Idlewild’s ‘Everything Ever Written’ out now!

"A Grateful Dead-like grace which could be their best work so far." - The Independent

"...their best album yet." - The Times

“…a genre-traversing, surprising, melodic, poetic, anthemic record with heart, smarts and soul.” - Drowned in Sound

The long wait is over - Idlewild's Everything Ever Written is out now!

Everything Ever Written is one of the band's strongest albums yet. Describing their new found sound as 'Hebridean Psychedlia', the band explore an array of genres from Scottish folk to Americana - their most eclectic output to date.

The Independent, The Times and Music OMH are amongst those singing their long awaited album's praises, calling this Idlewild's best work to date with Drowned in Sound giving them a glowing 9/10 review whilst The Herald, Kerrang! and The List comment on the band's new found vitality and direction. The Guardian hail the album as 'forlornly poetic indie romance' and The Quietus, Q, and DIY Magazine mark the album as a welcome return.

Everything Ever Written has also been chosen as BBC 6Music's 'Album Of The Day' for Thursday February 19th.

BBC 6Music's Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Shaun Keaveny plus BBC Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary and XFM have also been amongst the band's biggest supporters with both singles from the album - Collect Yourself and Come On Ghost - making the 6Music A-list.

To celebrate the release of Everything Ever Written, The Skinny featured the band on the cover of this month's issue along with an interview. The magazine have also been posting an exclusive acoustic session a day on their website for The Skinny's 7 Days of Idlewild.
