ABoF TV Episode 1 Featuring These Monsters - Watch Now!

ABoF TV is delighted to bring you our very first episode featuring the awesome These Monsters at their album launch in London.

This first installment gives you an intimate insight into the band as they prepare for the launch of their debut album Call Me Dragon. The first episode was recorded at The Lexington in London, February 2010. It captures the band in their purest form, illustrating their raucous live set, which includes fantastic new track “NR5” and crowd pleaser “Harry Patton”. The boys also chat about touring and their sound plus they tell us some odd on-the-road stories, one incident involved them sleeping in cardboard boxes in Glasgow!

If you can't see the video below the viral for episode one can be viewed at our website HERE or via Vimeo HERE. You can also watch the episode on YouTube - part 1 and part 2.

ABoF TV was filmed in conjunction with Overthrow|Film - a creative and innovative film production company. They produce gorgeous, high quality content for a wide range of clients, musicians, artists and professionals such as EA, hip-hop artist Remus, Head Hacking, magician Ravi Maya and many more.

Paul ABoF and Jonas Overthrow started working closely together to develop ABoF TV. It's been a creative vision that ABoF has been developing for a while, taking inspiration from the likes of Pearl Jam's Single Video Theory and Fugazi's Instrument. The idea was to promote good music in way that is removed from the typical mainstream packaging of music video content and music shows.

Each episode is filmed in a documentary style combining a love of aesthetics and passion a for the music. ABoF TV uses no gimmicks, no shiny white-toothed presenters and not an ounce of gimmicky shaky-cam in sight!

Ex Libras Cut(s) EP - News Round Up!

Talented threesome, Ex Libras, recently released their wonderful EP Cut(s) - an acoustic, looptastic reworking of debut album Suite(s) - to wide spread acclaim. The good words keep on coming their way, and today we at ABoF HQ thought we would give you a little round up of the most recent positive reviews.

First up is a fantastic review from This Is Fake DIY who had this to say about the record:

"The most remarkable thing that the band have accomplished is to make the formerly slick, charming and breathtaking original record sound presumptuous and disorderly. This was perhaps not their intention, but it is certainly a testament to their development as artists." - This Is Fake DIY

You can read the full review HERE.

The Line of Best Fit also heaped praise at the boys saying:

"If anything, Cut(s)’s biggest boon is the meticulous sense of dread that courses throughout the EP’s length. The reworked tracks are much gloomier than their originals; a rainy day punctuated by the ray of light in Amit Sharma’s tense voice. On the original album these songs grew to thunderous conclusions; here they are allowed to wallow in themselves." - The Line of Best Fit

You can read the review HERE.

Finally music website Room Thirteen rated the EP as 10/13 which is quite a score! They wrote:

"Opener 'For Us, For Me' has plucked strings, drum machine and cello, as well as a nicely understated vocal delivery, the tone is thoughtful, slightly melancholic somewhere between Radiohead and Antony and the Johnsons...perhaps. It could almost be one of those tracks that appears on those chill out compilation albums but that really does the EP a disservice as it's far better than that." - Room Thirteen

Read the review in full HERE.

Keep up-to-date with the band, who have a tour coming up and an exciting show with Mimas and Union Sound Set, through their website or Myspace page.
