Death Rattle release single ‘Wait’!

"...Lynchian-grade dystopian opera."

- The Line of Best Fit

"...remarkably intense..." - The 405

"I was blown away..."

- John Kennedy, XFM

Death Rattle have released their new single Wait, available on iTunes via Limb Records.

Wait was announced exclusively on The Line Of Best Fit and Earmilk but has since been available to stream directly from the band's SoundCloud page.

Wait is the London duo's follow-up to the much hyped electro-pop debut EP HE&l, which preceded last year's, Fortress EP - a brooding and introspective four-track masterpiece.

Wait shows a skilfully refined and decisive progression in Death Rattle's writing capabilities, where layers of contrasting electronic beats and complimenting synth lines seamlessly interweave and sit beautifully beneath a captivating vocal. Wait leads the listener through atmospheric and ethereal soundscapes reminiscent of Poliça, Deptford Goth and Zola Jesus.

The song effortlessly caresses the line between light and dark, with Helen Hamilton's lyrics describing the complex breakdown of a relationship combined gracefully with her hypnotic and enticing melodies – this is a signature style that Death Rattle have made their trademark.

Wait was written at the band's musical retreat - a near derelict farmhouse in a remote part of France where the band set-up home every few months to write, record and produce their music in undisturbed isolation from the outside world.

2014 will see the band play a single launch show in London in May with further dates planned throughout the UK and Europe before the band release their much anticipated debut album in Autumn.

Wait is released via Limb Records and can be bought digitally on iTunes.

So Many Animal Calls release free track ‘Stories’

So Many Animal Calls have released a free download of the track 'Stories', taken from their second EP, Burden, due for release via Bloc+Music on 26th May 2014.

'Stories' is more pared back than the previous download 'My Blood's Not Mine' - highlighting the band's versatility and ability to write diverse, well rounded alternative pop songs.

You can stream and download the track from the ABoF SoundCloud page or via the embed below.

You can also download their first free track giveaway, 'My Blood's Not Mine', from the ABoF SoundCloud page

Burden sees the Glasgow based four-piece make a welcome return after the release of their 2011 debut EP, Eulogy. While Eulogy highlighted the raw, visceral skills of a young talented band, on Burden we see a marked progression in their sound - a more mature sound mixing abrasive alternative rock with layered moments of technical excellence.

Opening track and forthcoming single, ‘From The Sick Bed’, kicks-off proceedings beautifully as So Many Animal Calls illustrate their ability to write solid, sing-along pop-rock songs encased within a song structure that edges towards prog territory. Emotionally charged lead vocals are intensified by relentless drumming and chiming guitars as the track undulates between the quiet/loud dynamic to great effect. Second track, ’My Blood’s Not Mine’, showcases everything that is good about So Many Animal Calls - technical guitar pieces, dreamy vocals and time changes galore display an impressive depth to a band who offer far more than the sum of their parts.

The Glaswegian foursome, consisting of Sean McKenna (vocals, guitar), Ross Stewart (guitar, vocals), Ross Coll (bass) and new member Sam Leighton (drums) with previous drummer Martin Johnston featuring on the EP, recorded Burden with producer Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, We Were Promised Jetpacks) and the EP was mastered by Carl Saff (Joanna Gruesome, Braid, Speedy Ortiz). Drawing on influences that range from The Cure to Motion City Soundtrack, the band have produced a record that would legitimately sit alongside contemporaries like The Get Up Kids, The Promise Ring and Death Cab For Cutie.

Their dynamic sound has also seen the band gain support from the likes of Artrocker, Drowned In Sound, Jim Gellatly, The Herald and Huw Stephens as well as picking up support slots with the likes of Little Comets and The Xcerts and sharing a stage at Rockness with Friendly Fires.

Burden is due for release on 26th May 2014 via Bloc+Music.

Copper Lungs self-titled EP out now!

For fans of... Two Door Cinema Club, Taking Back Sunday, Phoenix

Copper Lungs are pleased to announce the release their self-titled EP, Copper Lungs, via Thin Hippo Records.

