The band combine raw, punk and indie energy, fusing this sound with grooves and melodies akin to soul act Jungle, creating their own unique and exciting sound. Stay Weird kicks off with a sharp guitar hook before developing into their groove-laden indie disco style. The song is an ode to feeling proud of being different and letting what’s unique abut yourself grow instead of holding it back.

Originally formed in a downtown studio space in Chicago, the band are Tom Collins (vocals and guitar), Luke Llewellyn (drums and vocals) and Michael Owen (bass and vocals). Having known each other since childhood, their close connection shows in everything they do from their performances to their hands on approach to loyal fans, aka WNH The Wolfpack. We’re No Heroes have played alongside the likes of Public Service Broadcast, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Future Of The Left and have been busy playing a host of UK festivals over the summer.

Stay Weird is released digitally on 13th November 2015 via Spiral Icon. Double a-side single Stay Weird / Voodoo is released 27th November 2015 on vinyl.

The Frisbys release new video for ‘Give in to the Dark’!

For Fans of... First Aid Kit, The Staves, Lily and Madeleine

"...glorious harmonies and sweet, emotive sound..." - For Folk's Sake

The Frisbys are set to release their charming new video for upcoming new single Give in to the Dark which is set to be released as half of the double A-side single Born and Raised/Give in to the Dark, on November 27th 2015 via Dantobaccus Records.

Filmed predominantly on an idyllic beach and intercut with home video’s from the twins past, we see Helen and Nicola Frisby singing, one in the dark, one in the light, to reflect the message behind the song which tells the tale of loving somebody suffering with Seasonal Adjustment Disorder (SAD). It lets that person know that they are there for them and waiting for them until the time is right for them to come back and out of their ‘darkness’.

The video premiered on For Folk’s Sake and you can also watch to it on the band’s YouTube page or by clicking on the embed below.

Helen and Nicola have been singing and playing music together since they were old enough to speak. Having performed as a duo for many years honing their incredible vocal harmonies, it took a boredom call from a broken-legged Marc Robinson (piano, guitar) to convince them to start a full band. The three were joined by Sam Keer (acoustic/electric/slide guitar), and later, Will Cattermole (bass) and Tom Finigan (drums). They have been producing haunting and emotive music ever since.

Having received past support from Ruth Barnes, Gary Crowley and Kathryn Tickell on Amazing Radio, Mark Forrest on BBC Radio, Team Rock Radio, Folk Radio and For Folk’s Sake, the band already boast an impressive collection of fans. This is already being built upon, with Born and Raised having recently been featured as Track of The Day on Sarah Gorrell’s Drive Time Show on BBC Sussex.

Born and Raised/Give in to the Dark is out on November 27th 2015 via Dantobaccus Records.

We Are The City unveil new single Kiss Me, Honey!

For fans of: Grizzly Bear, The Flaming Lips, Mew

"...a band for the long haul." - Drowned in Sound

"...billowing, headily inventive music…" - Clash

"...swirling psych, pristine chart-worthy hooks and dreamy atmospherics..." - The Line of Best Fit

We Are The City have unveiled their latest single Kiss Me, Honey, which is taken from their album Above Club. The album is due for release on November 13th via Sinnbus.

The track is the second to be aired from their upcoming album, but the first to be released from the mammoth recording session that saw the band literally lock themselves in the studio to eat, sleep and write their new material under the watchful gaze of a 24hr livefeed streamed directly from their website.

You can stream Kiss Me, Honey now from the band's Soundcloud page or by clicking below.

The track captures the impulsive and experimental approach the band took to recording the new album, combining Cayne McKenzie's floating falsetto vocals with Andrew Huculiak's relentless drums which perform fill after fill never seeming to settle, the entire three minutes of the track rattle past with an overarching sense of urgency.

