Bugeye release single ‘Wake Up’!

For fans of: Le Tigre, Ex Hex, X-Ray Spex, Gossip

"...a powerful slice of disco-punk..."
- Team Rock

“...a riotous collection of songs...”
- Gay Times

“...resonates with the edgy euphoria of sleater-kinney...”
- The Revue

“...the soulful fierceness of Gossip and the craft and meodies of Sleater-Kinney.”
- God Is In The TV

Having made a splash in 2016, disco-punk three piece Bugeye have just released their new single, Wake Up, out now via Marwoo Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify .

The brand new eye-opening video for Wake Up is an animated video by Philippe Blaine, featuring cage dancing politicians who bear more than a passing resemblance to Theresa May and Nigel Farage! It premiered on Team Rock and you can watch it via the band's YouTube channel.

The track premiered on God Is In The TV and is now available to stream via the band's Soundcloud page.

Taking inspiration from 70’s punk and political movements of the time, fused with a modern DIY attitude, Bugeye take aim at the current social and political unrest sweeping the world, using their music as a call to arms, encouraging people to support one another in the fight for a brighter future. Elements of the riot grrrl sound that usurped the male dominated indie-rock scenes of the 90’s are flavoured with a sprinkling of the kind of upbeat indie-disco sound that made the likes of Le Tigre one of the most respected bands of their era.

Bugeye have dedicated Wake Up to DIY collectives fighting to make a difference in their local communities such as The Zine UK for their unstoppable support for up and coming talent, This Feeling for creating a much needed buzz to help keep rock music alive in this country, The Music Trust for their #fightback campaigns against music venue closures, Loud Women for pushing forward the fight of women in music, Northern Exposure and all collective communities striving for positive change around the world.

The band, who are made up of Angela Martin (Vox, Guitar), Paula Snow (Bass) and Jack Houston (Drums), formed in the late 90’s playing at some of London’s most notable venues; taking in The Astoria to Wembley and everything in between. Having returned from their hiatus in 2015, Bugeye played a number of shows in and around London before releasing their EP Never Let You Go in 2016. The wait was worthwhile with Bugeye picking up support from Gay Times, The Revue, God Is In The TV, Team Rock and Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 6 show.

Wake Up by Bugeye is out now via Marwoo Records and available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify .

Introducing… OAKLND!

For fans of... Astronomyy, Thomston, LANY

"...a breezy piece of yacht pop..." - Clash

Multi-instrumentalist OAKLND is delighted to unveil his breezy, California-inspired pop music through the release of his debut single Hold On, out on 3rd November 2017 via AWAL

The single premiered on Clash and is now available to stream on the OAKLND Soundcloud page.

Combining elements of the dreamy west coast pop produced by acts like LANY with the chillwave, R&B sensibilities of acts such as Astronomyy and Thomston, Hold On sees OAKLND craft a mellow electro-pop sound meshed with personal, biographical lyrical content, that is as rich in texture as it is in atmosphere.

Having played in a touring band in Scotland, Colin Mckillop decided to pursue a solo project on the back of a trip to Los Angeles; a trip that helped to consolidate the kind of dream-pop sound we can hear oozing from Hold On. Turning a small corner of his bedroom into a makeshift studio, OAKLND has honed his style over the past twelve months, leading him down a creative path that he could truly call his own and, ultimately, to the creation of his stylish debut single Hold On

Hold On by OAKLND is out in 3rd November 2017 via AWAL

Mt. Doubt announce new EP ‘Moon Landings’!

For fans of... The National, The Twilight Sad, The Birthday Suit, Franz Ferdinand

"...easily Mt. Doubt's poppiest sounding track to date with its catchy synth lines and perfectly balanced harmonies."
- The Skinny

"...mixes stark, jangling guitars with

confessional lyricism..."
- Team Rock

"...distinctive vocals and accomplished songwriting..."
- The Scotsman

Following the critical acclaim of their previous EP, The Loneliness Of The TV Watchers, Edinburgh's Mt. Doubt now prepare to release their new EP, Moon Landings, on 3rd November 2017 via Scottish Fiction Records.

