Fat Goth’s new album ‘Enorme!’ out now!
“…Fat Goth are the unholy god
-children of Fugazi and ZZ Top,
with their complex riffology boasting
a physical impact...”
- Clash
After exploding onto the scene four albums ago, Fat Goth's fast paced Mike Patton style brand of wonky alt-rock made quite an impression, particularly with second album Stud (2013) and their third offering One Hundred Percent Suave (2014). Shortly after, the Scottish three-piece took a break from the heady heights of fame and (mis)fortune retiring from the Dundee ‘high life’ after the press storm to regroup. The result is their fourth album Enorme! out now via Hefty Dafty Records.
Explosive new track 'Carpe Diem' premiered on The Skinny but it's available to stream now on Fat Goth's Soundcloud Page or alternatively you can buy it now via the band's Bandcamp page.
The video for Thoroughbred, which premiered on Louder Than War and is available to watch now on Fat Goth's YouTube channel.
Enorme! is not short on meaty riffs, head-bobbing, balls out rock and a tight rhythm section that has become Fat Goth’s signature sound. However, the boys have turned their backs on the tongue-in-cheek themes conveyed in their last three albums, where they explored the feeling of being the outsiders, the awkward unfashionable don’t-give-a-shit outcasts that were expert at delivering huge, heavy music with sinister humour.
Frontman, vocalist and guitarist Fraser Stewart describes Enorme! as their “angriest” effort yet, as Fat Goth’s ire has turned to the political and social cluster fuck we currently all find ourselves in. “We live in a world where sociopolitical discourse, injustice and prejudices are rife and appear to increase on a daily basis, resulting in such dire circumstances becoming ‘the norm’ and subsequent headlines being met with continual indifference and fatigue,” Stewart explains. “Thanks to social media, we all have a platform where we can spout our outrage and condemn the things we see as wrong, but when everyone is doing the exact same and simply preaching to their respective choirs, there is no debate, no engagement and ultimately no resolve. We fight amongst ourselves allowing hatred and ignorance to cloud our judgement while those responsible continue to fly high and way out of reach of significant scrutiny and accountability. Thematically this is what Enorme! attempts to illustrate.” The anger, frustration and rage is contained within 30-minutes of fast-paced, high-octane rock.
Rock Sound, Kerrang!, Q, The Line of Best Fit, Terrorizer, Louder Than War, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland, Drowned In Sound, The Skinny, The List and many more of the band’s previous supporters should be happy to see the band return with their uncompromising sound and a more focussed outlook.

We Came From Wolves release ‘The Peak Beneath The Sea’!
“…open, honest rock…” - Clash
“Feels, hooks and more feels...”- Rock Sound
“…massive, heartfelt…” - Upset
We Came From Wolves' latest single The Peak Beneath The Sea is a bold, emotive alt rock track that sees the Scottish four-piece bare their heart on their sleeves. The track is out now via Struck Dum Records and is available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
The single premiered on Clash and is also available to stream via the band's Soundcloud page and watch on the band's YouTube channel.
The band’s previous single, Places Unfamiliar, addressed mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, which some of the band have experienced. However, The Peak Beneath The Sea turns a corner as the band look towards the future, finding a away to live with these issues. Frontman Kyle Burgess explains, “The Peak Beneath the Sea is about trying to overcome these issues, and in particular, finding that place or those people who can help you do that, whether physical or metaphysical, whilst also accepting the painful truth that it may never be possible to fully escape the darkness but instead work on growing stronger to keep it at bay.”
Producer Bruce Rintoul (Fatherson, Twin Atlantic) and mixer Phil Gornell (Bring Me The Horizon, All Time Low) worked with the boys on the single. In Scotland, The Skinny, The List, The Daily Record and The Herald are amongst the band’s supporters, whilst elsewhere Rock Sound,Kerrang!, Team Rock and Amazing Radio have previously covered the band.
We Came From Wolves have amassed a strong live following, working hard to build their fan base from the ground up, playing shows up and down the country. Places Unfamiliar hit new heights for the band, playlisted on the official Spotify Rock Charts in the UK, Germany and France. In April and May, the band embark on a Scottish tour to promote the single, with shows planned at various festivals over the summer and another UK and European tour in October as they bring their raw energy, passion and heart-on-sleeve rock to audiences old and new.

The Imagineers’ album ‘Utopian Dreams’ out now!
"...fuses strident indie songwriting with ambitious, widescreen arrangements." - Clash
"...a slice of west coast surf pop goodness." - The List
Eclectic Scottish five-piece The Imagineers' latest album Utopian Dreams is out now via Hit The Light Records. Physical copies, including vinyl, are available to buy via Big Cartel and digital copies are available on iTunes now.
To celebrate the release, The List have exclusively premiered the album and its also available to stream on Spotify.
The video for the band's latest single Californians Drive All Day (In the Sunshine) premiered on The Skinny and is also available to view via The Imagineers' YouTube channel.
The video for The Imagineers' previous single and title track Utopian Dreams premiered on Clash and is now available to watch via the band's YouTube channel.
The album is full of melodic twists and turns throughout; taking in elements of west coast surf, baroque pop, and singer songwriter, giving the album a film score feel. However, there is no denying a clear brill building pop inspiration and the band’s unique take on it, creating a sonic storyboard that could have starred the likes of Burt Bacharach and David Bowie, orchestrated by Ennio Morricone. The Imagineers have endeavoured to create an intriguing sound akin to The Growlers combined with a storytelling quality that would make Ben Folds proud. Lead singer Stevie Young’s (vocals, guitar) undeniable Scottish twang, as well as the band’s natural cinematic flare, mean that The Imagineers have created a sound uniquely their own.
After the original band members parted ways in 2013, Stevie travelled Europe with his guitar in tow, finding new inspiration by playing with various musicians around rural Spain, France and Italy. Eventually, Utopian Dreams was created and, with the help of producer Tommy Phillips (keys), the record began to take shape. With Scott Forsyth (drums, percussion, backing vocals), David Dunsmuir (bass) and Craig McGown (lead guitar, backing vocals) added to the ranks, The Imagineers were officially reborn.
The band appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in 2012, before receiving praise from an array of publications including The Scotsman, Tenement TV, The Daily Record and The Evening Times as well as performing live at festivals T in The Park and Wickerman.
Catch the band live at the following dates:
