Introducing… FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE!

For fans of... Everything Everything, Foals, East India Youth, Delphic

“Jerky 2-bit dance pop for indie geeks…” - NME

Hamburg’s FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! release their debut album Atlas on 28th April 2014 via Audiolith. The album channels, youth, wonderment and discovery, about young hearts trading in security for the unknown - a life of possibilities and adventure - something we all yearn.

You can listen to, and download, their free album track "HOME" on Audiolith's SoundCloud page.

Check out the visually stunning video for the track on Audiolith's YouTube page.

The band’s name - FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! - speaks for itself. Whilst listening to Atlas you can imagine club kids from Dalston, London to Williamsburg, New York dancing carefree in the darkest, coolest corners of some of the best underground clubs, music pulsing, the band’s name emblazoned onto loose fitted vests, graffitied luminously across brick walls - FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! have the capacity to start a movement.

Opening with title track ‘Atlas’, the band evoke the feeling of the joyous abandon of youth but FALD bring the intelligence of Foals whilst maintaining that edge. Progressing forward, a more electronic vibe seeps in with tracks like ‘Home’, channeling an early Friendly Fires sound. There’s a wistfulness about Atlas though, something that East India Youth fans will definitely find appealing but they never slow the pace, they aim to bring you up and keep you there right until the very last track.

Although Atlas is the band’s debut, they’ve been hard at work during their inception in 2009. FALD literally formed from a need to make people dance, tired of watching ‘gig zombies’ stand around at local live shows, they wanted to inspire people to move. Before they had even released a record, they played over 200 gigs earning a reputation for their upbeat, danceable performances. They soon found themselves flying across the Atlantic to SXSW, impressing audiences with their international sound, which led to their 2012 EP Lovers Arcade.

With Atlas, this addictive four-piece will make you dance, sweat and smile - they embody both the fun and introspective elements of youth and have translated them into thirteen perfect tracks.

If you want to catch one of their electrifying live shows, FUCK ART, LET'S DANCE! will be playing at Proud Camden on 22nd February 2014. You can buy your ticket here.

Atlas is released on 28th April 2014 via Audiolith.

Algernon Doll releases new single, Spilt Milk Perfume.

For fans of: Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, The Jesus Lizard

"…one of the most exciting artists to emerge in a while." -
Artrocker Magazine

Algernon Doll returns with his brilliant new single, Spilt Milk Perfume, taken from his forthcoming album due for release Summer 2014. The single is available to buy now on Struggletown Records official BandCamp Page.

You can listen to the single by streaming it on our SoundCloud page.

Check out the video for Spilt Milk Perfume on Algernon Doll's YouTube page.

Spilt Milk Perfume sees Algernon Doll, aka Ewan Grant, continue to hone and perfect his alternative guitar sound and poignant lyrics. At just 24 years old, Ewan already has two critically acclaimed albums behind him and is due to release a third later this year. Having initially been compared to Elliott Smith due to his acerbic, alternative acoustic style, Ewan has exhibited his chameleonic creative output by altering his sound with each release - with every single or album different from the last.

Spilt Milk Perfume pulls on influences such as Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins and Fugazi to produce an up tempo, driven rock track, one which the aforementioned bands could proudly call their own. Ewan’s characteristic lyrics are still evident as the single comes to life with chiming guitar, distorted vocals and an expert drum beat reminiscent of Dave Grohl on In Utero.

Over the last year Algernon Doll has been supported by the likes of NME.com, Mad Mackerel, Radar Scotsman, God Is In The TV, For Folk Sake and Artrocker - highlighting the diversity in the music he creates. 2014 is a year where Algernon Doll aims to further enhance his reputation as one of Scotland’s most talented up-and-coming musicians.

Spilt Milk Perfume by Algernon Doll is officially out on 17th February 2014 via Struggletown Records and can be purchased via Struggletown Records official BandCamp Page.

Introducing… Mano’s Daughter!

For fans of: Florence + The Machine, Jessie Ware, Lorde

Synth pop three piece Mano’s Daughter are back with the follow-up to their debut single The Machine. Smart features five intelligent, modern pop tracks capturing the band’s anthemic, ethereal style. Smart is released on 31st March 2013 via Smart & Shiver Records.

