Introducing… Wayter

Wayter

London based four-piece, Wayter, formed in 2007 having moved to these shores independently from the likes of Argentina, Spain, Devon and Berkshire. For the last three years the boys have been playing shows and honing their sound and they even managed to release their first EP – Marco Polo.

Wayter’s Oscar (Drums / Vox), Juan (Guitar / Vox), Eddie (Vox / Guitar) and Dan (Bass) have been busy this last year writing, recording and readying themselves for their debut album set for a 2011 release. In the meantime, the boys have decided to whet the appetite of anticipation with the release of single Cheese Sandwich on December 6th 2010.

This single track is an illustration of four musicians who know precisely what they are trying to achieve. This is a supremely alternative, yet melodic journey akin to underground heavyweights such as Slint, Fugazi and Juno with a splash of sixties psychedelic whimsicalness thrown in for good measure!

Cheese Sandwich is the sound of a band on the up, a band that conjures warm feelings in the heart and soul of every underground music fans across the board. With its’ repetitive, melancholic guitar pieces and strained poignant vocals, the alt-rock foursome manage to evoke the feeling of both menace and vulnerability simultaneously.

Wayter are a band with an exciting, fresh and alternative sound. They envelope the listener with a multitude of textures and layers and are definitely about to cement their place on the road of 2011’s most anticipated bands.

Cheese Sandwich is available as a free download single and is officially released on December 6th 2010. In the meantime, you can download a copy from our Sound Cloud page.
