Following the success of last year’s single Easy, London-based Kid Cupid have now released their debut EP Unholy Ceremony. Based around conversations you’d have with a friend in pain, the EP is filled with everything you’d want to say to them during a time of need. Oozing a blissful, impassioned splendour and propelled by the silky smooth, soulful vocals of Laura Shaw, it's a perfectly uplifting summer soundtrack with shades of the likes of Låpsley or Little Dragon.

Taken from Catgod's forthcoming EP Heartbeat In My Hand, Keep My Promises is a spellbinding fusion of sounds. Interweaving swirling folk-tinged melodies with trip-hop-inspired beats, Robin’s soaring vocals are perfectly complemented by Cat’s exquisite harmonies. Written as an ode to a friend whose marriage was breaking down, I Don’t Mind highlights the importance of friendship at hard times and the need to open up. Filled with sweeping melodies and Aaron Ward’s emotive, colloquial vocals, I Don’t Mind fuses together a gentle, folk-tinged musicality with glitchy electronic hooks to create an impassioned ballad.

Nausica's new single Black & White symbolically describes two different mindsets in the form of an ongoing flashback. The band elaborates, “conscious choices are made with clear memories, in contradiction to the typical grey area, where everything you feel and do seems blurry. The chorus could be perceived as the deep, powerful and colourful output of emotions, almost losing the feeling for reality”. Mesmerising electronic soundscapes carry the track effortlessly alongside lead singer Edita Karkoschka's smooth, rich vocals, sounding akin to the likes of PJ Harvey or Karen O.

Singer songwriter Scott Swain has now shared the latest single from his captivating and compelling debut EP, Goodbye Country, Goodbye Home. Inspired by the film Blade Runner, Rachel is filled with cinematic soundscapes from the offset. The single, along with the EP, also tackles the difficult subject of Brexit. Swain elaborates "I can’t help but see Theresa May as a replicant (only lacking the grace and elegance of the character ‘Rachel’ in the film). In the context of my EP; it’s Brexit - as the Blade Runner - which has come to ‘retire’ Theresa May.”
