Lyrics such as “what is seven seconds when you have a life time” resonate repeatedly at the end of the track, immersing the listener in the vision Katie is expertly creating with her undoubted natural flair for music, mirroring the sound of more mature artists such as Feist and SOAK in the process.

Based in the north of Scotland’s Aberdeen, Katie’s profile has risen considerably in the last year or so. Having played and written with her father, singer-songwriter Charley Buchan who also runs Fit Like Records, Katie has managed to co-produce an album that has seen her reaching a bigger audience with each and every track released. Carve Every Word itself picked up great support from the likes of The Herald, Artrocker Magazine, Musos Guide, BBC Radio Scotland, STV, Clash Magazine, Folk Radio and Amelia’s Magazine.

The summer will see no respite for Katie as she heads to the US on tour in August.

We Came From Wolves release free download ‘Glasgow Stranger’!

For fans of: Biffy Clyro, Kids In Glass Houses, Twin Atlantic

“Feels, hooks and more feels”- Rock Sound

We Came From Wolves have released 'Glasgow Stranger', a free track taken from their self-titled debut album.

GigSlutz premiered the free track, describing it as "a perfect, hopeful tale of youth, for any indie-pop fan." You can stream and download it now via the ABoF SoundCloud page.

The video for album track 'Glasgow Stranger' premiered on Kerrang!'s website, and you can watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.

If you'd like to hear the album in full, Team Rock are hosting an exclusive stream on their website.

This is a coming of age album, one that explores the trials and tribulations of the slide into your late twenties as the band leave frivolity and turmoil behind, entering a more centred place. Particularly affected by his surroundings, Kyle also yearns for a better place, a place of passion and meaning within the daily grind as heard on single Am I Useful?. 2014’s Scottish referendum also had a massive effect on him as a young Scot working for a better future, and this frustration and anger can be heard throughout the album.

However, We Came From Wolves do well to steer away from the ‘angsty’ side of rock erring on the side of honesty, the music reflecting the album’s sometimes darker subject matter. We Came From Wolves have pushed themselves with this debut and produced an album that encapsulates youth, soul searching and hope.

Previous single, Am I Useful premiered on Team Rock, and you can download and stream it for free via A Badge of Friendship's SoundCloud page. You can also watch the video that premiered on Rock Sound via the band's YouTube channel.

We Came From Wolves' self titled debut album is out now via Saraseto Records and available to buy digitally via iTunes and on limited edition CD via Bandcamp.

Leon Of Athens’ single ‘Global’ out now!

"…electronic pop songs inflected with folk…"
- Guardian

For fans of: East India Youth, St. Vincent, MGMT

Leon of Athens (aka Timoleon Veremis) has re-released his single Global, taken from the album of the same name. Global is out now via Mimosa’s Dream Records through Believe Digital and available to buy digitally on iTunes.

You can also watch the single's sun soaked video on YouTube.

Global is a mesmerising shift of oceanic energy and sublime pop action. Pumped up, bright tones are infiltrated with soulful vibes and stirring brass, laced with an underlying melancholy. The song documents the life of a character who has been travelling forever, literally and metaphorically. He's lived through thousands of years, searching for a resting place amongst the mayhem. He stands, his tears turned to ice, in the hope of humanity changing.

Produced by Tony Doogan, who’s worked with the likes of Mogwai and Belle & Sebastian, this indie dance track brings together elements of electro and acoustic tones, as folk, pop and rock come together to paint a world of musical colours.
Leon's vibe is upbeat and euphoric, with social awareness running throughout.

The video and stream for free download track 'Lifeline' premiered on Clash Magazine's website. You can stream and download the track for free via Leon Of Athen's SoundCloud page and watch the video on YouTube channel.

Leon Veremis is originally from Athens in Greece, his sound evolved while living in the city's counter cultural quarter, Exarchia.
The first material he released was inspired by a country in crisis, making headlines there and in the US; within just a few months he was playing to audiences of thousands in Greece.

Now based in London, Leon’s music draws influences from acts such as MGMT, Grizzly Bear, and St Vincent, to name but a few. His album, Global, heralds a more optimistic point of view, incorporating themes of love, fantasy, dreams and ideas, all drawn together by a social documentary style.

