"The latest in a long line of great bands from Glasgow..." - Gigwise
The Dirty Blonde have released the video for their forthcoming single Goodbye: Tiny Fractures, out 15th June 2015 via Two States Recording
The video premiered on Gigwise who described the the band's sound as "like Paul Westerberg backed by Orange Juice." You can watch the video via the The Dirty Blonde's YouTube channel.

Pulling on influences such as Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement, Goodbye: Tiny Fractures begins modestly with a toe-tapping indie vibe but don’t be fooled, these guys can rock. As they reach the chorus, distorted guitar chords come into play along with lead singer Danny Gallagher’s Dave Grohl-esque husky vocals turning this track into an alt-rock ball of energy. The track is filled with slick guitar riffs and strong chord progressions you won’t forget in a hurry.
The Dirty Blonde have spent the last few years playing around Glasgow and the UK, including sold out shows at Nice’N’Sleazy and The 13th Note. The boys used the proceeds to set up their own rehearsal and recording studio and are now ready to unleash their indie rock sound onto the scene.

The Jaguar Club return with ‘Stringer’ video!

“...jagged guitars, off-kilter synths and soaring vocal harmonies”
- The Line Of Best Fit
The Jaguar Club have returned with a brand new video for EP track ‘Stringer’.
The video premiered on The Line Of Best Fit, where William Popadic (vocals & guitar) explained: "Stringer is a song that, for me, really represents the whole reason we reuinted the band. It started as a little chirpy all synth demo I made by myself, but once the full band got their hands on it the song became something else entirely." You can watch the video on the band's YouTube channel.
You can also stream and download 'Stringer' for free via the The Jaguar Club's Soundcloud page.
There are plenty of nods to the original line up’s love affair with 80s new wave, especially with William Popadic’s
and Nadia Brittingham's outstanding vocals and application of synthesisers but they are now backed up by hammering guitars and a visceral live drum backing line that brings their sound all the way into the present, bearing comparison to the likes of Future Islands and Band Of Horses. The Jaguar Club have rediscovered the awesome feeling of humans hammering out a song together in a hot room, and captured it.
Originally a trio formed in 2006, The Jaguar Club’s line up includes founding members William Popadic (vocals & guitar) and Yoichiro Fujita (bass & vocals) along side new additions Nadia Brittingham (keys, guitar & vocals), Gavin Dunaway (guitar) and Patrick Eager (drums). They will be spending the remainder of 2015 touring, including winter dates in the UK and developing material on the road for their next release, a full length album.
EP Close was inspired by a return to the idea of a band being "a band.” Someone writes a song and then the group completely re-moulds it fighting to fit their best ideas in. Hoping to catch the magic of the rehearsal room, the EP came together over a week in a DUMBO Brooklyn studio under the guidance of Nick Stumpf (French Kicks, Caveman, etc). Tracked largely live in the studio with minimal overdubs, the result sounds like a band… and a great one at that.
Close is released via Sleepwalking and is available to buy digitally on iTunes.

"Lilting vocals, swirling strings and some gorgeous glockenspiel..."
- Clash
"…thoughtful, delightful orchestral pop with a refreshingly lo-fi aesthetic."
- Scotland on Sunday
"It's the kind of music that makes me want to type all day in an attempt to describe its beauty." - The 405
Urvanovic have released another amazing free track 'Warrens'. The song is taken from their debut album, Amateurs, released via Survivalist on 15th June 2015.
'Warrens' begins by setting the scene with minimalist strings and a lone voice in the ether, and then the rest of the band wash over the track, creating a multifaceted sound that's simply breathtaking. You can stream and download 'Warren' for free via the ABoF SoundCloud page.
The 405 premiered album track 'Think Fast', which you can also download for free via the Urvanovic BandCamp page. Check out the video that accompanies 'Think Fast' on the Survivalist YouTube channel.
The video for 'Open Ground' premiered on Clash Magazine's website, and you can watch it now via the Survivalist YouTube channel and download the song for free via the band's BandCamp page.
Straddling the line between traditional folk and indie electronica, for every lo-fi song on the album, such as ‘Waterworks’ and ‘Onomatophobia’ there is an equally anthemic counterpart, whether it’s the distortion heavy and immediate album opener ‘Open Ground’ or the electro heavy ‘Bubblewrap’. Urvanovic are not a band who can be easily pigeon holed, and their ability to create a noise that’s both deliciously complex and eminently listenable is a credit to their ability as musicians.
To experience the band's captivating live show first hand, you can watch them perform at the following dates:
12th June - Wee Red Bar w/ Esperi & The Jellyman’s Daughter - Edinburgh
13th June - Love Music - In-store session and exclusive early Vinyl release - Glasgow
Amateurs is released via Survivalist on 15th June 2015.
Leon Of Athens announces UK single ‘Global’!

