Miss Kenichi - aka Katrin Hahner - recently chatted to German TV channel DW about her chronic stage fright, her paintings, contribution to the recent soundtrack for German film 'Freier Fall' and Tindersticks drummer Earl Harvin's involvement with the album.
You can watch the full interview HERE.

You can also watch the video for album track and single Who Are You on the Sinnbus YouTube channel.

Dark like the woods, but with shafts of light piercing through the trees, The Trail is a record that initially seems full of shadows and gloom, but whose beauty lends it a vital optimism. Leaning lyrically upon the nature amid which she grew up, with frequent references to mountains, rivers, storms and skies scattered throughout, The Trail is full of songs that outgrow their origins, thriving and blossoming as they develop. With The Trail, Miss Kenichi has created an album that is boundlessly immersive, full of wisdom, grace and wonder.

The Trail was released via Sinnbus/Rough Trade and is available to buy digitally on iTunes and on vinyl and CD from BandCamp.

Springh unveil ‘Silhouette’ video!

For fans of: Swans, Savages, Hookworms

Springh are getting ready to release their debut single Silhouette, due out 8th December via Springh Song. In the meantime, they've released a deliciously surreal video to accompany the single. Watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.

You can also stream the full version of the single via Springh's SoundCloud page.

Springh are also giving away the b-side track ‘My Head In Clouds’ via SoundCloud to support the release of the single.

Having met in London, core members Sam Swift-Glasman (guitar/vocals) and Lisa Sara Jenkin (violin/vocals) began writing material together whilst travelling in South and Central America, playing impromptu gigs in traveller bars and hostels. Back in London the pair spent the following few years playing in a folk collective before moving towards a more progressive, grungier sound and Springh was born.

These influences are evident on forthcoming debut single Silhouette, where the duo let loose with a driven, surf rock style track. Raucous, effects driven guitar are ably complimented by effected violin tones, a spirited and tenacious drum beat all brought neatly together by expressive harmonised vocals - adding a bucketful of character to an already relentless tune.

The band recorded Silhouette at Toerag Studios with Liam Watson (White Stripes, The Wytches, Tame Impala). They tracked live to tape using analogue equipment that dates back in some cases to the 50’s. The studio is famed for its use of tannoy loudspeakers, vintage backline including Vox and Fender amplifiers as well as making use of echo chambers.

The single was officially launched at The Finsbury on 21st November, and the band have big plans for 2015 with a second single and EP already in the pipeline for early next Spring.

Silhouette is due for release on 8th December 2014 via Springh Song.

The Helmholtz Resonators single ‘Automaton’ out now!

For fans of: Stealing Sheep, The Beta Band, Super Furry Animals

"...an upbeat, electro soaked banger of a tune that gets under your skin and leaves you wishing there was a b-side."
- Artrocker

The Helmholtz Resonators have released their latest single, the quirky and synth soaked tale written about the newest addition to their lab, Automaton.

The video for the single premiered on The Vinyl District and you can now watch it via The Helmholtz Resonators' YouTube channel.

Did you ever buy a new gadget that was so nifty you wanted to make a song and dance about it? Well, The Helmholtz Resonators have done exactly that. Built from a Walkman, some "odds and sods" and more than a little ingenuity, the eccentric musician/scientists have procured a robot to help with their chores and provide entertainment during the long winter evenings. This charming droid has had such an impact on their lives that it has inspired their best work to date, their latest single. Sounding like a cross between Tom Tom Club, Metronomy and the Human League, the mechanical marvel has been entertaining everybody it meets.

The single has already picked up support from the likes of Artrocker Magazine, BBC Radio’s Steve Lamacq and Gary Crowley, and with an album set for launch in the new year (and nothing but time on their hands given their new robotic housekeeper) we’re sure to be hearing a lot more from these eccentric musical scientists.

Automaton is released via Genepool Records and is available to buy digitally on iTunes.

Jan Roth announces Live EP!

For fans of... Atoms For Peace, Hauschka, Darkstar, Brad Mehldau

"A dark, mysterious realm shot through with rare blasts of pure, white light..."
- Clash

Jan Roth released his brilliant debut album L.O.W via cutting edge Berlin based label Sinnbus in the Summer of 2013, and he's about to round off 2014 with his latest EP, Jan Roth Quartett Live.

'Rinssal', the opening track from the Live EP, premiered on Clash Magazine's website and is available to stream for free via the Sinnbus SoundCloud page

Jan Roth's video for album track 'Einundzwanzig' is also available to watch now on the Sinnbus YouTube channel.

You can also download 'Kleine Freiheit' for free from the Sinnbus Soundcloud page.

Since the release of his debut album L.O.W., the fond tribute to the sunny side of melancholy, Jan has had many irons in the fire. Between jazz, classical, pop and electronic music, Roth strolls back and forth around the keyboard, only looking to see if there are any more spaces between the black and white keys.

The tracks on this Live EP were recorded as a quartet in Erfurt's technological museum and the music is a great counterpart to the pleasantly quirky surroundings of the location. Along with two tracks taken from L.O.W., Roth presents for the first time the unreleased track 'März'. In its reworked and broken-up form, the music has evolved and highlights an inner, inherent beauty when performed live.

Jan Roth Quartett Live is released 8th December 2014 via Sinnbus.

Petter Carlsen album ‘Sirens’ out now!

For fans of: Mew, Efterklang, Sigur Rós, Múm

"...raw emotion and a refreshing natural pop essence."
- The Line of Best Fit

Petter Carlsen has released his latest album Sirens via Function Records.

To give new fans a taste for Petter's sound, The Line Of Best Fit premiered the live video for album track 'You Could Be The One'. Watch it now via Petter Carlsen's YouTube channel.

Album track 'Tiger' was premiered on Gigwise and you can download and stream it for free from the ABoF SoundCloud page.

Petter channels a sound similar to his Scandinavian brethren Mew but there’s a beautiful melancholic edge to his voice, which elevates Petter’s sound beyond his peers. Even Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree is a fan, calling it ‘a classic’. ‘Never Leave Me’ is enchanting and dreamlike not unlike Sigur Rós but as the album progresses Petter reveals more hidden depths on tracks like ‘Wings’, where he creates lush, cinematic soundscapes as each track on the album is centred around the theme of love.

This third offering, Sirens, was produced by Wetle Holte (Eivind Aarset, Anja Garbarek, Wibutee) and mixed by Christer A. Cederberg (Anathema, Maria Mena).

Beautifully atmospheric, his music has been identified by progressive British rock outfit Anathema as something very special. Indeed, singer / guitarist Daniel Cavanagh states that ”once I heard Petter Carlsen's incredible voice and beautiful songwriting, as well as his warm personality, I always felt that he would be connected to and part of the inner circle of Anathema for a long time to come. Quite apart from being a great friend, he is the most talented musician I have ever met in my life.” Quite an accolade for Mr. Carlsen.

Sirens is released via Function Records and available to buy digitally on iTunes.
