Goldie Thorn’s EP ‘Canal Life’ out now!

Goldie Thorn are pleased to announce that their latest EP Canal Life is out now via Dreamtime Records.
Canal Life captures the pulse of the city, utilising found sounds and cheeky samples to create a subdued but energetic musical portrait of London. Chameleonic in nature, these tunes are just as effective blasted out of PA speakers at a packed warehouse dance floor, or back at home surrounded by friends at the afterparty, when you just don’t want the night to end.
Goldie Thorn have released a video for EP track 'Chrome Night', which you can watch it now via the band's YouTube channel.
Reverend Thorn (synths & production) and Gold & Chain (vocals & drums) began their journey in Australia, two musicians thrown together by a shared love of Giorgio Moroder, LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. They joined forces and moved to the UK to spread their message, the message in this case being a collection of electronically infused tunes designed to get you to stand up and pay attention.
Previous single Down Town Time was a blend of sparse 80s synth with a modern edge. With their forthcoming EP Canal Life Goldie Thorn have captured the sound of a city that is always in motion, and have found delicate beauty in its darker corners. Now they’re ready to share it with you.
Canal Life is out now via Dreamtime Records and bonus fourth track, ‘Chrome Night (Faze Action remix)’, will be available for those who buy the EP digitally.
Introducing… The Van T’s!

Armed with a surf rock vibe, and a dark predilection for all things gothic, The Van T's have released free download track 'Growler' to celebrate the announcement of their debut EP Laguna Babe.
The band have created a 50s jukebox sound packaged in a 90s style John Hughes movie, as every note slickly pours from your stereo raising the hairs on the back of your neck. 'Growler', which premiered on Clash Music, showcases the band's cloudy, noise pop sensibilities magnificently, and can be downloaded for free via the ABoF Soundcloud page.
Laguna Babe is a collection of vignettes covering the highs and lows of twin sisters Hannah and Chloe Van Thompson’s life. The two front women create songs that are both personal and quirky as they document the positive and negative experiences of dealing with their late teens, no subject too risqué, as they approach their twenties. The EP’s title track is a no nonsense garage rock number, with a heavy reverb sound giving it an other worldly feel, as grunge-inspired guitar licks and Karen O style vocal delivery captivates you, as their no-frills, high energy sound grips you and doesn't want to let go. This sets the tone perfectly for what’s to come on the EP, with tracks such as ‘Growler’ channeling the surf rock sounds of Hinds and Dum Dum Girls, while providing bassist Joanne Forbes and drummer Shaun Hood an outlet to compete with the twisted synchronicity of dual-leads Hannah and Chloe.
The Van T’s have already graced the stage of T In The Park and Electric Fields as well as recently supporting the brilliant Honeyblood. They plan to spend the rest of they year touring Scotland and beyond as the band begin to break out from their hometown in the west of Scotland, ready to take on the rest of the world.
Laguna Babe is released via Bloc+ Music on 13th November 2015.
We’re No Heroes announce new track ‘Stay Weird’!

"Shifty disco beats, syncopated guitars and flawless vocalpassing."

We’re No Heroes are back with their latest indie funk infused single Stay Weird, released digitally on 13th November 2015 via Spiral Icon. The single will also be available as a double a-side single on vinyl along with indie punk belter Voodoo, on 27th November 2015.
Stay Weird premiered on Gigwise who described it as 'Unbelievable funk'. You can stream the track now via Spiral Icon's Soundcloud page.
The band combine raw, punk and indie energy, fusing this sound with grooves and melodies akin to soul act Jungle, creating their own unique and exciting sound. Stay Weird kicks off with a sharp guitar hook before developing into their groove-laden indie disco style. The song is an ode to feeling proud of being different and letting what’s unique abut yourself grow instead of holding it back.
Voodoo is the edgier side of the single, but its origins come from a very personal place. Lyrically, it captures the uncertainty following a painful break up, and the need to move on into the unknown before being able to truly find happiness. While the theme may sound heavy duty, the upbeat guitar and driving vocals creates a truly accomplished party song. Voodoo gained a number of supporters upon its original release including BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens), BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq) and Amazing Radio (Shell Zenner).
Originally formed in a downtown studio space in Chicago, the band are Tom Collins (vocals and guitar), Luke Llewellyn (drums and vocals) and Michael Owen (bass and vocals). Having known each other since childhood, their close connection shows in everything they do from their performances to their hands on approach to loyal fans, aka WNH The Wolfpack. We’re No Heroes have played alongside the likes of Public Service Broadcast, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Future Of The Left and have been busy playing a host of UK festivals over the summer.
Stay Weird is released digitally on 13th November 2015 via Spiral Icon. Double a-side single Stay Weird / Voodoo is released 27th November 2015 on vinyl.
We Are The City release ‘Keep On Dancing’ video!

We Are The City are pleased to announce the release of their latest video Keep On Dancing, which you can watch now on the band's YouTube page.
The track premiered on Clash Music who called it "a surrealistic synth jammer". You can also stream Keep On Dancing now via Soundcloud.
We Are The City exist on the horizon of vision, a beacon in the distance that slowly gets closer as you walk towards it, the true scale of their sound looming ever larger. Their forthcoming single Keep On Dancing follows on from their debut album, Violent, which was released earlier this year to acclaim from the likes of Drowned In Sound and The Line Of Best Fit.
With a blend of Cayne McKenzie’s tropical keys and distant ethereal vocals with Andrew Huculiak’s tribal drums and David Menzel minimalist and atmospheric guitar, the trio create a whirlwind of music that elevates the listener. There’s also a strong message of positivity in the lyrics as, faced with the trials and tribulations of life, no matter how tempting withdrawal from the world can be, it’s important to power through and find the strength to carry on.
We Are The City are also talented directors, script writers and film producers, creating their own music videos and even their own film Violent. The band’s influences range from Mew to Bowie and although this can be heard in their quirky, off-kilter time signatures and whimsical melodies, they’ve very much carved out their own personal sound.
