Last.fm blog: The Power of Sound

HP recently joined forced with Last.fm with the aim to explore the Power of Sound to help promote their new range of Envy laptops and the sound quality from the incorporated Beats Technology.

It's no secret we've been working with Last.fm to help create online buzz around Last.fm and HP's secret pop-up sessions and artist video interviews all in aid of promoting The Power of Sound.

Last.fm's Chrissie Hines has written a blog about their involvement with HP and her report of their first secret pop-up session, which saw Slow Club hit Soho Square in London a few weeks ago, playing two songs from their forthcoming second album Paradise, which will be released later this year.

The next secret pop-up session is still top secret but we can tell you it'll take place on Thursday 14th July, around lunchtime in another central London location. Keep checking HP's Facebook page, HP's Twitter feed and Last.fm's Twitter feed for updates.

Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard hit London!

A Badge Of Friendship have come together with Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard (hailed by the NME as "The Big Apple's best kept secret") to organise a very special show at The Lexington, London on Tuesday 2nd August 2011.

The band will be joined by a very special guest, Scotland's velvet voiced multi-instrumentalist - Esperi, who will be playing an intimate acoustic set to showcase his new self titled EP, due for release 4th August.

Originally from New York's Lower East Side, Jeffrey Lewis leads a double-life, as both a comic book writer/artist and a musician (or is that a triple-life?). His band also has a schizophrenic existence, ranging between contemplative folk narratives and distortion-fueled garage rock. Live shows incorporate "low budget videos," Jeff’s large illustrations displayed to accompany certain songs, such as Jeff's educational multi-part "History of Communism" or flights of fancy like "The Creeping Brain."

Tickets are available from WeGotTickets priced at £10.00.
They will also be available on the door for £11.00, but these are very limited so it's best to grab your from WeGotTickets whilst you can (there aren't many left now!).

If you would like to come along and review the show, please email your industry guest list requests to info@abadgeoffriendship.com. Please note, guest list space is extremely limited.
