Introducing… The Capture Effect!

The Capture Effect are pleased to announce the release of their debut EP, Frequencies, due for release on 23rd March 2015 via Free Radio.
To celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP, The Capture Effect are giving away EP track 'London's Burning' for free from the ABoF SoundCloud page.
On Frequencies the London based five-piece have created intense rock music, spliced with electro-synth sound waves, bridged neatly by a compelling narrative told through provocative lyrical content. Each track tells an individual story as the band touch on myriad of topical subjects, both unique to the individual and to society as a whole.
First track ‘SKYwave’ charts the phone hacking scandal of 2011 with sampled news reports combined with up tempo fuzzy synth to transcend breakneck drumbeats and affected vocals. ‘Lies and False Signals’ sees the band focus on more personal subject matter as the track follows the end of a broken relationship. Guitars screech and samples soar as the vocals take centre stage here, emotive and passionate, as the band come together as one to produce an impressively big sound.
Featuring Iain Littlemore (guitar, vocals), Adam Parr (guitar, keyboard, backing vocals), Andy Malliff (bass, samples, backing vocals) and Stuart Roberts (drums), the band formed in summer 2014 after an extensive writing period together. Inspired by a shared love of Nirvana, Bloc Party, Biffy Clyro, The Clash and all things David Fincher, The Capture Effect set about writing music that built upon these influences while maintaining a sound very much their own. Indeed their name and the idea of incorporating news reports and samples in their songs came about after an amp picked up a live radio broadcast during rehearsal. The phenomenon is known as ‘The Capture Effect’ and the rest, as they say, is history.
Frequencies is released on 23rd March 2015 via Free Radio.
Springh single ‘Silhouette’ out now!

Springh have released their debut single Silhouette via Springh Song.
Watch the deliciously surreal video that accompanies the single via the band's YouTube channel.
You can also stream the full version of the single via Springh's SoundCloud page.
Springh are also giving away the b-side track ‘My Head In Clouds’ via SoundCloud to support the release of the single.
Having met in London, core members Sam Swift-Glasman (guitar/vocals) and Lisa Sara Jenkin (violin/vocals) began writing material together whilst travelling in South and Central America, playing impromptu gigs in traveller bars and hostels. Back in London the pair spent the following few years playing in a folk collective before moving towards a more progressive, grungier sound and Springh was born.
These influences are evident on Silhouette, where the duo let loose with a driven, surf rock style track. Raucous, effects driven guitar are ably complimented by effected violin tones, a spirited and tenacious drum beat all brought neatly together by expressive harmonised vocals - adding a bucketful of character to an already relentless tune.
The single was officially launched at The Finsbury on 21st November, and the band have big plans for 2015 with a second single and EP already in the pipeline for early next Spring.
Silhouette is released via Springh Song and available to buy digitally on Amazon.
Hundreds release ‘Ten Headed Beast’ video!

"...an album that so deftly marries the traditional and progressive, the personal and accessible."
- 8/10, The Line of Best Fit
Hundreds have released the video for their latest single, 'Ten Headed Beast', taken from their second studio album Aftermath.
The video premiered on The Line Of Best Fit and you can now watch it via the Sinnbus YouTube channel.
The video is surreal in the truest sense of the word. Vocalist Eva Milner provided some insight into the meaning behind the track, stating "it stands for all the conflicting perspectives and feelings in me. When you make an important decision, afterwards you try to find out if it's the right way... I tend to question my own decisions again and again. That's hard sometimes and to put the ten headed beast to silence isn't easy."
The entire album is available to stream, with a track by track breakdown, courtesy of Gold Flake Paint.
The video for the outstanding live performance of album track 'Beehive' premiered on Gigwise, and you can now watch it via the Sinnbus YouTube channel.
You can also listen to Circus, a single taken from the album, on the band's SoundCloud page and watch the video via the Sinnbus YouTube channel.
Aftermath is released via Sinnbus and is available to buy on iTunes, Amazon and can be streamed via Spotify.

Siv Jakobsen and Sofia announce January UK Tour!

Siv Jakobsen and Sofia are joining forces and heading over to the UK in January 2015 for a nationwide tour. The pair met in a lyric writing class whilst studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. They became fast friends.
Sofia's video for 'Friendly Little Ghost' premiered on The Huffington Post and you can now watch it on her YouTube channel.
Siv recently recorded a cover of Joni Mitchell's 'River'. You can watch the enchanting video of her performing the song while the night lights of Oslo shine behind her via her YouTube channel.
Siv Jakobsen has been performing in Europe and the US since 2011, creating emotive music that doesn’t shy away from melancholy or sadness. However, there is a distinct contrast between her music and stage persona, as Siv is a naturally chirpy person, which juxtaposes beautifully with her music, making it all the more effective in a live setting. She honed her talent living in 7 by 6 foot apartment whilst living in Brooklyn which she describes as “a door with a bed”, and has on occasion been mistaken for a High School student. She is 25.
Alongside the tour, Siv will be releasing single How We Used To Love on 12th January 2015. The song actually came to be when Siv, stuck in San Francisco traffic, drove into the car in front of her in an absent minded moment. This inspired the first couple of lines in the song and became a monologue she’d never dared say out loud. The track itself is dark and ethereal, with a string arrangement and vocal that is both cinematic and heartbreaking.
Sofia is half Venezuelan and half Lebanese, giving her a wealth of influences to draw from. Both countries are considered third world, dealing with issues of violence, political turmoil and corruption. As a result she feels a sense of duty and social responsibility and considers herself an advocate for social change and World peace. She grew up heavily inspired by her Father’s taste in music, drinking in Harry Belfonte, Eric Clapton and Elvis. The first CD she owned was Celine Dion, and she doesn’t care who knows it.
Her debut EP, Once Upon A Time, was released in March 2014, and was recorded after a long battle with Crohn's disease in her third year at college. She wanted the songs to represent her story, hence the EP’s title - after all, all songwriters are story tellers.
Press passes are available for Siv Jakobsen and Sofia’s UK shows for the following dates:

15th January - Big Comfy Bookshop - Coventry
