Siv’s ethereal voice and haunting songwriting brings forth a delicate and modern take on Scandinavian folk. Her fearlessness in creating bold, honest songs is rare, and has led her to win several songwriting awards.

ABoF’s Class of 2015: HAWK

As we kick off the last week before Xmas, we continue our look forward to the best new bands on our roster in 2015.

Artist: HAWK

Sounds like: An Indie Rock Bjork with a Folk Flourish.

Releases: Clock Hands EP - Feb 2015

What others are saying about them:

"HAWK combine post-punk and folk in a spine-tingling brew that’ll take potshots at your emotional wellbeing.'
- The Line of Best Fit

"Like some kind of wonderful post rock pixie, Julie's sweet, spellbinding voice beckons us into the darkness. Then they go and surprise us with a glorious bit of discordant post rock… HAWK are one class act."
- Artrocker

In their own words: We've been told we're in the realms of noir alt-rock with a hint of post punk, all crammed into the back of a Ford Focus.

ABoF’s Class of 2015: The Marks Cartel

Day four sees us heading to Wales as we look forward to the best new bands on our roster who'll be making waves in 2015.

Artist: The Marks Cartel

Sounds like: Elements of Oasis, with a smattering of Arctic Monkeys and a dash a Royal Blood.

Releases: Curtain Call [single] - 23rd February 2015

What others are saying about them:

Curtain Call is an evolved and raw take on the British rock sound, with dirty, grimy guitars blaring from the speakers, rhythmic, snapping drums and grizzly, emotive vocals.

In their own words: There are no bells and whistles here. This is unashamed rock and roll at it’s very best.

ABoF’s Class of 2015: Hello Future

We're ending the year on a high as we look forward to the best new bands on our roster who'll be making waves in 2015. Today we're featuring a very aptly named band indeed.

Artist: Hello Future

Sounds like: 90s American rock with a celtic edge.

What others are saying about them:
“…great hooks, killer harmonies and a spirited chorus… Hello Future are pretty adept at creating musical ear worms and we cannot wait to hear what they release next.” - Artrocker

Chiming guitars that lead into catchy riffs akin to Blink 182’s early days and breakdowns that Biffy Clyro would be proud of.

In their own words: Atmospheric riff led alternative rock pop with a Scottish twang.