To celebrate the announcement, the video for single Mouthwash premiered on The Skinny and you can also watch it via the band's YouTube channel.

The single is also available to stream on Scottish Fiction's Soundcloud page now.

The EP flows effortlessly, combining uptempo indie rock melodies with synth-infused beats and dark undertones throughout. Tracks such as ‘Conduits’ and ‘Teeming’ ooze Leo Bargery’s signature melancholic lyricism and distinctively deep baritone, while ‘A Shy Distance’ and ‘Moon Landings’ use scattered electronics to create something truly atmospheric. Lead single Mouthwash is undeniably catchy from the offset, sounding akin to the likes of Franz Ferdinand’s infectious indie pop roots.

Talking about the EP, Bargery explains “it all really benefits from the input of Ryan Firth who has recently become more involved in the whole recording process with Mt. Doubt. His keys really elevate a lot of the material as do the lovely vocals of Annie Booth, which are a bit more of a focal point here than they have been in the past!”

Starting out as Bargery’s solo project, Mt. Doubt has since expanded into a collective of five musicians, each bringing something unique to the table. Since the release of their critically acclaimed albums In Awe Of Nothing and My Past Is A Quiet Beast, and most recently The Loneliness Of The TV Watchers, Mt. Doubt have received praise from the likes of The Scotsman, The National and Team Rock, as well as BBC 6Music and BBC Radio Scotland to name but a few. They are also no strangers to the Scottish live circuit, having performed at T In the Park, Brew At The Bog and supported We Were Promised Jetpacks, Admiral Fallow and White Lies amongst others.

Catch Mt. Doubt live at the following dates:

29th October - The Blue Man, Brighton
11th November - Songs from Northern Britain, Stockton-on-Tee
12th November Surf Café, Tyneside
18th November - SEALL, Isle Of Skye

Mouthwash by Mt. Doubt is out now via Scottish Fiction Records. It's available to stream on Spotify and iTunes. Moon Landings is out on 3rd November 2017 via Scottish Fiction Records.

Introducing… Circumnavigate!

For fans of... The Cinematic Orchestra, Of Monsters And Men, Sigur Rós, Billie Marten

"...graceful and undeniably compelling." - Folk Radio UK

"…glazes listeners into a musical haze as though they are viewing the beauty of the northern lights without seeing them." - Music Week

Dream-folk quartet Circumnavigate are due to release their captivating debut album, When Worlds Collide, on 14th December 2017.

Taken from the album, new single Secret premiered on Folk Radio UK and you can listen to it now via the band's Soundcloud page.

The album is a collection of honest songs about finding connections, love and community with people from different backgrounds, cultures and countries. Each track on the album is filled with cinematic soundscapes akin to the likes of Sigur Rós and The Cinematic Orchestra, combined with flawless four-part harmonies throughout. Lead single Secret is a stunningly intimate folk song with lead singer Sigrid Zeiner-Gundersen’s celestial vocal carrying the song effortlessly alongside the band’s atmospheric musicianship. Warm strings sections, trumpet lines and mesmerising harmonies are blended majestically throughout the album to create something both graceful and undeniably compelling.

Sigrid (vocals/production) met Carl Frederik Kontny (piano/guitar/vocals) at school in Sandvika, Norway, where they would perform covers in school talent competitions. Sigrid later moved to London to study music and met Ross Craib (percussion/vocals) and Charlie Fowler (bass/vocals) through mutual friends. Between them, Circumnavigate have collectively played for some of London's most respected artists including Foxes, Adam Lambert, Sigala, Romans, Gabrielle Aplin, Maverick Sabre and Crystal Fighters to name but a few. They have also been supported by the likes of Music Week, Disorder Magazine and BBC Introducing Devon, as well as being involved in numerous Hollywood productions for the purposes of music to film.

When Worlds Collides is out on 14th December 2017.
