A Badge of Friendship on FUBAR Radio - Episode 25 feat. Sofar Sounds and Dinosaur Pile-Up!

Sofar Sounds’ Chris Lloyd joins Claire and Paul in the studio and presents three brilliant live sessions from Sofar around the world - Lydmor (Aarus), Kevin Garrett (NYC) and Will Joseph Cook (London).

Later in the show, the pair chat to Matt Bigland from Dinosaur Pile-Up about their latest album Eleven Eleven out on October 16th and with producer Laura away, Adam steps in to dispel the rumours that Michael Jackson is still alive but it seems Claire and Paul are too far down the rabbit hole to listen to reason.

Armando Iannucci, Jon Schnepp and Holly Payne join ABoF for a Soundtrack Special!

This week Armando Iannucci and ‘The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?’ director Jon Schnepp and producer Holly Payne joined A Badge of Friendship as the gang celebrated movie soundtracks on FUBAR Radio.

Fresh from sweeping the board at the Emmys, Armando chatted to Claire, Paul and Ed about his favourite soundtracks and the process he goes through as a director when choosing music for film and TV.

Jon Schnepp and Holly Payne of ‘The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?’ also called in from Los Angeles to chat about the music composed by Freddy Scott for the film.

ABoF also play the John Williams soundtrack game, listen in as Claire tries (and fails… miserably) to hum the themes to Superman, Indiana Jones and Star Wars all in a row. Spoiler alert - she gets there… eventually!

In the coming weeks, A Badge of Friendship have a conspiracy theory special planned with Andrew WK addressing the rumours about the conspiracy surrounding himself plus Sofar Sounds join the gang in the studio, presenting the best music from their sessions around the world.

Goodbye Ed!

ABoF's Claire writes some farewell words for Ed on behalf of team ABoF...

As soon as Ed handed in his notice, I had it in mind that I wanted to write him a tribute blog upon his leaving. It was a shock to us all and we had no idea that he intended to leave us at all but life needs to move forward.

Ed was with us from the beginning. After around a year after A Badge of Friendship’s inception, we met Ed and got him on board to help us out as an intern. We had met him at an Ex Libras gig and chatted about film and TV - I had no idea that that first chat would be the start of a brilliant friendship and someone who would become so integral to A Badge of Friendship and I will always remember that night and we’re thankful he plucked up the courage to speak to us.

When we started the company, we always had it in mind to only work with people whom we genuinely loved and wanted to grow with us. Ed definitely ticked all the boxes and quickly became our backbone as Paul and myself spread our wings and built the company, trying to take it as far as we could fly.

Ed became like family and our office chats were always one of the highlights of our days working together. At times it felt as though we were at school, delirious with laughter in the afternoons between daft chat, making plans ‘after class’ to hang out at our favourite local cocktail bar Graffiti - there was never an awkward moment - everything just fit. Ed was the perfect piece to our ABoF jigsaw and without him now, it will feel very strange indeed. Like a brother that’s left home to pursue his dream of… er… honestly, Ed’s explained it to me what he’s going to be doing a million times and it’s something marketing-y and ‘SEO’ was mentioned. You get me…

So we wish Ed all the best. We’re so happy we’ve made a friend for life and it’s been a brilliant ride. Sadly, he won’t be continuing the journey with us but his spirit will remain at ABoF for many years to come.

Good luck Ed - we’re gonna’ miss ya Beaver Man!