The band's uplifting pop-rock sound has seen them pick up support from the likes of Jim Gellatly, Artrocker and The Vinyl District, as well as an upcoming review from Rock Sound Magazine.

Explosive opening track 'Lego' showcases a band working together seamlessly like a well oiled machine as they create a definitive wall of sound. You can download the 'Lego' from the ABoF SoundCloud or via the embed below.

The EP sees the band’s sound evolve as they enter the next phase of their musical development, with an intensity that can only be attained through experience. Lock four people together in a tour bus for long enough, and they'll either kill each other or gain enough perspective to create something that's truly remarkable. In this case Copper Lungs have achieved the latter.

The band maintains an intensity throughout with tracks like 'How Long' and 'Lost Without You', before the EP winds down, as Darren's vocals take centre stage. Backed by the band's sweeping and epic melodies, it's safe to say that Copper Lungs have spent the time since their debut album honing their sound, using their experiences on the road and in the studio to create a mature and accomplished release.

Check out the video to single 'Lost Without You' on the band's YouTube channel.

Consisting of Darren Lindsay (vocals/guitar), John Cargill (guitar/vox), Jamie Mayes (bass/keys) and Euan Ross (drums), Copper Lungs were formed in 2011 in Dundee. Drawing on influences such as Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix, the band have produced their own powerful blend of melodic harmonised vocally-driven pop rock, a sound that should see them attract a diverse fan base.

Copper Lungs is out now via Thin Hippo Records. Buy it on iTunes.

FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! release debut album ‘Atlas’

“...melodies so crisp they ought to come foil-wrapped.” - NME

“...rapier-sharp indie-pop...” - The Line of Best Fit

FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! release their debut album Atlas today via Audiolith. The album channels, youth, wonderment and discovery, about young hearts trading in security for the unknown - a life of possibilities and adventure - something we all yearn for.

Atlas has already picked up support from the likes of NME and The Line Of Best Fit, both giving the album the thumbs up.

To see what all the fuss is about, you can watch the sacrilicious video for 'We're Manicals!' on the official Audiolith YouTube channel.

You can also listen to and download their free album track "HOME" on Audiolith's SoundCloud page and watch the video on YouTube.

The band’s name - FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! - speaks for itself. Whilst listening to Atlas you can imagine club kids from Dalston, London to Williamsburg, New York dancing carefree in the darkest, coolest corners of some of the best underground clubs, music pulsing, the band’s name emblazoned onto loose fitted vests, graffitied luminously across brick walls - FUCK ART, LET’S DANCE! have the capacity to start a movement.

FUCK ART, LET'S DANCE! also gave way two free downloads from their compilation We're Manicals! (Remixes), available now on iTunes, giving fans the opportunity to download and stream Deo & Zman's and Ostbahnof (FR)'s
interpretation of FUCK ART, LET'S DANCE!'s speaker shaking track 'We're Manicals!'.

Watch the video for the 'We're Manicals! (Leoniden Remix)' on YouTube or via the embed below.

Opening with title track ‘Atlas’, the band evoke the feeling of the joyous abandon of youth but FALD bring the intelligence of Foals whilst maintaining that edge. Progressing forward, a more electronic vibe seeps in with tracks like ‘Home’, channeling an early Friendly Fires sound. There’s a wistfulness about Atlas though, something that East India Youth fans will definitely find appealing but they never slow the pace, they aim to bring you up and keep you there right until the very last track.

Although Atlas is the band’s debut, they’ve been hard at work during their inception in 2009. FALD literally formed from a need to make people dance, tired of watching ‘gig zombies’ stand around at local live shows, they wanted to inspire people to move. Before they had even released a record, they played over 200 gigs earning a reputation for their upbeat, danceable performances. They soon found themselves flying across the Atlantic to SXSW, impressing audiences with their international sound, which led to their 2012 EP Lovers Arcade.

With Atlas, this addictive four-piece will make you dance, sweat and smile - they embody both the fun and introspective elements of youth and have translated them into thirteen perfect tracks.

Atlas is available now via Audiolith. You can buy it on iTunes.