The forthcoming album follows hot on the heels of the international release of their acclaimed sophomore LP, Violent, and its corresponding feature full-length film, which was written by the band, and filmed in Norway by Amazing Factory Productions. The film has garnered critical acclaim during its appearances on the film festival circuit over the past year, receiving a Perspective Canada Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, screenings at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (world premiere), San Sebastían International Film Festival, Los Cabos Film Festival, as well as winning Best Canadian Film and Best BC Film at Vancouver International Film Festival.

The single Kiss Me, Honey is out November 6th, their album Above Club is out November 13th via Sinnbus.

Asbjørn releases retro tongue-in-cheek video for Scandinavian Love

For fans of: The Irrepressibles, Lulu Rouge, iamamiwhoami, Kate Boy

"...where Nordic sensitivity and pop vibes fuse.” - IDOL Magazine

Danish pop kid Asbjørn's latest video for Scandinavian Love is a colourful, retro ode to ‘70s game shows. The track appears on his new album Pseudo Visions, which is out on November 6th via Sinnbus.

Asbjørn plays a merciless heartbreaker who seeks help to feel compassion for his past lovers in order to become a better boyfriend. It’s a fun tongue-in-cheek take on the era with Asbjørn commenting: "We wanted to capture this over-the-top irony of TV game shows from that era. The song is quite shameless lyrically, and this video allowed us to get the message across in a fun and unpretentious way – it most definitely steps out of the melancholy of the past pseudo visions.”

The video premiered on i-D but is available to watch now via Asbjørn's YouTube page.

Pseudo Visions displays a more nuanced form of pop music, a type of that allows Asbjørn to express himself fully, on his own terms with intricate backing tracks performed and produced by the multi-instrumentalist himself. The songwriting process also involved audiences across Europe, helping to highlight and develop the tunes as they took shape based on the crowd’s reaction. His sound follows in the footsteps of Scandinavian artists such as Lulu Rouge, Kate Boy and iamamiwhoami, but with his own twist that will appeal to the indie-disco crowds of the UK.

Pseudo Visions is released via Sinnbus on 6th November 2015.

ESTRONS release awesome video for Make a Man!

For fans of: Sleater Kinney, Tacocat, Bikini Kill

"...'Make a Man' is a fierce declaration of the band's dynamic sound." - Noisey

“...a rollicking slice of punk…” - Gigwise

ESTRONS have released the fantastic new video to their forthcoming debut single Make A Man, released 4th December via Gofod Records.

The video premiered on Noisey yesterday and you can watch it now via the band's YouTube page or by clicking on the embed below.

The name ESTRONS means ‘aliens’ or ‘strangers’ in Welsh and this band of misfits may at times seem very far removed from any particular scene because they make music their own way, when they like, how they like.

Make A Man not only presents the band’s dynamic indie sound, the sentiment behind the song is just as strong and meaningful with the idea of female objectification turned on its head. “It’s the story of a heterosexual female’s battle between desiring a man, whilst simultaneously finding herself having little respect for his self-important ego and misogynistic attitude towards women. She retaliates by objectifying him herself” explains singer Taliesyn Källström.

Core members Källström (vocals) and Rhodri Daniel (guitar) met after a chance encounter in 2012 on a beach in Aberystwyth , however the band are actually a collection of people that come and go, all strangers who have one sole purpose and common denominator - to make great music that says something.

Last year singer Taliesyn gave birth to her son Björn and toured Wales within a month of his birth. The band’s video for ‘Aliens’ features Taliesyn breast feeding. A subject that has received much attention over the last year yet ESTRONS approach all subject matter with ease and a good sense of humour.

The band have already played the length and breadth of their home country and festivals such as Swn Festival and Festival no. 6. BBC Radio WalesAdam Walton and Bethan Elfyn and BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens are also huge supporters but the band are ready to take their sound and present it to the world, flying the flag for Wales, the UK and for anyone who loves music with balls.

Make A Man is released via Gofod Records Ltd on 4th December 2015
