Introducing… Goldie Thorn!
Electro duo Goldie Thorn release their hypnotic 80s synth inspired single Down Town Time on 27th October 2014 via Cabana Records.
The video for the single premiered on Artrocker and you can now watch it via Goldie Thorn's YouTube channel.
Down Town Time is taken from their forthcoming EP Canal Life. The track blends sparse 80s synth with a modern edge. Although their influences range from Grace Jones to The Avalanches, the single feels more like Hot Chip meets LCD Soundsystem.
“Down Town Time was written as a bit of a reflection of being a semi desert county boy moving to the big smoke, and remembering the endless space and time down under,” explains Reverend Thorn. Both he and Gold & Chain met two years ago in their native Australia before heading over to London. They had spent over ten years playing in various bands before becoming both romantically and musically involved.
With the move, Goldie Thorn was born and after a number of video and single releases, the band are ready to cement their name on the scene with Down Town Time and the release of their Canal Life EP shortly after.
The single arrives just in time as we look forward to 2015. Goldie Thorn have the potential to be one of the most intriguing electro duos on the London scene, with Down Town Time a mere taster of what’s to come.