Global is released via Mimosa’s Dream Records through Believe Digital and and available to buy digitally on iTunes.

Rag Foundation album ‘The Sparrow & The Thief’ out now!

"...poised to step into the bright lights of commercial success..."
- Folk Radio UK

For fans of: The Decembrists, Noah & The Whale, Bombay Bicycle Club

Rag Foundation have released their fourth album, The Sparrow & The Thief, via Rhondda Street Studio Recordings. It's available to buy digitally on iTunes.

The video for their single Keep The Lights Low premiered on Folk Radio UK and you can watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.

You can also stream the band's previous single Run via the ABoF SoundCloud page and watch the video that accompanies the track on the band's YouTube channel.

The Sparrow & The Thief is a narrative tour de force, with singles Run and Keep The Lights Low showcasing their ability to create sumptuous vocal harmonies interlaced with intricate indie folk compositions which bear comparison to the likes of Noah & The Whale and The Decembrists with elements of Fleetwood Mac. The band’s folk background is evident throughout, but shines brightest on tracks such as ‘Sparrow Song’ and ‘Freedom is a Stranger’.

The band have always been fascinated by the dark stories behind certain songs - murder, betrayal, infidelity - essentially all the good things in life. With The Sparrow & The Thief they’ve produced a folk tinged collection of tales that they’re keen for listeners to explore.

Rag Foundation are Neil Woolard (vocals), Richard Cowell (guitar & vocals), Daniel Kilbride (bass & vocals), Kate Ronconi (fiddle, banjo, keys & vocals) and Huw Rees (percussion & vocals), five people brought together by their working class, traditional roots. Based in Swansea, the band are as comfortable performing traditional welsh songs written centuries ago as they are writing contemporary, alternative folk that explores the darker side of humanity.

Rag Foundation will be spending the rest of 2015 touring the UK, spreading their music as far as they can.

The Sparrow & The Thief is released via Rhondda Street Studio Recordings and available to buy digitally on iTunes.

Totem Terrors’ album ‘Hard Science’ out now!

For fans of: Swans, Liars, Lightning Bolt

"...a sheer blast and a swift punch in the gut."
-Drowned In Sound

"A low key, off kilter post-punk gem..." - Clash

"Absolutely Howling" - Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music

Totem Terrors have released their second album, Hard Science via Diet Pops. A sonic punch to the stomach, Hard Science is an accomplished minimalist post punk opus riffing on themes of alienation and is available to buy digitally on iTunes and on limited edition vinyl and CD via BandCamp.

Their single Narrowman premiered on Clash Magazine's website and you can stream it now via the band's SoundCloud page.

The video for Narrowman premiered on The Line Of Best Fit who described it as "positively brimming with playful irony," and you can watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.

Opening track and free download ‘Big E’, holds nothing back, kicking-off with a glorious smear of distortion and needle-sharp guitar, as Max Hicks’ (vocals, bass & drum programming) robotic chant is counterpointed by Rosie Smith’s (vocals, guitar and synth) Nico-esque responses. The album could easily soundtrack a factory scene from Lang’s Metropolis, with its masterful use of drone and repetition to create a surreal industrial rock soundscape. ‘Narrowman’ showcases the duo’s ability to write stripped back dance floor fillers, with agitprop lyrics and synthetic disco beats surrounded by the chaos of distortion, while tracks like ‘Chicken’ allow Totem Terrors to wear influences like Wire and Big Black on their sleeves, whilst making a sound that is distinctly their own.

You can also stream and download 'Lies' for free via the Totem Terrors SoundCloud page and watch the live video that accompanies it via the band's YouTube channel.

Hard Science was written, recorded and mixed by the duo themselves, and they have been known to fabricate their own pedals and instruments, very much staying true to the ideals of their post-punk influences. They’ve already picked up airplay from the likes of BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio, as well as reviews from Drowned In Sound and Louder Than War, to name but a few. They're currently gearing up for a Summer tour, taking their extensive collection of post-punk nuggets on the road.

Totem Terrors second album Hard Science is released via Diet Pops and available to buy digitally on iTunes and on limited edition vinyl and CD via BandCamp.