"…electronic pop songs inflected with folk…" - Guardian
Leon of Athens (aka Timoleon Veremis) will re-release his single Global, taken from the album of the same name. Global is out 22nd June 2015 via Mimosa’s Dream Records through Believe Digital.
You can stream the single and hear Leon's gorgeous sound for yourself on SoundCloud.
You can watch the single's sun soaked video on YouTube.
The video and stream for free download track 'Lifeline' premiered on Clash Magazine's website, and you can stream and download the track for free via Leon Of Athen's SoundCloud page and watch the video on YouTube channel.
Global is a mesmerising shift of oceanic energy and sublime pop action. Pumped up, bright tones are infiltrated with soulful vibes and stirring brass, laced with an underlying melancholy. The song documents the life of a character who has been travelling forever, literally and metaphorically. He's lived through thousands of years, searching for a resting place amongst the mayhem. He stands, his tears turned to ice, in the hope of humanity changing.
Produced by Tony Doogan, who’s worked with the likes of Mogwai and Belle & Sebastian, this indie dance track brings together elements of electro and acoustic tones, as folk, pop and rock come together to paint a world of musical colours.
Leon's vibe is upbeat and euphoric, with social awareness running throughout.
Leon Veremis is originally from Athens in Greece, his sound evolved while living in the city's counter cultural quarter, Exarchia.
The first material he released was inspired by a country in crisis, making headlines there and in the US; within just a few months he was playing to audiences of thousands in Greece.
Now based in London, Leon’s music draws influences from acts such as MGMT, Grizzly Bear, and St Vincent, to name but a few. His album, Global, heralds a more optimistic point of view, incorporating themes of love, fantasy, dreams and ideas, all drawn together by a social documentary style.
Global is released 22nd June 2015 via Mimosa’s Dream Records through Believe Digital.
Download ‘Big E’ by Totem Terrors now!

"Absolutely Howling"
- Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music
Totem Terrors have released the free download track 'Big E', taken from their second album, Hard Science, released 29th June 2015 via Diet Pops.
A masterclass in anthemic, minimalist alternative rock, Big E’ holds nothing back, kicking-off with a glorious smear of distortion and needle-sharp guitar, as Max Hicks’ (vocals, bass & drum programming) robotic chant is counterpointed by Rosie Smith’s (vocals, guitar and synth) Nico-esque responses. You can stream and download the track for free via the Totem Terrors SoundCloud page.
You can also stream and download album track 'Lies' for free via the Totem Terrors SoundCloud page and watch the live video that accompanies it via the band's YouTube channel.
Hard Science could easily soundtrack a factory scene from Lang’s Metropolis, with its masterful use of drone and repetition to create a surreal industrial rock soundscape. Forthcoming single Narrowman, released 22nd June,
showcases the duo’s ability to write stripped back dance floor fillers, with agitprop lyrics and synthetic disco beats surrounded by the chaos of distortion, while tracks like ‘Chicken’ allow Totem Terrors to wear influences like Wire and Big Black on their sleeves, whilst making a sound that is distinctly their own.
Formerly two thirds of the spam-unfriendly Joy Of Sex, Max and Rosie write cool minimalist post-punk songs that are sleek and brainy, all drum machine, bass throb, and guitar as texture. They describe themselves as “…for fans of Wire, Prinzhorn Dance School and films where the hero dies face down in an icy puddle.” Their fantastically surreal album artwork was designed by none other than GHOSTSHRIMP of cult cartoon Adventure Time fame.
Hard Science was written, recorded and mixed by the duo themselves, and they have been known to fabricate their own pedals and instruments, very much staying true to the ideals of their post-punk influences. They’ve already picked up airplay from the likes of BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio, and with a Summer tour in the works and a limited edition 7” vinyl set for release in the autumn, Totem Terrors ability to shape noise into immediate nuggets of post-punk genius is sure to make an impact on 2015.
Hard Science is released 29th June 2015 via Diet Pops.
