The Fire And I release second album ‘Double Kamikaze’

"...there's fear, madness and brilliance in various amounts here."
- Rock Sound Magazine

The Fire And I have finally released their hotly anticipated second album Double Kamikaze via CarCrash Records. The album has already pulled in some impressive reviews, scoring 7/10 in Rock Sound Magazine, 8/10 in Shout4Music and received glowing support from The Sunday Herald.

To get a taste of the album, you can stream and download 'Runined//Graffitied' for free from our SoundCloud page.

The Scottish based two piece, comprised of bassist Gordon Love and drummer Hooligan Sadikson, were originally four. However, rather than finding new members, the pair decided to keep their minimalist bass / drums set-up, sharing vocals. Their acclaimed live performances have become a thing of legend on the live circuit - adrenaline-fuelled, no holds barred spectacles, their tracks burst to life on stage.

This high-octane noise is felt throughout the album. Opener ‘Devil Damned Thoughts’ is purely instrumental, showcasing the band’s love of the riff; there are hints of CKY meets That Fucking Tank - an exciting start and you can almost feel the sweat pouring from the speakers. Title track ‘Double Kamikaze’ could easily have made Queens of the Stone Age’s 1998 self-titled debut - unapologetic dirty rock. However, When The Fire And I calm the pace, their softer underbelly also has great potential - there are real shades of light on ‘Coming Loose’ akin to early Biffy Clyro’s quieter moments. Nevertheless, they don’t stay quiet for long, and the album is pure heart-pounding alt-rock.

Since their debut album Stampede Finale, the band have been honing their sound, with their aforementioned live performances being their ace in the hole and, as well as sharing a stage with Biffy Clyro, they’ve also headlined the T in the Park T-Break stage. Having picked up support from the likes of the aforementioned Rock Sound, Artrocker Magazine, Mad Mackerel and Jim Gellatly, the band are now ready to unveil Double Kamikaze as well as continuing their tour of the UK in March before heading off to Europe.

Double Kamikaze is released today, 10th March 2014, on CarCrash Records. It's available to buy on iTunes and the band's official website.

IndianRedLopez release video for ‘Silence/Vacuum’

“... a force to be reckoned with.” -
Q Magazine

At the end of February, IndianRedLopez unleashed their exclusive acoustic version of album track 'Silence/Vacuum'. Well, now they're back with a retrotastic home-movie style music video for the track. Check it out on YouTube.

The acoustic version of 'Silence/Vacuum' is available to download for free when pre-ordering the forthcoming album 'Commit' via the official IndianRedLopez website, which also includes ticket details for the band's up-and-coming UK and European tour.

Stream the exclusive acoustic version of 'Silence/Vacuum' on the official IndianRedLopez SoundCloud Page or from the embed below.

The album undulates through various genres as Giorgio Moroder and Talk Talk style 80s synth-pop meets shoegaze stalwarts such as Mew and Spiritualized. The band's ability to play with, and blend genres so seamlessly, is no more apparent on tracks like ‘No Longer Dying’ - lead singer Mike’s echoing vocals are flanked by samples, unabated keys and synths and a driven, piercing drumbeat.

'Silence/Vacuum' is featured on the band's forthcoming second album, Commit. The album was self-recorded in IndianRedLopez's bunker studio in Aberdeen and at a cottage in the idyllic surroundings of Loch Fyne in Scotland. To promote the release, IndianRedLopez aim to stage a variety of pop-up style events, collaborative art events and listening parties, as well as embarking on a tour of the UK and Europe with dates in Holland and Belgium lined up.

Commit by IndianRedLopez is released March 17th 2014 via Cease:Stop Records.
