Mimas in the Press and Uk Tour Starts Today!

Danish sensations Mimas are about to embark on their UK tour today in preparation for the release of the exquisite album Lifejackets.

The band have already received some brilliant reviews so far and the praise looks set to continue with another couple of fine write ups from the music press. First up The Tidal Wave of Indifference had some kind words to say about the band comparing them with Death Cab for Cutie:

"Lifejackets is a different beast. It doesn’t completely leave behind post rock – if you strip away Snævar Njáll Albertsson’s vocals there’s plenty of chiming guitars in the mix and the intro to Rotting Rodents will see many a chin stroked - but what the band have become is more akin to a Death Cab for Cutie that doesn’t take itself too seriously." - The Tidal Wave of Indifference

You can read the full article, including some words from the band itself, HERE.

Alter the Press gave Mimas a particularly great review with the band gaining a score of 4.5/5!

"...'Lifejackets' is a superb achievement, its ability to (nearly) flow with ease and to hook you in from start to finish is refreshing. The bands open approach, and musicianship leaves you captivated, From the indie-pop sensibility of 'La Moustache' to the closing delicate piano notes of 'Relationship', Mimas have exceeded in expectations." - Alter The Press

Mimas will be playing a number of shows in the UK over the next week. The tour begins tonight in Canterbury where the band will be playing at The Orange Street Music Club and culminates with a final show in the big smoke of London at The Luminaire.