You can listen to and download "The Machine", a track taken from Smart, over on the band's SoundCloud page.

Consisting of Sarah Carter (Vocals), Matthias Garrick (Synths, programming) and Dan See (Drums), the band have been described as a mixture of Little Dragon, Florence + The Machine, with hints of Portishead. They're also renowned for creating explosive live shows, packed with huge choruses and thought provoking lyrics, proudly counting comedian Tim Minchin as one of their biggest fans.

The EP eases in with ‘The Truth In The Madness’ before cascading into the sci-fi soaked sound and imagery of ‘The Machine’. It's a masterful blend of Sarah's strong vocal presence fuelled by a backing track that wouldn't sound out of place in a neon dive bar in the darkest recesses of Blade Runner's LA. Smart, however, isn’t all bombastic synth melodies, there are quiet moments that present the heart of the band. As the EP progresses, we see a softer side emerging with ‘Tailored’ and ‘September’ - imagine Lykke Li covering Cat Power and you’re almost there.

With influences ranging from Bon Iver to Moloko, Mano’s Daughter put their songs at the heart of their identity, spinning epic lyrical stories with intricate production, having created a luscious EP that will astound and impress their fans and newcomers alike.

Smart is released on 31st March 2014 via Smart & Shiver Records.

Fantôme release free track ‘Scream’

For fans of... Atari Teenage Riot, Le Tigre, Nine Inch Nails

Fantôme is Hanin Elias (ex Atari Teenage Riot and founder of Fatal Recordings) and Marcel Zürcher (Die Krupps). Their debut album, It All Makes Sense is a beautiful new wave, shoe gaze epic illustrating the story of a woman in touch with her emotions and scars. She gets up after every knock down and keeps on walking into the rising sunshine. It's set for release on 17th February 2014 via Snowhite.

Fantôme recently released the free album track 'Scream'. It went up exclusively on The Quietus but is now available to download via the ABoF Soundcloud page.

The video for Fantôme's recently released single, Love is available to watch now on YouTube.

It All Makes Sense, for the most part, was recorded with analogue instruments (guitar, bass, drums and piano) by multi-instrumentalist Marcel Zürcher with Hanin Elias' vocals showcasing melancholic dreamy melodies and authentic lyrics. The album has a cozy sound that creates intimacy. Influences such as Leonard Cohen and flavours of My Bloody Valentine linger throughout most of the album. The combination of the duo creates a sound that is strong, dreamy and forceful.

Opening track, "Future Heroes", provides a slow build up before deftly showing its hand with an explosive chorus that blends choppy guitars and bass with an industrial live drum track. It's a strong opening that sets the tone for the album, with throbbing electronica and fallen-angel vocals fused together to create a speaker thumping collection of songs that fare just as well on the dancefloor as they do your stereo.

The album features a free bonus track, a Lorenzo Montana remix of speaker shaking album track, "The Key", featuring scream queen Asia Argento on vocals. It transforms the track into a dirty and sensual descent into industrial techno that's sure to whet the appetites of long-time Atari Teenage Riot fans.

Just listen to It All Makes Sense and it will all make sense.

It All Makes Sense is released February 17th 2014.

In just four perfectly formed tracks, the band manage to display different shades of songwriting that flits from the cerebral opening title track, ‘Paradise Place’ to the youthfully exuberant, Biffy Clyro-esque ‘A Bastard Son, A Brother To None’ - a track that you’ll find hard not to belt out as the band lead you into one of the catchiest choruses you’ll hear in a while. They have also supported Northern Irish Goliaths And So I Watch You From Afar and their mighty compatriots Frightened Rabbit at a sold out show in their hometown of Perth. All three of their singles from debut EP Cope secured them airplay on BBC Radio One’s Introducing amongst others, racking up around 10,000 views for their first and only music video to date. The band are headed for even more success with latest offering Paradise Place, which sees a progression in song writing, musicianship and deliverance.

With support already coming from Rock Sound, BBC Radio 1’s Ally McCrae, Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly and mentions on Drowned in Sound and strong local support in Scotland, We Came From Wolves are ready to make 2014 their year.
