Introducing… Architects Of Grace

Architects Of Grace was born out of a need for Duncan Robert Illing to bring a breadth of ideas, visions and songs to life. Duncan began writing and recording demos at home in 2008, the material grew stronger, admirers gathered, in 2009 there was a self-financed debut single - Hot White Sun. It sold out and was then re-pressed in 2010.

2010 was all about writing and recording a debut album from which the single Reflection is drawn. During this period Duncan expanded his vision, and sought out like-minded musicians and friends to help bring his material to the masses, taking the opportunity to spread his creation as part of a collective. Reflection is due for release via Procession Recordings on April 4th 2011. While the single and forthcoming debut album are products of one man's vision, the band exists as a group for live performances and sessions.

With a punch of reverb-laden guitars, a glorious contrast of guitars stabbing punctuation throughout the verse, a huge chorus, texture and beauty, Reflection is a perfect introduction to the debut album, Moments In Time, which is released on April 11th 2011. Just take a listen.

If you can't view the Soundcloud stream of Reflection below, you can stream it directly from the Architects of Grace Soundcloud page.

Reflection by ArchitectsOfGrace

With a host of influences spanning the post-punk alternative movement, additional comparisons to David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails, are well deserved, and only go to show how much potential there is for this group. It’s apparent Architects Of Grace are willing to work hard in pursuit of their creative vision and it's only a matter of time before the world takes notice.

While the Moments In Time is mostly self-produced, Duncan was honoured to work with the legendary producer Dave M Allen (The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, The Chameleons, Sisters Of Mercy) on "Ocean Of The Heart" and "Tonight" and Phil English (Biffy Clyro) on the guitar assault of "Hot White Sun". They can now add
Architects Of Grace to their impressive portfolio.

A DIY film to accompany "Oceans of the Heart" - a track taken from the debut album Moments In Time is below. If you can't see this video, you can view it directly on the Architects of Grace YouTube page.

If you can't see the widget below, you can also download "Oceans of the Heart" from Architects of Grace's Bandcamp page.

Physical and downloadable promo copies of the single Reflection and the album Moments In Time are available for review. If you'd like a physical copy or the download link to review these releases, please email info@abadgeoffriendship.com.
